I'm 60 and Tommy Shaw and Paul Rogers were the voices I remember the most. There were lots of other people but they have both sang some of most amazing music from my era.
Tommy has written so many classics. Blue Collar Man, Too Much Time On My Hands, Renegade, Crystal Ball, Never Say Never, Fooling Yourself. . . the list goes on. It's like he's a radar for some cozmic energy or something!
Here I am rockin out wishing that this music would come back, My 12 yo tells me this is ancient music- I am dropping her off at the Fire station unclaimed child😛. What she doesn't know is that from now on this song will be blasting every chance I get, she will love it.
Tommy Shaw and Company just kocking it out the bleeping box. Tommy has definitely taken well care of himself especially being 70 and still having that powerful voice. Most great singers are toast after 10 years nevermind 40+ years of singing these high register songs. Definitely was a great collaboration and made Mr. Shaw extremely happy and all us watching as well ✌🏻♥️
Hay Daryl when a singer / musician like Tommy Shaw wants to go over vocal harmonies for a song like renegade with you and the band ..Zip it and take the direction! Yikes! Tommy did a great job on being Humble such a class act and so talented 🙏
Well said. What is made obvious by that clip in particular is that although Hall penned some substantial hits back in the day, he is not a versatile performer. Hall absolutely murdered that song. Shaw did his level best to rescue it.
@@tbam73 For instance: 1:00 - 1:15...off tempo, off harmony, just doing whatever pleases him with no reference to the original material, unlike the rest of his band.
Man, just the vibe is incredible - brings a tear to my eye. All of you were my youth and it is GLORIOUS to hear you still hammering it down. Fantastic would only be an understatement.
I would have loved to see Mark Knopfler as a guest at Daryl´s House! But this.. Tommy Shaw is awesome! I have known Stys "forever", but just lately started listen to their music.
Oh man this was excellent but I am a big Mark Knopfler fan. Seen him perform live, met him in Chicago and shook his hand after a 4 hr show. I will never forget it. I hope that he has him on one day!
great stuff man would be a riot to get ian gillan, paul rodgers, glenn hughes, roger waters or david gilmour would be epic as an avid floyd nut. love it all
Such a great and rocking 🎸 Episode of LFDH 🔥🔥🔥 wonderful Tommy Shaw....love each of your amazing Episodes 💖 @realdarylhall You are my Secret Love 💖 Lovely Greetings from Hamburg 🇩🇪 Germany ✨
Espectacular perfomance......armonias vocales y guitarras que aullan como los reactores de un F100 super sabre......fenomenales mis felicitaciones from argentina in mar del plata city on the atlantic coast
They were chuckling at Tommy, they know how to play it but it's Tommy's masterpiece, of course he's picky. Daryl may be worth more but not as famous as TS.

65 and still running from the law

Rock on 🤘
67 here.
Agree. Production had a lot to do with it, but the wonderful result was that you could actually and clearly hear the lyrics of each singer.
Absolutely! This was amazing
...I saw Styx in /82 at the CNE grandstand in Toronto.
Sharing this one for who was arguably the best guest Daryl ever had on that show.
Most definitely!!!!
Tommy and Billy Gibbons, my favs.
@@joesteel3200It's difficult to be sure 😂 1:15
Feel ya, but watch the show with Joe Walsh. It's fantastic!
Yes!!!!!
Tommy shaw!! What a great voice!!
That was my favorite. Tommy Shaw is still in fantastic voice.
When the beginning of this song would start on FM radio... 🙂
This really showcases Daryl's incredibly powerful voice...would have loved to sit in on this one for sure!
Daryl got the blues fo' sho'.
I loved Tommy back in Styx days. Then in late 80’s/90’s with Damn Yankees. Master at harmonies.
One of the most important songs of my childhood. Tommy thank you for singing this song it’s kept me in check when I was very young.
Amazing. Tommy Shaw hasn't lost a step. Voice is amazing.
Darryl has had so many stellar guests. Tommy is up there on the list for sure.
Missing T-bone on this mix though.
Nothing else compares to musicians jamming garage style.
Do you realize that this jam session has better vocals than 90% of today’s…….
Music?
I concur.
Love Tommy Shaw. Amazing voice.. ❤
Just WOW. What a great version.
Shaw played Youngs guitar parts well, you can really tell the difference. He's the calming presence to Youngs chaotic-ness
Tommy Shaws “Les Paul” sounds so good
Where is his Flying V
I've known Tommy since we were 19 or 20, it's not the guitar.
Tommy has written so many classics. Blue Collar Man, Too Much Time On My Hands, Renegade, Crystal Ball, Never Say Never, Fooling Yourself. . . the list goes on. It's like he's a radar for some cozmic energy or something!
OUTSTANDING!!!!
Love Tommy on that show they were good together
Awesome🎉
"Let's make it ours." Hell yeah. I love musicians who jam and play so well.
This is super awesome! Sick guitars! Love it😎😎😎
Fucking awesome

