Tip, always remove the filler plug first, because if you drain your oil and cant remove the filler plug your screwed without any gearbox oil in the car
Very nice video. Well done. For me, the previous guy must have had the car not level, front jacked only, when he filled with new oil. So, he filled to an improper level. Hey y'all ensure your car is level when doing this procedure.
You will need - Red line MTL mini MTF 94. 17 mm socket and ratchet Drain plug and fill plug & gasket in case these strip or aren’t good. Safety glasses Drain pan Light Funnel and tube Rag Gloves
I would say yes if you put a measured quantity of oil in and don't rely on filling it until the oil starts to dribble out of the filling hole. Which would depend on the car being horizontal. In my opinion.
I don't think you can. You can pull the fill plug and stick something like a q tip in straight or barely in but filling it till it comes out the hole is what they call "full" so if it's not right around it it's prob low.
Everything not recommended for minis..types of oil trans fluids etc...yet mini is notorious for transmission issues 1st generation auto for sure and 5 speed manuals not sure on thr 6spd 1st generation. And 2006 getrag was introduced as the most reliable manuals...these cars are notorious for oil leaks etc. So not hating on you but if going by what's recommended by a company that has multiple problems that's cool but I like to use what will work not what they call for. If they have mass issues I'm not taking tips from bmw/mini but I like your videos. Iv had 2 minis an 05 S 6spd and 06 base 5spd. Still have the 06.

Now that is a simple, but valuable piece of information there!!
Exactly what I thought. Great tip.

Thanks for showing how to fill oil from the top.
Thanks for the video.
Good job and thanks for posting the video. Very helpful.
Nice and easy to follow.
FYI for the Cooper S the plugs are on the passanger side and use an allen wrench.

I own a mini cooper s 2006 with manual transmission and Dynamic stability control system (DSC). Can you use the same fluid that you recommend?
did you need to do a specific fluid circulation procedure after the change? thx.
What is the outside diameter of the hose used? And what can be done if you only have two axle stands.

How do you check the transmission fluid to see if it needs replacement?!

What width hose to add the fluid?
What happens if someone changed it on a tilt!
How many quarts? Or how much?
Dealer told me it takes 1.7 liter
@@juanlanda2441 is 2 liters! Some put in 2,5 because the box is so weak.
@@juanlanda2441 dealer is lying to you. The R50 takes 2.0q and the Cooper S takes 1.7q. I used BMW Ista+/D to verify.
