Hearing stories from the Elders is so much better than reading the stories in a book. This is so personal, and Miss Lucille is a fantastic story teller. Jordan, you always go beyond what is necessary to tell a story. That makes the stories a lot more interesting.

I like the story Bill Cosby told about Ray, he went to Ray's for a visit. Ray was in the bath shaving and Bill kind of freaked out saying something like you'r gonna cut yourself want me to turn the light on? Ray replied why, would it make you feel better?

Great vid! I had the pleasure of seeing Ray Charles perform in the early 2000s, at the historic Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Fla. It was an amazing show--one funny thing I remember, I arranged to leave work early that day so I could meet my parents at the theatre, and a young co-worker of mine said, "You're going to see Ray Charles? Cool. Will there be a mosh pit?"

Ty so much. I'll treasure my glasses forever.
I remember I watched the Jamie Foxx portrayal of RC.
It was interesting but it doesn't give near the insight that you give us here. His life was somewhat sad,..yet he was destined for GREAT things and overcame many obstacles in the way.
    Undoubtedly an icon.
    Thanks again! Well done.👍

We live near this area and there are a lot of Ray Charles memorials ,statues and murals all over the place down here .The one in Albany Georgia at The Civic Center being one of the best .It has survived several floods from the nearby Flint River and a couple of tornadoes also .We have a mural with him and a lot of famous Alabama artists including the Queen of Rock herself Big Mama Thornton .Her original of Hound Dog was the true beginning of rock not Elvis or Chuck Berry .It is way past time she got credit for it .The aquarium at the Civic Center is really nice also along with the zoo at Chehaw Park. One of the best down here in my opinion .We never miss a chance to go to the large Native American festivals they hold there .The bobcat exhibit is truly unique and the train ride at Chewhaw is nice also .All worth a visit if near Albany Georgia.
