I’m not a transmission expert nor a mechanic, however; who in their right mind would come up with such a complicated design just to conveniently use an auto or Semi auto as a manual. Just stick to old fashion way ffs, either go full auto or full manual. If I knew about this problem I would have purchased my car with a manual gearbox. Plain and simple

After 100 000km, i Changed the whole mechatronic in my AISIN q tronic gearbox like 6 month ago, the gearbox now feels perfect.unfortunately in the small country i am currently found no one can diagnose the mechatronic other than thru OBD reader.For a company found in Bulgaria its impressive.keep it up

I’ve read the 2009 and later VW DSG units are pretty reliable but after watching this I think I’ll stick with manual for my next car. Looks complicated and complicated usually means expensive. Brilliant video though 😀
this is not dsg, dsg is more fragile, i have nag1 and no problem, i drive it as manual, when change gear, release gas pedal, change oil every 15-20 000km
Crazy good quality video to promote a company and services! Although I wonder how expensive such repairs can be. Perhaps it makes a lot of sense to just swap a broken transmission with a used one from a junkyard yard.
Great explaination.. Basically the major cause of seal/piston failure is excessive metal particles suspended in the fluid that become abrasives in tight tolerance areas...the materials in the friction plates are probably the biggest culprit
@@AridersLifeYT the DSG is and can be verry a good automatic transmission, but every automatic has a point where it mabey breaks down completely or by a little marge. i recently had my clutch pack+ flywheel repaired for my 2011 golf 6 DSG 7. and i founded out that also the mechatronic unit needs to be replaced or repaired. so and i believe the mechatronic is the most expensive of those 3 parts that are essential for the DSG! so i thumb for you and lets hope the best.
My 1.4 tsi cupra is leaking Dsg fluid from the gearbox today. Anyone know what this could be. It’s all under the engine bay and dropped down the side of the gearbox and engine. Where do I start?
internal Speed Sensor - Y3/8N2 , gear locks in limp mode to reset you have to stop the car , i sent the conductor plate to cicuitboardmedics and they fix it saves you a lot of money, if you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself there are plenty of videos how to do it

mark Philpot there are sealed and there is no oxygen inside so the oil doesn’t degrade. The oil runs in near ideal conditions, that’s why they say it’s lifetime, however over many miles it still might need an fluid change. But then if something gets wrong and oxygen comes in it will degrade the oil much quicker
I have a Mercedes Benz B class turbo and the gearbox is 722. 801 (seven speed ) automatic transmission. I certainly hope that this gearbox never goes wrong because I fear that the repairs would be expensive ! So far I am very happy with this vehicle.
We are living in a disposable world now, replacing the valve body or any part for that matter is becoming a more viable option. It is sometimes cheaper then reconditioning and has a lot more of a chance to fix the problem and extend its operating life.

i bought a new one, because my mercedes sprinter shifts all the way up to the 5th gear, while i'm still doing 20mph, so i need to shift back and then up again manualy or else the engine is running in way too low rpm. And it only shifts back when i'm almost standing still, and also the kick down doesn't work. The weird thing is that it doesn't have this problem all the time, because at some brief moments it's running fine, mostly when it's still cold at the first drive of the day. and, when i'm driving at top speed, it feels like as if the engine is stuttering, so more like as if the engine is turned on and off, but then like 3000 or whatever times a minute. so could this all be caused by that cunductor plate? (i hope so, because otherwise it would mean that there's another problem i don't know of, and that would suck, because i also heared stories about a broken wiring loom, and that's out of my league, because i'm not an electronics fan. I have this 2011 sprinter for 3/4 year now, and before this one i had a 1995 sprinter, and that one did had good old fasion thick copper wires, but this modern piece of shit has wires that are as thin as a needle, so fragile as hell, so no wonder that i hear those stories of a broken wire, and what a pain in in the ass it can be to find it. So please tell me that it wil be over when i swap that fantastic happy plastic, because that damn van is already taking more attention than the average wife!
@@3DPeter don't just throw parts at it.. Either take it to mercedes to get it connected to a diagnostic or get something like the icarsoft mb ii. It's like a computer that reads anything wrong with a mercedes. You can also use it to check the values of the solenoids on the conductor plate. But I would also read any stored or pending codes on the engine. Transmission shouldn't create a sputtering engine. Sounds more like you have a few different issues going on.
I would imagine that you see a lot of VW 09G valve bodies. Those cars are notorious for shifting problems. I don't know how bad it is with the newer one like in my 2013 Passat but the early ones were known to be problematic.
Not a single trans issue on out 08' Passat with 09G since we bought it. I did one fluid change at 90,000km and plan on doing my next at 170,000 and so forth into the future, because ill keep this car probably 17-18 years.

