I just sent this to my sister who is less than a year younger than me, I'm 61 n she's 60 n she still watches Andy Griffith too. I'm in MI n she's in Florida. We grew up watching the show from the day it first aired as kids. So ya, we have had had a little fe long love affair with Don Knott's n the rest of the unforgettable cast. I wish my Dad was still alive to see this wonderful video. But he is probably hanging out with them all in Heaven. Lucky him . ❤❤❤❤
Don Knotts brought so much joy to everyone and his Barney Fife is pure genius. I know his grave marker shows him in all of his most famous roles. I liked him in No Time For Sergeants and as the nuisance neighbor on Matlock. He is beloved and his comedy performances are on film for many generations to enjoy. West Virginia should be proud of their native son. Thank you Jordan!! Hugs to Jah. ☺️😊🥰❤️☀️🦩☺️☺️
Don Knotts facial expressions were priceless especially when he tried to show off his cool side with the ladies. When he was caught by Opie and his friends doing undercover police work in town was also precious moments indeed. Thanks Jordan for taking the time to put these memories together. Hugs to Jah as well. ❤️🙏🏻🌴🐕🦺
Really great video, Jordan. When it comes to the greatest comedic actors in American television history, Don Knotts was one of them. He is up there with Lucille Ball, Jackie Gleason and Dick Van Dyke. So many big and small screen idols have come from small town America. I think such roots gave them humility and an appreciation and understanding of common American life and the shared wit and wisdom of their peers.
Several years ago, I was in Rowlesburg, WV (Preston County, east of Monongalia County and Morgantown) at an antique and secondhand store. There was a Morgantown High School yearbook opened to the page with Don Knotts' senior picture.
Hi, Jordan! Excellent episode as usual. Don Knotts was a real sweetheart. When he was making "The Love God?" in 1969 at Universal Studios, my boss and I shared a bungalow on the lot with Don and his assistant, who was a very nice, beautiful blonde. Don was out of his office quite a bit as I think they were either finishing up principal photography or was close to doing so. But when he did come in, he always smiled and greeted me and whoever else was in our waiting room/support staff area. One time when my boss was in New York and there was basically nothing going on for me to do all day except answer the phones, Don's assistant asked if I'd like to go with her to Don's home as she needed to take some papers to him. So off we went, after I arranged for the studio phone operators to take messages while I was out to be collected upon my return (no, we didn't have voice mail in those days, LOL!). It was great to see where he lived (don't remember where it was, though). He was his usual pleasant self and I stayed there while his assistant and he finished their discussion...less than an hour, as I recall, and drank the beverage they brought to me, and looked through some picture books Don had sitting on his coffee table. I'm sure I haven't thought of this incident for probably 50 years. Your fun video brought it all back. Andy Griffith visited the office several times, too, while were in residence. Unfortunately, my boss's contract was not renewed and so I moved out of the bungalow and went to work for one of the executives in the Black Tower for a number of years. Universal was a wonderful place to work in those days and I made numerous lifelong friends.
We Love Don Knotts.👍. Of course Andy Griffith come on every day, on several channels. Deputy Barney Fife was something else, him and Thelma lou.😁 he only had 1 bullet in his gun. We loved him on Threes Company. He's had other Roles. I Remember The Ghost and Mr Chicken. It was so funny. The Expressions he uses is Priceless. Thanks Jordan. DON KNOTTS Should be Rembered for his Great Comedy. He added Something Special to each role he played. The way he used facial expressions and his eyes. Put him in a category all by himself. Nobody could of did the roles he played but him.👍👏👏👏. HIs Home Town has every right to be Proud of him. He Deserved to be Honored and Remembered. Love, respect and positivity always. Neita james. Merry Christmas Jordan, JAH and all of my Fellow Lion Hearts.✌🖖🕯❤🙂👋.
Great video! Don and Andy had such great chemistry on the Andy Griffith Show. You could tell they were good friends. I’m glad he’s remembered in his hometown.
Jordan thank you for taking us along on another great adventure with you. I was born and raised in Ohio, but we traveled to WV a lot. Morgantown was always so proud of Mr. Knotts. He was such a sweet person how could you not just love this sweet soul.
As much as I love Andy Griffith, the show was never the same without Barney. Don was so funny and Andy and Don together were unbeatable comedy - timeless comedy. I bought the entire series on DVD and watch them to this day. Thank you so much, Jordan, for this really informative report - you told us a lot of things I didn't know about good 'ol Don Knotts. ♥ Kathleen
GREAT 👍 program on the funny & talented MR. DON KNOTTS! My favorite film is “The Ghost 👻 and Mr. Chicken” from 1966. This has been a family favorite since I was a child. Awesome. Thanks Jordan.
Thank you, Jordan. I still drive by his home in Glendale, that you vlogged, when visitors come to town. It's on my own Glendale, Pasadena and Toluca Lake (Andy Griffith, Ron Howard homes) celeb home tour. :) Harvey Brownstone has a great interview with Don's daughter, Karen, on TH-cam. What a great talent! I'm so glad you had a chance to meet him and that he signed your DVD. So cool!
That was an excellent video, very interesting to learn about the great comedian Don Knots who I grew up loving in Mayberry and seeing my first drive in movie 🍿🎥 with my family as a kid The Ghost and Mr.Chicken!! Attaboy, Luther Attaboy, Don !!! Great video. Attaboy, Jordan the Lion n Jah!!
Thank you Jordan for sharing your knowledge with us about Don Knotts. So much I did not know about his background. On Thanksgiving my sister and I watched a marathon of the Andy Griffith show. Whenever Barney was on the screen we were always laughing. What a character.
Jordan your in my neck of the woods I’ve lived in almost heaven West Virginia for 42 years now mining coal to support my family for almost 22 years you’ll never meet any nicer kinder people than what’s in WV I hope you have a merry Christmas and a great new year

