    The benchmade 940 even 20 plus years later is still generally considered to be the best edc ever made

    I had my 940 for 10 years and one omega spring broke. A day after i shipped it to BM to be fix i bought a 940-1 because i felt lost not having it in my pocket.

    Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA
    I enjoy my 940 (coated M4 blade) and even got the little brother 945 (coated s30 blade) which really performs well for its size.
    I carry the 945 when I need to for certain occasions and have never had a bad reaction.

    100 procent agree, i bought the 940-2 over a year ago. In sweden it costs around 300 dollars, but man after i have carried it since then i have no complaints. Its sturdy, light and dissapears in your pockets. One time i was searching for it when i had it on the side of my swimming shorts😅 its so easy to carry so you will always carry it. Not a slicer as you said but its capable of many tasks, opening letters and boxes can other knives have. And i also like the design, not to tactical and still a gentlemans knife. Oh almost forgot about the sturdy point of it, really nice to pierce through whatever comes in your way. Im gonna buy the 940 also in a near future. Great review 👍

    When I bought a 940-2 about 6 years ago I didn't care for it as much as I thought I would. It ended up living in the console of the truck for a while. I decided to take it to work and beat on it until it gave up, or I would lose it and not care. After about a year of abuse that a few other knives couldn't handle, I changed my mind and I consider it the best all around knife I have ever had. As far as it not being slicey enough, I have other blades that are thinner and more efficient but can't take the abuse of the 940. I like so much I have a 940 on the way. Maybe someday I will pick up a custom shop version as well.

    I hate Benchmade for some reason, they are just corny. but I love the 940.

    Outside of a Spyderco Police my crazy uncle gave me when I was 10, the 940 was my first nice knife, and my only knife for the better part of a decade. It survived all the dumb things I used it for as a non-knife person, and I think I could make an argument for it still being the king of exactly that; a non-knife person's first nice knife. The biggest problem with that now though, is the price.
    If you're not gonna be using a knife as a screwdriver or a prybar, then there's so many better options. I think a "slicy" knife is a lot more useful in day to day tasks than a beefy one, and I say this as a massive XM24 fan.

      Thanks for sharing ! I can totally agree ! For me , super slicey has never been something I’ve needed ! EDC is always subjective ! The 940 is truly my one “Grail” knife that I’ve gotten and never regret buying !

      It would be the best hands down except for the omega springs. Why benchmade has not upgraded the omega springs is a head shaker. If you have had your bench made for years and have never had your omega springs fail i can see that you think the knife is the best. All i will say is ive had 3 940s. Every one of them has had the springs break. And i am not a heavy every day user of my knife. And i dont sit and use it as a fidget toy 17:22

    You need to get the newly released version of the Benchmade Osborne 940, which has a burnt copper anodized aluminum handle and magnacut blade👍 It's blade, hardware, and pocket clip all have an incredible battleworn finish💯🔥

    I used to have a 940 about a decade ago. I left it on a dock during a fishing trip 🤦‍♂️ and I'm sure someone else has been enjoying since lol. Great video brother, you definitely made me wanna pick up another one.

    Oh I agree 100%, I have other knives but the 940 is still the one I always go to. Like you said I carry little razor knives they were out change the blade easy. But I always have a pocket knife on me at work and it’s 99% of the time at 940. I don’t care about the new craze I want something that is just reliable and works

    Warren Osborn was Australian right Australia is close to England in relations. Britain’s race and color was BRG which is British racing green. One of their great Lemans Jaguar winners was green with purple numbers. I just always think of that because yes I carry a 940 every day for 10 years at least

    • @tommywei1154
      @tommywei1154 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I went the opposite. I started off with the bugout, and then bought the 940. 940 became my everyday carry in jeans. bugout became my carry for when i'm wearing shorts and sweats. Realistically i only use my knives to open up packages ... of other knives.

      @@fredde90210 the bugout is completely inferior to the 940. It just feels cheap and has way too much flex in the handle
