Stoked for a new project! 🍻 $4k seems about right to me, especially for someone who knows how to work on it. Congrats on the Ford too, looks like another good deal! Prerunner would be badass and different from Jeeps.
I vote fixing it up nice to resell. I’d like to see how the body work comes out, and just refreshing things to make it look better. I agree the wheels and tires gotta go.
My 2006 Taco refuses to give up.All the fireman I work with have newer Gladiators, f150’s, silverados, ect, yet my 2006 mountain goat just works. I love that its analog enough that it still feels like a truck. Its the one vehicle ill keep until is seizes or rusts in half.
Looks like a great Truck to bring back to life! Looking forward to the updates! $4k ain't too bad at all given the smashed passenger side body and cut fenders. A Desert Runner build would be pretty sweet.
YESSSS!!! Stoked to see another norcal yota rescued! Sad to see the 3rd gen go, but wise choice! I think 4k was a good deal even if it's a little beat... that just means more content from Mike! I vote for you to build a dual purpose set up! Like long travel that can crawl! Like KOH style rig.
$4000 is a good price. got mine not too long ago for $7500, but it wasn't beat up like yours. I'm subscribing so I can see it turn into a ROCK CRAWLER!!! I will need some 'how-to' videos so I can build mine!. Can't wait to see the end result for this truck. Keep the vids coming!
SAS and flat bed - rock crawler style. Fix the front end to look nice but make it capable of clearing 37's. You might actually still make money on it cause that would be a killer truck. I miss my first gen.
I would absolutely love to see a prerunner build. It would also kind of fix the dents in the bed if you were to buy bedsides. Overall it’s a sick little truck. My friend has a little single cab and it’s fun to drive.
Love how transparent and genuine you are with everything. Even little thing like the price you paid. I know so many people are weird about that for some odd reason lol Can’t wait to see what you do with this project dude.
Ultimately up to you in the end what you want to do with it. I think it would be cool to see you do a SAS build with it. I understand though making a profit is always nice and if you go that route I dont't think anyone will be dissapointed. Love the videos, keep it up!
My favorite 4x4 channel. I drive a 2013 GX460. All the work you do is amazing, especially utilizing recourses. I love it. I'm surprised you sold the Taco, but financially that makes sense to grow the channel. PS. Ill give you 5k for the truck. 4k, what a price!
Yessir!!! I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4 wheel drive! I love first gens!!! Their is so much you could go to these trucks! Super dependable, fun, easy to work on, sexy, and the list goes on and on! Super excited to see what you do with this truck!! Taco 4 life!!! 🌮
Found your channel when you started working on the Taco and been watching every video since. I’m glad you stumbled across a community that wants more content. Keep grinding!
Man, you didn't have to go out there and get us all a Christmas present! But you did, and I am super stoked! I can't wait to see this new project. I would like to see you sell for profit, mainly because I feel it would provide the most content because of how much needs fixing, but you do you man, I'll be watching regardless.
Love these 1st Gen Taco's! 🌮Plenty of work to keep you busy! It's going to be fun to watch the transformation. I vote Prerunner but hey it's your Taco fix it up the way you like it! 👍
I gotta say mike, a lot of people wouldnt sell a supercharged gen 3 for a gen one beat up taco. But if anyone can make it work it’s you 🤙🏻 I’m excited to see what you do to it
E locker rear end is solid. My old 98 had over 300k miles on it and literally no issues. Fab tech shocks are boat anchors. My dad has some on his 2001 and I’ve literally never ridden in a rougher riding truck. Bilstein 5100’s are an upgrade and a fraction of the cost when it comes to ride comfort.
You got a steal in today's market i gave 3000 for mine 2 years ago was bone stock didnt have a v6 and body was in almost the same shape other than bed was replaced still needed a paint job till I wrecked it lol
It's an alright deal, but I think $3500 would have been better for it. I'd say flip it to get something better! It also serves as a learning experience for doing body work.
