1st: Expand the decimal.
0.5212121
2nd: The repeating value (subtrahend) should be subtracted from the expanded form (minuend). Take note that you must write the recurring part from right to left so that you can easily cancel it.
0.5212121 - exp. (minuend)
-0.1212121 - rep. (subtrahend
Difference= 0.4
3rd: Represent it now as:
0.4 + 0.12 (12 is the repeating now)
4th: Convert to fraction
4/10 + 12/99
2/5 + 4/33
66/165 + 20/165
= 86/165

=>246.464646…\-the recurring “46” cancels
-2.464646…/-out the other “46”|

=>x=244/990. (Now simplify)