I am afraid that it could cause something worse
The good old 5G Tronic 722.6, that thing like to slip gears when you tow stuff, likes to kill the output shaft speed sensor cable and most importantly like sto leak atf from the connector plug essentially starving the transmission of oil without a single error message
The problem is, dsg transmission problems often result in totalling the vehicle (particularly in VWs). Sure, if you have a shop that has all this high tech equipment to test and rebuild the mech unit, you are still spending big money. Replacing with a new mech is pretty pricey and, in my experience, it is a gamble. Then, there is still a big chance the problem persists or comes back soon, resulting in complete transmission replacement. I got tired of trying to go the mechatronic replacement route and ultimately having the uncomfortable conversation with customers that the fix didn't work and now they need a whole transmission. Talk about pissed! Now, my shop never replaces mech units. It is better to put a used transmission in and get rid of the car or just cut your losses altogether.

That's why manual transmission still the best, when automatic transmission failed very expensive to repair and very complex component parts due to lots of sensors from electronics + mechanics.

Hi! My car is Nissan xtrail 2008 model and full automatic. The problem is that when the car is running on the highway at 85 to100, the pickup does not otten and vibrates a lot. It can't catch any mechanic because if you go to the mechanic then the car is good because if you drive at 80 there is no problem even the computer can't catch this problem. I have been having this problem for a long time. If you could give me a solution, I would be very much benefited 🙏

I am on your side. Automatics gave me one advantage of mastering and loving manual gearboxes.
I was worked 6 years for Nissan as a CAD engineers and the "fluid pad" is the most crazy item for the automatic transmission.

VW Dsgs arent that good, the 6 speed is pretty decent but the 7 speed has a lot of problems.
I love Bimmer transmissions / ZF units...

Just pick aisin automatics made, they were more reliable than most zf, getrag or borg warner auto trans.
BMW still offers H pattern manuals in most of their brand new cars.

i wanna ask you please, i have a subaru xv crosstreck, i performed myself a fluid change following the MT chanel here in youtube, ive always flet something strange and i thougt the new cvt fluid could fix, or at less soft the problem...it kept going and i saw a video explaining how often this transmition have a failure in the tork lock up solenoid...ive measure my solenoid and i saw one of them not measures properlly... it seems to be it...bad solenoid...my question is...can a bad solenoid ruin or brake a good torque converter?...should i try to fix this as soon as posible?...subaru dosent sell only solenoid...they give the entyre valve body...its ok if i buy only solenoid from amazon or ebay?...thank you very much.
Hi! My car is Nissan xtrail 2008 model and full automatic. The problem is that when the car is running on the highway at 85 to100, the pickup does not otten and vibrates a lot. It can't catch any mechanic because if you go to the mechanic then the car is good because if you drive at 80 there is no problem even the computer can't catch this problem. I have been having this problem for a long time. If you could give me a solution, I would be very much benefited 🙏

transmission working absolutely fine just I’m getting error repeatedly Gearbox is overheating change driving style .. and fault code is P1765 hydraulic sensor 2 adaptation limit reached ( g194).. the local mechanic recommend to change valve body ..
