I’m already dollar cost averaging but I’ve been holding onto a lot of cash as well. I recently put most of it into stocks because it was just sitting there. Most of it went to dividend stocks so I’m not too worried. The goal is to invest for dividend and the stocks were at a recent low so I’m not worried long term. Sooner I start the more dividends I’ll have to reinvest.

    • @alexyoung3126

Dividends are dope. Personally, I sometimes use my dividends to buy other dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same stock. To each their own methods though. The good thing is that you’re investing in the first place and that’s what’s important. Salute for the content!

As of summer 2022, I withdrew most of my money from banks. Being retired, I keep about 3 months of expenses in my checking account. I also keep money in another bank. Of course, with prices rising, it's not too difficult to meet the three-month limit. Put some of it in I bonds straight from the Treasury 2022 and put more in 2023. I've followed a similar approach (investing in dividend stocks over decades) but currently have a yield of about 2.7%, so my monthly income (on a similar sized portfolio) is quite a bit less, but still pretty good nonetheless. I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. In my portfolio, I'm noticing more red than green. I'm 47, and earn nothing less $150k per year, but nothing to show for it yet

Since the crash, I've been in the red. I’m playing the long term game, so I'm not too worried but Jim Cramer mentioned there are still a lot of great opportunities, though stocks has been down a lot. I also heard news of a guy that made $250k from about $110k since the crash and I would really look to know how to go about this.

Wall Street pitched so-called quality stocks with high profitability and low debt, as a kind of insurance against whatever the economy might throw at you. Quality stocks have underperformed the S&P500 this year, waiting may not be the best decision for investors. It might sound basic or generic, but getting in touch with a financial adviser was how I was able to outperform the market and raise a profit of $350,000 since Jan 2022. For me, its the most ideal way to jump into the fin-market these days.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg.