Don Knotts deserves every one of those 5 Emmy Awards ... HE was one of the GREATS of show business . I think his hometown is doing a pretty good job honoring him. There's a section for him in a museum , they named a street after him , and then there's the statue of him. Not bad at all. There's only one thing I didn't like about Don Knotts----He murdered his dummy ! Lol ! R.I.P. Don, you brought a lot of laughs to a world that needs them .
I was born and raised in Morgantown and live here now you came at the best time to come if you want to come to our town and you don’t want to have a bad time make sure to come when the college is on break or the students are gone they drive property and social values down when there here you will see nothing but trouble and alcoholism!
My Dad sat next to Don's 2nd wife Laralee in middle school and she told him she was moving to California. Great research and information. Nice work Jordan 👍🏼😎
Born and raised in WV. I live about an hour and 15 minutes North of Morgantown. Love Don Knott's. Still watch Andy Griffith. Love Increible Mr. Limpit. One of my favorite movies.
I like The Ghost and Mr Chicken. I can understand why he left The Andy Griffith Show when he did though. The movie offers might not have been the same later on since timing in show business is important at times to keep one’s career going in different directions. I stopped watching the Andy Griffith show when he left it to do other projects. It wasn’t the same without Don Knotts for sure.

Hi, thank you so much for shedding a whole new light on Don Knott's life. always wondered about his early life. My Dad n his families all from Logan, W. VA, so I have always had an extra special place in my heart for him. I love watching the Andy Griffith show, where I get to watch him every day, for hours on one channel during the afternoon n then I just switch the channel n continue watching more episodes into th evening. I never get tired of watching the reruns. I love Andy, Barney, Aunt Bee, Opey n the others do much.
As a fan of Don Knotts and a Morgantown, WV resident, I enjoyed and appreciated your video. It is indeed sad that more of Don’s history and the places that he lived here are now gone. West Virginia University took down the Knotts boarding house on University Avenue to build student housing. I guess I can’t be too critical of them as I worked in Sunnyside on University Avenue right next to the Knotts boarding house and never realized what it was!
I first started tuning in to you channel when you were in Los Angeles and all the Shelly Winters stories, but I missed that you met Don Knotts there also. Awesome

@@bigscarysteve I was only 13 when I lived there, I wish I could recall, I’ll ask my brother. It was downtown, very small. She looked like an older Aunt Bee and she could cook! Restaurant was always packed.
@@bigscarysteve I’m from Charleston so when Don got busted for growing pot, we heard about it on the news. West Virginia is wonderful for growing pot. Because the whole state was outraged that they’d arrest him in his old age, the law agreed. Lots and lots of people grow pot there. Don was admired and loved by all. ( loved even more after that) 😂
@@dianakidd4219 I don't remember Don getting arrested. I couldn't find such an incident with a quick Google search. You are right about West Virginia being a good place for growing pot, though.

Don Knotts gave me lots of laughs. My Mom was born and raised in Morgantown. She loved it there. Thank you for sharing what it looks like. I hope to go there one day. If I do I’ll check out the museum. Great video!