Damn dude, it’s badass how you know so much about fixing cars and have so much knowledge. I don’t even know half the stuff you’re saying but still entertaining to watch 😂
Congrats on the new Ford and Toyota and for selling the previous Toyota! Really enjoyed the last project. It sounds like you want to keep your Jeep forever, if that's the case, it may be a good idea to turn and burn a profit on this one and free up some cash on future projects. Doing a restoration project for profit sounds like a good series. Good luck and keep up the great work
That’s a steal for what it is. Most people will say it’s trash and not worth it. But you can get a bed for around $700 and it won’t cost that much to get that suspension running well. Ditch the wheels/tires. Put it on 35s with lighter wheels Fix the body damage as much as you can. Make a cool bumper for the back and some sliders and you’ll be able to sell that thing for 15k
you’re the man, i came for you your personally that is what stuck with me and your channel is awesome. hope this new year continues to go great and you keep living and expanding your channel for the future
As a fellow 1st gen owner I’d love to see a nice long travel build. Total chaos makes a great kit for the 1st gen. Excellent price for that unit and I can’t wait to see how it turns out
Man I support the natty ice but I can’t for the life of me support the decision to sell the 2018 taco! From the owner of a 2016 taco, that build you did was so awesome. Looking forward to this one too 🤙🏻
Stoked for you! Be careful with that 6 leaker though. That can drain all your funds very quickly. Your wheeling vids are super cool but you have the XJ for that so I suggest clean the new Tacoma up for resell so you can get another interesting vehicle
Love your channel mate, well done keeping new projects coming. You could try giving the seatbelts some good wash, it can help to retract them. Did it on my toyota van some years ago and it actually made a difference.
Super excited about everything in this video. Excited to see the F250 and what you do with it. Also I think selling the Tacoma for another project was smart for your TH-cam channel. I'd love to see a prerunner build with this truck
got an 01 same color 5 speed 3.4 i love that truck cant wait to see more video on it !!! oh and i paid 7K canadian money for mine it was bone stock but ad the frame recall done in 2016 ad a little bit of rust to fix ( road salt ) so yeah you got a good deal on it i guess haha :P
4k is a deal! I got an clean title 170k mile 04 taco and paid nearly 11 grand for it, looking back I wish I would have gotten something more like this one, so I’d have more stuff to fix on! Love the videos man let’s see made into a Prerunner 🤟🤟
Super smart keep the project's coming bro 🍻
Will do 🫡
Stoked for a new project! 🍻 $4k seems about right to me, especially for someone who knows how to work on it. Congrats on the Ford too, looks like another good deal! Prerunner would be badass and different from Jeeps.
That’s not only a good deal for that taco but that Ford as well! I think you should make it into a pre runner and send it!
Good idea!
I vote fixing it up nice to resell. I’d like to see how the body work comes out, and just refreshing things to make it look better. I agree the wheels and tires gotta go.
Same
"I think we need some more beer" 🍻
Pre runner would be siiick
My 2006 Taco refuses to give up.All the fireman I work with have newer Gladiators, f150’s, silverados, ect, yet my 2006 mountain goat just works. I love that its analog enough that it still feels like a truck. Its the one vehicle ill keep until is seizes or rusts in half.
I relate it a lot to my Civic, it just feels like a quality Japanese vehicle. I get why people like them
Looks like a great Truck to bring back to life! Looking forward to the updates! $4k ain't too bad at all given the smashed passenger side body and cut fenders. A Desert Runner build would be pretty sweet.
Can not wait!! Glad you decided to start a project. We are all big fans of you and are going through this journey together.
I was hoping you would sell the last truck and get another. Good find. Cant wait to see it restored
Sad to see the old truck go, but I hear ya. The project was done and I'm excited to see what you do with the new build.
A few years ago I would have called $4k an OK/reasonable deal. Now it's a great deal.
