@Zay I agree my girl is 5 and she's the calmest and oldest out of the three - she can be a little dramatic at times tho lol but she's so much calmer then the young ones
Mine are hit and miss one of one loves a brush hates the bath the other hate baths and love a brush and youngest is just dramatic with everything 😂😑 he will let you do it but it's a long process 🤣 I wish it was as calm as this video!
Well explained and thank you. Just picked up a stray 3yr old Siberian Husky from an animal shelter and I am determined to keep her coat in good condition. Thank you again.
Best video I've seen for twin coat Huskies. I have a Siberian and she's only 2 years old and this heat is really making her drop her coat as fast as I can vacuum behind her. Thanks for sharing your techniques ❤️
Just saw your channel for the first time today. We were GIVEN a beautiful blue-eyed Husky pup last year, (the owner's house flooded and they couldn't take care of the litter), and in just two days from now he'll be one year old. I grew up with GSDs but never had a Husky, and had no idea of the differences. He has now caught a contingent of fleas, from his going into deep grass every time I walk him. We live in Thailand and he is suffering both from the heat and the fleas. I brush him every day, but I want to cut his coat down a bit. I searched this morning to find some help on how to groom him, as I plan on buying some electric clippers later today, and another brush. I have a cheap plastic regular hair brush that works pretty well on the guard-coat, and a small fine-toothed wire brush but it has short bristles and loads up immediately. Because he is so young, he is still pretty hyper, and I need to know what I'm doing as much as possible before I begin. Your work with the brushes and the sprays was helpful, and I sincerely thank you for sharing your skill and info. All the best to you. PS If you want to see some cute pics, they're here: ibb.co/album/G30jZ5
You are an amazingly gentle groomer. I am grateful for you and this video. I have a almost two-year old female Siberian husky fur baby named Naamah and she won't let anyone but me groom her. I already do a similar routine to this but all the recommended techniques, tips and tools were so helpful. Love and Light to all!
Great video! Finally seeing someone use the right tools for these double-coats! Those Furminators and deshedding rakes cut guard hairs and the undercoat. Wish I had never bought those tools.
My Dad had a friend who had a lovely dog with a double coat and he 'stripped' his dog's fur with his fingers. He went like lightning and it was amazing how much fluff he pulled out.
Wonderful tutorial! I have a husky, and this was so helpful. The comb is my go-to (also have a rake), but I definitely need to add the pin brush and spray to my grooming toolbox. Thank you so much for demonstrating in detail the process. You are AWESOME! 😃
I do this with my cat. Learned from various groomer videos. This helps so much. Get's rid of undercoat, reduces clumps. Saves my furniture and my cat's skin.
same with my husky girl teehee, but question does your malamute have an issue with it's paws being touched I've had a few husky breeds and they all seem to have an issue with it's paws
@@birtadiaval8804 yes, she hates having her paws touched. I have to sedate her with a 3-drug "cocktail", beginning 3 hours before her appointment at the veterinarian, to get her nails trimmed.
What a brilliant video and what an absolute star Wylie is! I've been following you on Instagram for years as I used to have a tamaskan as well but I didn't realise you were such a good groomer. Wylie even seemed to enjoying that 👍🥰
Once a week.. If you’re less dedicated than that you could brush every time you bathe at the recommended 6 week mark. You’re going to have a lot of hair though.
How often do you have to do this? My kids are buying 2 girl huskies and I just found out that they shed, and they have a lot of hair. My wife hates dog hair in the house because they smell. We will need a lot of convincing for her to agree with having dogs in the house.
I don't see the brush you mentioned, Chris Christiansen [missing word] brush, firm, in the list of items in the link provided. can you add the name or link to it?
Best dogs ever! Its a German Shepard with an attitude. Our shepsky barks and speaks like a husky, she is extremely intelligent and tries to get away with things all the time.
My 1 yo Husky could never 😭 he hates being groomed every time we try he sees the brushes and runs away and when we do catch him he just lays on his back and pretends to sleep and won’t move it’s like war trying to groom him meanwhile while all that’s going on my 1 1/2 yo Husky is waiting to get brushed
They would get super matted up, since they've been bred to be domestic. Wild animals who shed usually use trees etc to "brush off" the excess hair/undercoats
yes a Tamaskan Wolfdog - I used to have one that looked just like Wylie - he had the gentlest and sweetest nature you could ever ask for and I miss him every single day
How is he so hood 😥😥 my boy is 2 now & he's ughhhh all over the place barking just giving me hell I don’t think he was a good idea for a service dog 😩😩 && do you know why he sits funny as if he’s in pain it’s sad to watch him sit but when he’s out the cage he’s running around pain free
Tamaskans are awesome dogs but no definitely not a service dog, far too independent a nature and they'll never be happy being told what to do. They'll be your best friend ever though if you build the right bond with them
You're right! He is actually a Tamaskan, but has a coat very much like a Husky or Shepherd. So all of the instructions here work perfectly for either breed :)
He is so calm and obedient, and he looks so cool! Not like the usual drama huskies (yet i love the drama).
He's super calm I have 3 and they are goofy and dramatic asf 😂
Wouldn't change it for the world but I was so shocked to see how calm he it lool

