    Aaron, thanks for the great install and review! As the Ford community knows, we're not always the first to market, but we sure do aim to be the best. Excited to see your real-world evaluation of the Ram-Air Rear Diff Cover and PedalMonster throttle sensitivity controller. 🏁

    2 weeks with the Banks. Engine brake is much louder and you can hear the turbo..idle is a lower tune, best I can describe it. I drank the kool-aide! Loving it!

    Thanks! You do an awesome job showing what you are doing, and why. I am a big Banks fan after watching quite a few of Gale’s videos and how in depth his research is for EVERY product that they develop. I’ve been thinking about doing this and the monster exhaust for a while now for my 21 F350 Dually, and decided to jump in. I installed the intake this afternoon in absolutely no time at all, with total confidence after watching your detailed videos. Keep up the great work! Kudos to you for the video. Kudos to Banks for the amazing product!!

    That is the best-looking fitment of any other unit I have seen. In my last truck, I installed the K&N but with this one, I think I will just stay with factory.

    I put a banks intake on my ecoboost f150 and it’s definitely breathing a hell of a lot better the factory air box just has like a 2 inch hole (just guessing didn’t measure) in the side and that’s where all the air come through and now there’s a great big opening for the ram air on top and it sucked the dust off the rad support that told me everything I need to know about the air that engine needs

    Just installed the Banks Ram Air on my 2022 F450. I had S&B on my '21 F350. Filter is definitely larger, has a slightly deeper tone, and I feel like I can hear the turbo much better with the S&B. I also feel like the installation of the Banks was slight easier, especially with the sight glass. The bolt on plexiglass versus having to pry a rubber seal around the clear plexiglass on the S&B was a nice touch. Overall, i'm extremely happy with the purchase
    Also did a Pedal Monster today and have the iDash on the way. Had the Edge Insight CTS3 and I really liked the bigger screen, but I wanted it all to work seamlessly together. According to Banks, I couldn't use the OBD "splitter and the Pedal Monster together. I didn't confirm that but thats what they claimed.

    Not sure that there's another company that puts as much attention to detail and upgrades as Banks. Gale is definitely The GOAT And still going like a Man who's half his age. And as for my Air Filtration, I'm still running a K&N / Airaid with just the cheap ass rubber gasket that's supposed to seal out the under hood hot azz air. Thankfully I, run it with a pre filter to catch the large pieces of debris. And it's a 2005 6.0l.

  • @willb7975
    @willb7975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks PTT... I've had the S&B CAI on my '17 F350 for the past 2 years with a dry filter + pre-filter sock. Replacing the dry filter today for good measure. The banks appears to be a nice unit and large filter media surface. With many "emotional" debates on stock vs. CAI, dry vs oiled, etc... the stigma does weigh in the back of my mind - what other components of the engine need to updated to gain max benefit of a CAI (hot/cold piping; turbo, fuel, exhaust, etc...). I do like the increased throaty sound and airflow moving. Combined with a tune and free flowing air in and out, i have a slight bump in mpgs. Appreciate sharing this install and option for the our 6.7 duties.

    New power stroke owner, just picked up a 2022 Tremor. I have watched several of your videos over the several weeks and its great content. My question is do you think this is a better setup than the S&B,? When I watched that video and there other products you have installed they were the greatest thing. As a new owner I am looking to only make one purchase and the videos seem to be conflicting or confusing to see the least. As a new owner I would like to see sort of an update video on best products installed to date type of video.

    I’ve only ever used aftermarket intakes on off-road vehicles if I need to change the location of the intake to go through the firewall either into the cabin or in to the cowl so that I don’t ingest water. I will say the engine responds a lot quicker so it is definitely breathing easier, but I didn’t do it to get a few horsepower. I still don’t know if I’d put one on my super duty or not.

      Our filters are lightly oiled. The MAF sensor typically gets caked in oil only when truck owners purchase cheap filters or over-oil them after a cleaning. When re-oiling your filter, only give it a light mist of oil. If it's dripping, it's too much.

      @@bankspower Here in S Texas, where I live, we seem to be in perpetual drought for the past 7-8 years. As a result, there is SO much dust - an incredibly fine dust - that gets into EVERYTHING. I’m a little worried about installing an aftermarket air filter (specifically a cloth, oiled filter) for fear that it won’t catch as much dust as a paper filter. I drive on dirt roads every day as a farmer/rancher so I endure far more dust than 99.5% of drivers - especially during these droughts. How does your filter compare to oem filters when it comes to catching and holding the small particle sizes?
      I know your filters are awesome (I used them before I moved here) but I’m curious if they’re suitable for incredibly dusty environments?

    Eww philips head bolt as an "upgrade", they are easier to lose and drop. Hex head bolts are better, magnetic sockets FTW.

    All those filters pull air from the same place. I fell for it myself. Cold air, ram air all good in N/A engines but these diesels have a turbo so it’s pointless. I personally have an S&B so I speak from experience no real hp or mpg gains

    • @bankspower

      The cooler, denser the air, the more oxygen it will contain in the same given volume. The compressor has to work less hard to compress it when its already dense. Why does the turbo struggle to make horsepower at high altitude? Because the air is thinner. Thin air is less dense (less oxygen). If we can increase the oxygen content going into the turbo, we've made the turbo more efficient, and it can therefor make the air even denser, resulting in more power. "It's like saying "who cares how hot the intake air is, I have an intercooler to cool it down." An intercooler, unless water-coupled, can only cool to ambient temp at best. The cooler the air going into the intercooler, the cooler it will be coming out of the intercooler.
