The KEY Mk ii vs Mk i

There are 5 primary areas where the KEY Mk2 has evolved from its predecessor, all thanks to the tremendous feedback from our earliest adopters. We thought the Mk1 was pretty special, but the Mk2 is a remarkable advancement.
- 50% torque increase
- Magnetic dust lid
- Integrated bean feeder (housing bottom bearing, allowing for greater dosing)
- Swappable wood accents
- Updated magic tumbler wiper for reduced static and even less retention.
Due to inevitable changes in architecture to make the advancements possible, only the last item (tumbler wiper improvements) would be retrofittable to an Mk1. Wherever possible we strive to make changes backward-compatible, but sometimes evolution requires changing shape to move forward. We are quite confident the Mk ii is here to stay for a while.

I really hope Weber doesn't forget the initial MK-I owners, at least give them a way to upgrade else it'd be hard to convince folks to back future projects

I'm quite sad the magnetic lid isn't compatible with mark 1. Are there any attachments we can buy other than the bean feeder for the mark 1?

Thanks for the feedback. We tried to make improvements backward-compatible where possible, but prioritized making it better and fully future-proof with all the great feedback from the initial backers.