Pre-runner brother. Would love to watch the process. Really enjoyed the work on your Tacoma. Excellent price by the way.
Cant wait to see you fix this thing up loved your last Tacoma series!
Thank you dood!
Thanks for watching!
SAS and flat bed - rock crawler style. Fix the front end to look nice but make it capable of clearing 37's. You might actually still make money on it cause that would be a killer truck. I miss my first gen.
They’re fun trucks!
I would absolutely love to see a prerunner build. It would also kind of fix the dents in the bed if you were to buy bedsides. Overall it’s a sick little truck. My friend has a little single cab and it’s fun to drive.
Sad day to see that 3rd gen gone. Stoked to see what you end up doing with this!
Prerunner would be a fun build. You could still sell it once you're finished and keep the content going. Excited to see more videos.
Looking forward to the project ! Absolutely loved the last Tacoma build …let’s get er started !
do anything with it just upload more haha great content!
I will! Stick around 👍🏻
Love how transparent and genuine you are with everything. Even little thing like the price you paid. I know so many people are weird about that for some odd reason lol
Can’t wait to see what you do with this project dude.
Good move Mike. You have the natural talent to make this channel work. I enjoy your content. Keep it coming.
Thank you clay!
The crunchy Taco. Love it.
Ultimately up to you in the end what you want to do with it. I think it would be cool to see you do a SAS build with it. I understand though making a profit is always nice and if you go that route I dont't think anyone will be dissapointed. Love the videos, keep it up!
Super stoked about this one! Congrats on the new addition!
Sad to see the 3rd gen go, but excited for what you do with this one!
Seeing as how the fenders and bedsides are already cut up, I’d say this thing has a future as a crawler on 1 tons. Nice find!
Id like to see it cleaned up and somewhat restored! Miss my 2002, fun little trucks
You're going to have so much fun with this thing. Can't wait to see the build!
clean it up and flip it! with a new bed and some body work this truck is a 9-11k truck all day.

Keep the truck, clean it fix it and then sell it.... I'd love to see the whole project from start to finish. Cheers.
Check out some other videos! The truck has come a long way!
Found your channel when you started working on the Taco and been watching every video since. I’m glad you stumbled across a community that wants more content. Keep grinding!
Very stoked you went this direction. I'll be watching for sure
Also 4k for the taco was a pretty damn good deal
Man, you didn't have to go out there and get us all a Christmas present! But you did, and I am super stoked! I can't wait to see this new project. I would like to see you sell for profit, mainly because I feel it would provide the most content because of how much needs fixing, but you do you man, I'll be watching regardless.
The new taco should be an overland rig.. I'm looking forward to this adventure.
Love these 1st Gen Taco's! 🌮Plenty of work to keep you busy! It's going to be fun to watch the transformation. I vote Prerunner but hey it's your Taco fix it up the way you like it! 👍
I would be really interested to see some fab work for a bed replacement system
Thats a second gen taco! Nice ride man the taco initially is what brought me here, nice addition!
man that's a grow dozer for sure. Any truck coming out of the emerald triangle will need every bushing and ball joint replaced asap.
I was a bit sad that you sold the 3rd gen but now I’m excited to see how this 1st gen comes out. 👍
Sweet deal! Stoked to see you got another yota, can’t wait to see what you do with it, I suggest a crawler 🤙🏼
Wooo!
@@mikes4x4garage jump it! you already have a crawler! or flip er
I gotta say mike, a lot of people wouldnt sell a supercharged gen 3 for a gen one beat up taco. But if anyone can make it work it’s you 🤙🏻 I’m excited to see what you do to it
Maybe a budget rock crawler/ good deal
Mike do you catch a lot of grief from the neighbors?? lol I look forward to following along on the new one.
You’re earning a reputation in the Toyota game. Keep it up!
This seems like the start of a more hands on, mechanic's version of Hoovie's Garage. Stoked for it!
