@@uplerr The magnet on the inside of the door may take a bit of water drips from rain or something, not like it's being sprayed with a hose. If these are generic factory speakers with paper cones, I definitely wouldn't appreciate it if my installer said "just fckin douse it."

I cleaned the windshield with soapy water and a squeegee 2 times, applied the guard aid tape to the windshield, then get a dampened a dry sheet with soapy water, wiped the windshield with the dryer sheet, once the windshield is dry I applied the tint, cut to fit, did a h pattern to apply the tint to the windshield, and then started shrinking the tint. The key component is to take your time when shrinking the tint.
The legend is back just in time again, been thinking about doing my front window in ceramic tint after doing the rest with awesome results from your videos man
i tinted in high school as my first real job. back then we still used wet shrinking and you had to have the fingers vertical. horizontal "waves" would 80% crease. ah memories. years later i did my cars with with the dryer method but im too old and fat to bend around anymore. i could still do it, just takes me an ass of a long time. i did windshields on the side after the local shop stopped after they cracked down on them. it was easy 300$ a pop for a while. havent touched film in 5 years but i still get the itch looking at the left over rolls i have stacked. tinting is that one thing that looks so simple but takes so much fiddly experience to do right. watching this with the context is so much more gratifying
Just goes to prove with camera on the tinter that accidents can happen to the best of us, but is all about how you correct them that proves how good you respect your craft and name!!!
@jonathanmarquez4056 Nebraska Window Tinting Laws. Nebraska window tint laws restrict windshield tint above AS-1 line. Front side windows must have 35% light transmission or more. Back side windows and rear window may have 20% VLT on passenger vehicles, or any darkness on SUVs and other multi purpose vehicles.

Have you tinted a Subaru car with eyesight cameras on the front windshield? I read up Subaru owner manual and it does not recommend tinting the windshield. I want to know if ceramic tint will affect the cameras at all.

Good job but I would recommend to squeegee middle to top and middle to bottom the same direction you shrank the fingers out. By pushing the water out to the sides, you are working against the shrink.

Your videos are very good, my questions is the slip solution, I do tinting as a business and one constant problem is the slip solution I live in Hawaii and the shop do not have air conditioner so is relativity hot, is a problem to maneuver the film on the window not mare how much soap or water, and the creasing possibilities increase exponentially, I will appreciate if you can let me know your opinion, Thank you.
Welcome! No I take care of the vehicle. Most come in pretty clean anyways. But the glass is quick to clean up so I always charge enough to where it’s a non issue of it is dirtier than usual

I haven’t but the plastic being really light weight probably wouldn’t ever stay where I need it to be and I’d be worried about water running off the sides rather than getting soaked up. But the towel still works well enough here it’s just not all the way to the end
Yea I have the original and it fell apart within a few months . I really liked it tho. but still even that towel takes up more space than I’d like for the HUD so I just left it out
Have you ever seen how some detail the inside of a vehicle? They take a garden hose to it. Takes a day for the electronics to dry out. No power put to anything nothing will be harmed!

I moved to Houston Texas I got my windshield tints in Philly. I thought they don't care I had to get it removed for inspections. Now I'm wishing I had it. It's hotter than a bitch down here. I was able to drive around for a year with tinted windshield ....

It's illegal in most states to have anything attached to front windshield. That doesn't stop people from mounting dash cam or cell phone holder to it. Semi trucks go through DOT inspections and DOT never says a word about stuff mounted to front windshield.
I think the reason why your blade wiggles is because you let it out too long. i think if you shorten your blade just enuf for you to actually feel when it cuts the tint than that should be it. Just sayin🤷♂️
It's not a shame, it's smart. There's a reason boats don't come with a tinted front windshield... And a boat operator is looking at a bright mirror aka body of water reflecting the bright sunlight..
0% titn would mean you cant see through your windshield! The % in tint is reference to the amount of light the tint lets through. But yes you can put 80% or even 90% tint wich will not be noticable but still have the UV protection qualities.
@@auggieitisarellano7645 Cool, I got it backwards, sadly the point still remains that in Australia where I live, any degree of tint on a windscreen is illegal so something 100% clear but with UV blocking properties would be ideal. UV here is harsh as F down here .
They do make windshield ceramic tint that is 70% which you can't even tell it's on there. It would still help block heat and protect against UV. Darkness in tint is for privacy not heat reduction.
That's years of work, trials, and tribulations....My luck I won't do so well if I tried. I can't do everything..at least not perfect..on my first try... I'm pulling up to get mines done.

Not in Michigan or North Dakota, you can legally tint the entire windshield.

Not in nebraska .. you can have full windshield tint ... and so can alot of other states .. people need to look at individual state tint laws

What is the difference between regular tint and ceramic tint? does ceramic tint scratch on the front doors like regular tint.
Ceramic film has metal particles in it that reflect heat. You can even do a completely clear ceramic film and it will block the heat.

That glass tape is really used for 2 reasons. 1- to show where to cut 2- to act as a buffer to prevent cutting / etching the glass while cutting

Depends on how long the water is left on there and if it soaks down into the speaker core.

White vinyl pin striping tape works fine too. Main thing is don't push down hard when cutting.