Thank you for taking time to show and explain your techniques. I finally had my dog calm and relaxed during her grooming.
Explanation was great, dog was beautiful, thumbs up!

NEVER shave a double coated dog !!!

What a handsome boy: so well behaved too. Dogs know when you are helping them. 😊😆
Who knew Violet from the Incredibles was such an awesome dog groomer!
Was just about to leave this comment she even makes looks like her lol
Wylie is so well behaved while being groomed! It's literally a wrestling match when I groom/brush my big Malamute!

what a lovely dog. soft eyes. wonderfully helpful thank you
This was such a helpful video. Thank you so much!! My husky sheds like crazy
You deserve way more subscribers!! Love the video!
Best looking dog ever! I want him! 💚
Great Video! How much does Wylie weigh?
What kind of spritzer are you using, is it unscented, and can you use just a misting bottle?
good tips, and you were very clean. I saw one messy video, couldn't watch.... It was horrible. but you did very clean job . Awesome !

We just got a husky, how often do you recommend a thorough grooming session like this?
Once every 2-3 months.
Once a week.. If you’re less dedicated than that you could brush every time you bathe at the recommended 6 week mark. You’re going to have a lot of hair though.
@gingersnaps6231 you're not suppose to bathe huskies that frequently. Twice a year at most.
Does this need to be done weekly, or biweekly?

Such a beautiful shepsky:O)
He's such a good boy!
You are Awesome groomer!
I’m 100th sub! I love this dog omg. This must be the best looking dog i have seen.
wow that's a really cool dog I couldn't decide between German Shepherd and husky, why not get two in one? lol
Best dogs ever! Its a German Shepard with an attitude. Our shepsky barks and speaks like a husky, she is extremely intelligent and tries to get away with things all the time.
My husky has the exact same color and fur type as this wolf dog! Which I love how it looks but the shedding it’s crazy
So where do you use the under coat rake?
just watched this...an i am shocked that i see NO comments about how crazy pretty this woman is!!😍😍
Big thanks for big help!!!
What coloring is that?
And the award for best name go to
He seems to generally like it. Which is good.
violet from THE INCREDIBLES
I tried to have a husky but the hair was just too much hair everywhere I would wind up eating it.
This is amazing
Thank you 💛💛
how do you keep from getting shocked when combing a husky? We are constantly shocking eachother and it sucks
The spray/keeping the fur damp will prevent shocking
This was amazing! :O
Now how do I do this with my hyperactive dramatic dog 😃😃😅
He is so cute 🤩
My 1 yo Husky could never 😭 he hates being groomed every time we try he sees the brushes and runs away and when we do catch him he just lays on his back and pretends to sleep and won’t move it’s like war trying to groom him meanwhile while all that’s going on my 1 1/2 yo Husky is waiting to get brushed
What a good boy
Why you look like Violet Parr from the Incredibles? Lol! Great tips btw Thanks.
Is that violet from the incredibles
How would Huskies manage in the wild? Would they perhaps need all that fluff for protection from weather? 😀
They would get super matted up, since they've been bred to be domestic.
Wild animals who shed usually use trees etc to "brush off" the excess hair/undercoats
My Husky…do not touch my butt!
We have 2 Huskies. Bruno is like this guy but Bear OMG he goes nuts and bites my hands 😬
Is it a wolf
10 puppies 🐶 speeded off. That's what I call it when I'm sweeping up the hair off of one of our pups.
My Husky girl behave like i want to kill her !! Total drama every time !
Reward her with treats so she associates grooming with something positive
that dogs more wolf than husky😮😮
Wow! That's a lot of hair.
super well behaved dog wow! my husky is good for about 1 min then is completely over it lol
Just did my husky. He was not happy at first
Why groomers in my country dont know this grooming ways. They just comb comb comb, cut cut cut. Basically zero training and experience
We do this every day or...
Yes sadly

Omg we just got a husky, I’m scared about the shedding. 😬
