@ yep originally because I wanted the idea of The Dividend Experiment (the concept/rules) to stand alone as an idea not be attached to me as a person, then it just carried on that way as habit. Feel like it’s been animation video + the mascot for so long it would be weird to switch now plus it’s convenient to make these types of videos while travelling compared to set up filming myself with good lighting etc.
I started investing 18 months ago and copied this pie for half my portfolio. Since then I have broken the link and sold a few of the positions to consolidate into ones I like more. Was a great introduction to investing to get started.
So did I, it was just throwing dividends in to companies that were being subsidised or carried. I de-linked. With £10K in it, I made 3% and cut my losses. It was an expensive mistake.
Thanks for sharing and giving me confidence in Trading 212! I’ve been exploring options for opening my first Stocks and Shares ISA account, and this really helped.
Unless you retired, go for a combination of dividend and capital growth. Otherwise, stick it in a 5% cash income account. UK, compared to the US, is more dividend orientated but look at their capital growth as a result. S&P 500 doubled in the time the FTSE100 has gone backwards. Couple with the fact the pound is now crashing so assets in dollars rise in pound terms. Dividend investment has its place , but if you starting out new to this game, go more for growth.
Hi Jubair, thanks for the video. I’m still learning. Two questions spring to mind. The first is is there a charge if I want to copy a pie? Second question would be when you read balanced pies are there any charges or losses? Thank you in advance.
@@soyboypersonalfinance1138 those are unusual choices to compare it to but it has definitely underperformed those. It's underperformed a 100% Nvidia portfolio too
Small, very small dividends, no growth, subsidising failing companies, you don't get dividends each day and need to wait until a minimum is reached before it reinvests. I wouldn't advise using it. I lost money by using it compared to how I could have invested.
New investor here or be the video. I’m liking the look of this pie and thinking about starting to invest into it with the spare £50 a month I have for the long term of 30-35 years. Is £50 a month for this pie enough or do I need to invest more into it
The minimum recommended amount is £400, so once you have accumulated that, you should start to see those daily dividends. It also takes a while for thr initial dividends to start coming in as they all have different ex-dividend dates
thought it was informative like always you outlined a few facts on how this pie isn’t suited for me mostly i want a hands off approach from investing so the effort of manually updating the pie s prioritising dividends over growth isn’t for me. in a video could you do a part explaining the stop , limit, stop limit maybe i’m over thinking it and stop and limit is the same thing as stop/limit but why would there be a other section ?
Thanks for having me on Jubair!
You're very welcome Chris! Thanks for participating.
We never see your face divexp. Any reason for this?

@TheDividendExperiment fair enough. Sounds very batman ish. Divexp is the hero we didn't know we needed and very much the hero we got.
@@lordblackwood880 haha I like that
Great video. Interesting to see the history behind the Daily Dividend Pie and also how successful and popular it has become.
Thanks so much professor!

What did you tweak out of interest?
I think it's a great motivator for sure, I wouldn't put my life savings in it, but it helped me get started in the beginning with Trading 212

Great video! Learnt a lot about daily dividends pie

Great explanation. If you’re younger take more risk,
Just to ask if it's possible to put the pie into a Stocks and Shares ISA?
Yes it is
Of course
Yeah mine is

No charges for copying a pie or rebalancing. Position losses may occur with automatic rebalancing though.
@ thank you for that. I’m guessing it’s best to do the pie and both the London exchange and US market are open at the same time.
@@Simon-uj6qo Also for this pie worth being aware there will be 0.15% fx fee as all positions are US-listed in $
@@TheDividendExperimentthank you for that. Although 0.15% soon accumulates. Is there a similar UK pie?
The daily divided pie is fun but I think it has and probably will continue to underperform 😬😬. However it can be could to keep some people motivated
Underperformed what though? It's outperformed the ticker it's benchmarked to over each tracking period so far

@ thanks for the reply and so put £400 into start with and £50 a month will be good. Or £400 each month is recommended

@macanjeez I've recently made a video about these stop limit stuff, have you checked that out?
I took it apart and sold off most of the rubbish in it.
Love you brother ❤️

Yeah probably, but they work for me at the moment