Don Knotts was such a good actor and comedian. The Ghost and Mr Chicken is a favorite movie of mine and he ended up with Alma. Yes! Thanks for doing this vlog. Very interesting. Give Jah a pet from me. Happy Holidays and wishing you the best in the new year.
Thank you so much Jordan! I'm 51 yrs old so I only caught reruns of the Andy Griffith show but I can say this I've watched the whole series multiple times and can say it's one of my favorite tv sitcoms still today! The apple dumpling gang was the first full length movie I saw with Mr knotts and my favorite movie with him is the ghost and Mr. Chicken.he was Hilarious on three's company (another favorite). And a side note, Ron Howard's wife is from my hometown which means I met Opie before lol. Thank you again Jordan not only for this but all that you do for us!! I've been watching you for 4 yrs now and can honestly say you have never disappointed! Always looking forward to your videos! I hope you have a fantastic New Year and I'll be waiting as always for your videos!!
As a huge fan of TAGS, I enjoyed your show featuring the hometown of Don Knotts. You do an amazing job of bringing information and humor to your audience. I've visited the Andy Griffith Museum in Mt. Airy, NC, but I had no idea this place existed. It's now on my list of places to visit. I have to admit, I was hoping the museum would have more Don Knotts artifacts on display, such as his Mayberry deputy hat and uniform, but it was still cool to see what was there. Thank you for your time.
Wonderful video Jordan, thanks !!! PS: I knew a guy whose name was Glasscock. It was so embarrassing for him he had to change it to Woodcock.....MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and Ja.
Thank you for helping me get through the pandemic. I looked forward to - and watched - most of your videos from those years. The last one I saw was you showing your wonderful new house (after leaving California) at some mystery location. At any rate, it is nice to see you still posting great videos!!!
My husband is literally watching Andy Griffith as I watch this! 😆 He has to watch it every evening... Now, I wanna look up some old Three's Company episodes & watch their reactions when he walks into the shots! Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵
I’ve been waiting for you to visit Morgantown and do a Don Knotts vlog. The Andy Griffith Show wasn’t the same after Barney wasn’t a regular character anymore. Who didn’t love the karate bit between him and Andy. Of course whenever he called Juanita lol…Nip it in the bud
Nice tribute to this wonderful comic actor. It’s hard to find some of his work. But when he left Mayberry and made some films With Tim Conway. He was a regular guy. Love his Mr. Limpet… most of his movies were wonderful film’s families could watch together.❤👏🏻🙏‼️
The amount of information you provided on Don was astounding 👍 I have seen his gravesite before, but never heard about his life or his home town. Here in Australia when I was growing up we never missed an episode of Three’s Company. When I was a little girl one of my favourite movies was The Incredible Mr. Limpet. Whenever I saw him on tv as I was growing up, I always imagined he would be the sweetest man. Im glad 😃 to hear that he was. Don was such a funny man, who left a wonderful legacy behind. Thank you Mr. Don Knotts for the wonderful childhood memories that are still with me today and thank you Jordan for such a great video. ❤️Jodie🇦🇺

I was only 13 when I lived there, I wish I could recall, I’ll ask my brother. It was downtown, very small. She looked like an older Aunt Bee and she could cook! Restaurant was always packed.

I’m from Charleston so when Don got busted for growing pot, we heard about it on the news.
Another great one Jordan! Love to Jah.❤❤🐾🐾
Don Knotts such a funny person. glad he did pretty good. sad that he's gone, but he still makes us laugh with his shows and movies. thanks Jordan stay safe.
Don Knotts gave me lots of laughs. My Mom was born and raised in Morgantown. She loved it there. Thank you for sharing what it looks like. I hope to go there one day. If I do I’ll check out the museum. Great video!
Fantastic vlog, learned alot about Don Knotts, loved the photos used, everything 😀 👌.
Don did a bit on Steve Allen's show where he was supposed to be Errol Flynn and Errol was a guest.....SO funny, swashbuckler Don Knotts...lol.
We use to do ring and runs (Ring the door bell and runaway) on his brothers house as a kid in Morgantown lol....Don came back a couple times for big events here, he was a funny guy....
Don Knotts was good on the Andy Griffith show nice vlog about Don in Morgan Town west Virginia good vlog Jordan vickie napa ca
I live there and drive those streets everyday....thank you for showing love to our town and one of our heroes!!
Great video. Thank you Jordan. Merry 🎄 Christmas.....
I had a blast looking at this . Thanks, Jordan!
Don is still making me laugh.
His Mr. Furley role cracked me up as a kid. I go to Morgantown alot I am going to have to go check out his statue. Such an amazing legacy and man.
Wonderful video Jordan, thanks !!! PS: I knew a guy whose name was Glasscock. It was so embarrassing for him he had to change it to Woodcock.....MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and Ja.
So interesting. Thanks for sharing. I love the Andy Griffith show and Don knotts. Merry Christmas ! 🎄
Thank you for helping me get through the pandemic. I looked forward to - and watched - most of your videos from those years. The last one I saw was you showing your wonderful new house (after leaving California) at some mystery location. At any rate, it is nice to see you still posting great videos!!!
I'm glad to see that Don Knott's will not be forgotten
My husband is literally watching Andy Griffith as I watch this! 😆 He has to watch it every evening... Now, I wanna look up some old Three's Company episodes & watch their reactions when he walks into the shots! Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵
If you don't like Ole'Barn..... we can't be friends.
Thanks for sharing. Interesting 👍👏🏻
I lived for a few months in Morgantown and always drove down Don Knotts Blvd!
Great video. I love Don Knotts. Probably the most unique performer of his time.
You've had such amazing run ins with stars and such amazing stories to go with those, Happy holidays Jordan and Jah
The amount of information you provided on Don was astounding 👍
I have seen his gravesite before, but never heard about his life or his home town.
❤️Jodie🇦🇺
Such an interesting video! Thanks Jordan.
