      Yeah, that and a bad line. He didn’t look confident, so maybe new to the sport. He certainly dove that left front wheel into a hole and braked at the same time, pitching the cog forward and left at the same time.
      Easy to say, I know from the comfort of my chair, but that’s my take on it.

    • @sweet65mustang
      @sweet65mustang 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly! I was just going down an extremely steep hill on my atv and I started tipping forward, rear tires lifted off and were about to come up and over behind me. I had one play, stab the throttle through the steep part and worry about the creek at the bottom when I got there. A nube would have panicked, grabbed brakes and sped up the process of wearing that 800lb machine as an ass hat. Sometimes you just have to power through.
      On a side note, can you imagine thinking you were going to roll off the hill and wondering if you were going to stop on that flat by the base of the waterfall or continue on down the hill?

    I am pretty sure this is the steps section of that trail, where many rollovers happen. What is being done incorrectly is they are dropping the left from wheel down first and that sends the right rear wheel up in the air. They need to be approaching more to the right and then turn and let both sides of the from come down the steps. That is what I think is happening. I have not driven this trail, but I have watch a number of incidents on this part of the trail on You Tube and the one's who are successful on this part square up and bring both sides of the front down at the sometime. Maybe someone that has actually taken this trail should comment on their analysis of how to take these steps successfully. It is a shame to see so many rigs get badly damaged on this part of the trail.

    The guide is just watching, also hard braking on locked wheels on a steep terrain is tragic!

    Yep just another Toyota owner thinking they spent 40.000 on a real 4-wheel drive!! I've driven that road in a 1970's dozer top to bottom & vice versa with zero suspension travel trying to recover these granola's that come from Boulder thinking they can wheel....🙈 Fyi, happened right above a section called '' Bear bait"...if this would've happened another couple hundred yards further.....☠

    And I call myself a chicken shit for not doing those weird angled offset obstacles. I know when one wheel gets stuffed that the others are NOT helping!!!!! I call this the tuck and roll~

    lack of articulation due to lift. People don't realize that when you lift, you gain up travel but if you lift too much you lose down travel. Yes you need clearance to prevent rubbing on the ground. It's hard to see but i feel he rolled due to almost no suspension articulation. It's not an IFS thing exactly, but a Solid axel probably would've been fine here.

    someone should start or write a book on spotting, rolling, and 4 wheeling jeeps, toyotas, etc, uphill and downill!
