- Working with repeating decimals and fractions can be difficult! In this video, I show you how to change a repeating decimal into a fraction in four steps...
1. Write an equation with the number
2. Make a second equation from the first equation
3. Subtract the two equations
4. Solve for x and simplify the fraction.

How to convert 0.255555555555... into a fraction:
x = 0.255555555555...
100x = 25.555555555555...
10x = 2.555555555555...
90x = 23
x = 23/90
How to convert 0.381111111111... into a fraction:
x = 0.381111111111...
1000x = 381.111111111111...
100x = 38.111111111111...
900x = 343
x = 343/900
This step is much more better. This is what i use.

How to keep minus sign bro?
Can you create a 3.7 example now ??
This doesn't seem to work for me, even though I only have one repeating digit in the decimal, if I make up a problem like 3.141555... Instead, I had to do the following:
let x = 3.141555...
then: 10^4(x) - 10*3(x)
10^4(x) = 31,415.555...
10*3(x) = 3,141.555...
10,000x - 1,000x = 28274
9,000x = 28,274
x = 28,274/9,000
therefore: x = 14,137/4,500 or 3.141555...
at 4:00 you didnt explain why we have to divide by 9 could you just add the rules why when youre doing something you cant expect everyone to just know dumb students like me are also desperate to find help like this and i dont remember the rules well
if you had the same question it undoes the multiplication done earlier in the equation if we kept the multiplication itd be wrong this is called the "Multiplicative Inverse" dividing both sides of an equation to isolate and solve for a variable for the correct answer
The tricks🫡