One month later does she like the song now?
Not very often in the music bizz can you say that your in the presence of greatness.tommy shaw is on that list
I'm thrilled to see Daryl and Tommy perform my favorite song together. It's amazing Tommy's voice hasn't changed at all!

No way Tommy still sounds that good at 70!
I'm 64 great rock n roll. Real music, old school evergreen ❤

And try some manners by answering the fkg door when your guest arrives.

@@58icarusHe sang it in a lower register with a few blues riffs. How did he murder the song exactly?

Really?
Tommy is the super nova of talent!! Some parts of this song, his voice sounded like Steve Perry. Amazing!!!
That's exactly how he sounded by the "blue collar" song
Love Tommy ya know he ha aged well. Still jamming
Man, just the vibe is incredible - brings a tear to my eye. All of you were my youth and it is GLORIOUS to hear you still hammering it down. Fantastic would only be an understatement.
Daryl has many great artists invited. Class musicians.
Never will the original be replaced. Egos need to checked.
Tommy’s voice. Wow! Blew me away.
Cool they both legends
Tommy Rocks!
This is amazing! Wow! Hahahaha, anyone notice the sign on the wall? More Cow Bell 🤣
This was the most fun Daryl’s house with Tommy Shaw, Those songs sounded awesome!
Tommy can come knocking at my door 😂😂😂😂
Yes indeed..I wouldn't turn him away either😊
This is absolutely kick ass. Tommy and Daryl meld very very well. You boys kicked ass top to bottom, front to back.
This is a “wanted song”! Love It!!!!!!!!!!
Best of the best!

They need to do a concert together
damn what a fine ensemble. special call out to brian on tubs. such superb feel!
All I can think is The Pittsburgh Steelers , which always plays this song every home game! The stadium rocks and terrible towels wave❤

Just saw Tommy and STYX in Salt Lake City. He sounded great! He's definitely still got it!!
Kids know nothing of talented , soulful music.its up to the rest of us to school them ,so make sure you share.
Kids love that SATANIC rap garbage 🗑 😢

T-Bone approved of that one for sure!

When Daryl loses his voice track, he just shakes his head all around and hopes the audience follows him. He's such A Rich Girl.
Well done.

I HONESTLY FORGOT WHO DARRYL HALL WAS FOR A MOMENT I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE IT
also Styx has gotta be my second favorite band
😂😂😂 0:52
So slow. But it still works.
Tommy Shaw is an astonishing musician.
Renegadecellet
This was rehearsed which is great. Why not admit it?
Tommy sounds better now. Decades later
Not a big deal, but should maybe have a footswitch for your talking voice vs your singing voice. Different eq/hpf. Anyways, sounds great!
Is Daryl’s guitar plugged in? Lol
They were chuckling at Tommy, they know how to play it but it's Tommy's masterpiece, of course he's picky. Daryl may be worth more but not as famous as TS.
I would rather the guy in front of the more cowbell sign , sing over Hall instead
Is it just me or does Tommy remind you of David Spade here
Nah. Tommy Shaw actually has talent.
Better than the original??! 🙂
