It's always baffled me how they shut us out of programs and tell us to create our own and when we do they try and shut them down. What else baffles me is when they say there is no need for anything that's just for African American (NAACP, HBCU, etc) when they know darn well why these were created.

Clarification as to who is included in someone’s classification of “Black people” is required because women, regardless of race or ethnicity are not always treated or seen as people, even by those they share commonalities with.
Male is as much the default person as white is in America. We see this male template everywhere. The Bible and the Constitution are just some examples, but the language used by men is the most indicative and that’s why you get instances of women saying or doing something that seems off to you.
You can’t know if it hasn’t been brought to your attention. Most women can’t help but recognize these patterns because it crops up in everything, including men we love.

@@cosmo9390 Actually this would only be illegal when an entity decides they want to make an issue out of it. There are programs for people of specific religions, races, and the like already. There were programs already offered by her VC group for other 'specific racial groups'; only the one for Black women was targeted as it was literally about to closeout. She already stated that. Edward Blum wanted to use her case to basically dare her to go to SCOTUS. He ALREADY UNDERMINED THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION LAWS created by the Civil Rights struggle. As noted by her and comments above, the work continues. But so does the incessant racism against Black people in this country. Think of it this way: since forever people like him don't have a problem if Jewish, Catholic or other groups get or give specific funding for 'their' own people/congregants. They do not open it to the general public to apply; just their own. No one has an issue with that language or accuse them of discrimination. She did not say ever, that only Black women could apply for the funds, but its concepts were geared to assist Black women business owners. I'd agree with the discrimination if only one group could apply, like the religious groups seem to be 'exempt' from scrutiny on. Perhaps this too needs to be challenged, along with other targeted ways VC firms, led by primarily Caucasian males, continue to ignore whatever group of people it chooses, without being hauled into court for blatant discrimination. So rather than SUE then, as was done to her company; her path is and will remain admirable and blessed beyond measure. We are not asking for their support with business creation, we will support those who seek our (Fearless Fund's) assistance and bless them ourselves.

Antony spoke truth on the subject at hand. First comment adding another party to the situation of Govt taking advantage. Second comment added a coded hint of double standards. Third comment introduced division to the problem at hand. And I'm sure the fourth comment would have been more division attacking the third comment (racist). It's only 1 set of mfs with their foots on our necks. Money is power and power is control. Control can be guidance or phycology manipulation. Basically, I'm saying get a clue who the real enemy is then stand for something intangible such as integrity.

If they went to Supreme Court for the appeal and lost like she said the financial consequences of that would have been devastating for others. This new 200 million dollar fund is great news. They might have lose the battle with one fund but gain so much more with this new one. The ancestors would not let that grant end until they had just one grant left. Only American descendants of slaves carry the cost of slavery in our family tree so why should the program go to anyone else. Until we level the wealth gap between whites and blacks there should be 100 more programs like this. I'm sorry but this lawsuit is almost diabolical to me. You make people work 400 years for free, devalue & desecrate them, hunt them like prey, destroy their families, and afterwards take away all of their rights until just 55 years ago. Then have the audacity to sue them when they try to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I hope one day America will stand by its promises made to black people. How can a country attack and engage in warfare against it's own citizens and then sue those citizens when they try to reverse the damages inflicted on their generational wealth. There are all kinds of programs out here specifically for several minority groups but it’s always a problem when it’s for Foundational Black Americans. Because they will lose under the letter of the law. But, this is what happens when you have people who over-step their purpose in name of greed. But let's look at both sides of the coin, Richelieu Dennis (co-founder of Shea Moisture) was using portions of his company's proceeds to fund small business programs for Black women, and once he attempted to expand his customer base (to make more money), Black women boycotted him, even though making more money benefited the women who were taking advantage of his small business programs for Black women.
Here we have the American Alliance for Equal Rights, and their Fearless Fund which receives most of its funding from the government, government money that is paid into by everyone who pays taxes, and it's pointed out that if everyone is paying into the fund, then it can't be exclusive to only Black women.
No different than a public college or university that's receiving funding from state and federal grants and loans, that chooses to exclude Blacks from enrolling.

Ok, so affirmative action ends meaning ‘we don’t *have* to help you’
And also *this* happens meaning ‘and ur not gonna help urselves’
So the common denominator is *us not getting help*
am i gettin this right? Or am i making stuff up? 🤔
    🚶🏿‍♂️

Imagine being all/pro ⚪️ for 350+ years so much so anti black legislation was written into most laws. The trauma & disparities this created was never rectified. The disparities still exist and when that group attempts to do something about it, there are those that are so psychologically fragile, the resentment festers!!!

There are race specific grants, loans, housing, tuition etc that I have applied for yet was deemed ineligible. I can't apply for Native American grants, at any Local, State, Federal, level nor certain Asian American Scholarships, business loans. Let's not talk about scholarships eligible to certain visa students from abroad. Yet when it comes to Black women/men specificity it's discrimination. GTFOH!😑

It bothers people so bad that Black people can have their own thing. We still didn’t receive our 40 acres in a mule and what happened to the Harriet Tubman $20 bills it’s like they refuse to give Black people anything collectively as a group it’s despicable.

I am glad most people see the imbalance and hypocrisy. When we don’t do anything you complain , when we try to enter their spaces they discriminate , when we create something to give US a little support they complain and sue us so we don’t have access. So it is incumbent upon us to not give up on what we need to survive too. She is a real champion for marginalized women. Keep fighting the good fight.
