A bromance here 😀 Two amazing doctors! Imagine if everyone followed their example. Our world would be a very different place indeed.

Good info. We need to have balance. Play is important. Don’t compare yourself to others. ❤

I love this podcast. This is what we therapists do who are certified in nutrition.

Sense & perception responds to compassionate communication. We all need an empathetic doctor.

I think we do need a “list”; a “just tell me what to eat.” This is also necessary. Having that base is crucial. It orients us when times get hectic. The frame - the skeleton of the Eat To Live plan is the brilliance of Dr. Fuhrman. Each of us fill in the spaces uniquely; and Dr. Letterman’s book sounds like a great tool for that.
Spirituality has also been central for my success with all of it.
    Great discussion, thaanks! 👍🏼

Eat Plants! Eat Strong! No processed food. Eat ingredients. Food as grown. Make your own list according to what makes you feel strong and well.

All docs should be required to take continuing education units in compassionate communication.

Non-violent communication is an art like any other art that demands practice to perfect.

I think we need to look at the lives that people who pick our food are living. We need to go beyond the idea that we can blindly go to the store and buy nutritious food and not be impacted by the situation which is bringing that food to us.

Riding a bicycle is a great way to exercise. Ebikes are bringing many older adults back to cycling.
Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan. Be healthier and happier. Ride a bicycle regularly.

Health care costs are out of control. Going WFPB vegan can save money, pain and suffering from disease.
Lower your chance of high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer by going vegan. Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices, stress reduction, improving sleep and daily exercise.

Clearly Joel didn't get the memo, podcast interviews are 2-3 hours long on average and we could have benefited from extra time with this guest