I love your vids! I live in the area and wheel the same trails in my Tacoma! I’m stoked for all your future projects!
I'll be with you every step of the way. Really enjoy your content. I think it's a good deal imop.
Patiently checking everyday for the next upload in this series lol. Anyone else ? Keep the content coming!!
4x4 prerunner/trail truck rebuild those shocks they are great for the fast boi stuff in trucks cut and reweld them shackle hangers though
This project actually looks more fun than the last. I so glad to see you starting another. Last one was fun
You got a steal in today's market i gave 3000 for mine 2 years ago was bone stock didnt have a v6 and body was in almost the same shape other than bed was replaced still needed a paint job till I wrecked it lol
Good choice, keep the projects coming! Still hoping you do a bronco one day! Maybe next 👍🏽
Sweet! was getting a bit hesitant when you said that you sold the tacoma, but I love the look of these first gens much better
Great deal! Especially if the diff and 4x4 works, solid find!
You did real good on the ford. 130 thousand miles and clean to. Real good.
Babe wake up. New Mikes4x4Garage video
He's back! Sad to see the beautiful taco go but glad you're on to a new one!
Already got a good basis for a solid axle crawler(xj) already flipped a taco. I thing we wanna see some jumps
Profit project or rally!!
Of course when I sell my first gen you buy one haha. Excited to watch!
I’d say fix up and sell cuz you give the most in depth example of a build and fab work of anyone on TH-cam
Love that you've started another project = more great content for us. Kinda looks like you could make it into a "Marty McFly" SR5 xtra cab!!!
It's an alright deal, but I think $3500 would have been better for it. I'd say flip it to get something better! It also serves as a learning experience for doing body work.
Hell yes! Happy to see another project, Mike! Can’t wait to see what you do with this thing.
Yeah! Can’t wait to get this thing cleaned up
Damn dude, it’s badass how you know so much about fixing cars and have so much knowledge. I don’t even know half the stuff you’re saying but still entertaining to watch 😂
Aww man I found your channel because of the black Tacoma. Sad to see it gone. The 1st gen taco is a alright project.
It was a good truck, but there is a lot of money in it that I could use towards other projects in the end of the day
Congrats on the new Ford and Toyota and for selling the previous Toyota! Really enjoyed the last project. It sounds like you want to keep your Jeep forever, if that's the case, it may be a good idea to turn and burn a profit on this one and free up some cash on future projects. Doing a restoration project for profit sounds like a good series. Good luck and keep up the great work
Keep the Toyotas coming! Should be an awesome project whichever way you decide to mod it!
4K is a lot for that hunk o junk. Would really like to see it cleaned up.
Stoked man, most people are asking way too much for first gens. You got the jeep to crawl, make it a go-fast whoop eater/dune jumper!
Back half it, 4 link it, trash the XJ, straight axle with some 05 plus super duty 60’s and wfo radius arm conversion, transfer case etc
That’s a steal for what it is.
Most people will say it’s trash and not worth it.
But you can get a bed for around $700 and it won’t cost that much to get that suspension running well.
Ditch the wheels/tires.
Put it on 35s with lighter wheels
Fix the body damage as much as you can.
Make a cool bumper for the back and some sliders and you’ll be able to sell that thing for 15k
you’re the man, i came for you your personally that is what stuck with me and your channel is awesome. hope this new year continues to go great and you keep living and expanding your channel for the future
I vote for the pre runner build, a especially being a norcal truck. He was already heading in the direction with the bumper and fab tech kit.
Awesome project! 4K ain’t bad!
As a fellow 1st gen owner I’d love to see a nice long travel build. Total chaos makes a great kit for the 1st gen. Excellent price for that unit and I can’t wait to see how it turns out
Thank you!
Make it slightly modded prerunner would be cool. Great deal on the truck! Congrats.
Man I support the natty ice but I can’t for the life of me support the decision to sell the 2018 taco! From the owner of a 2016 taco, that build you did was so awesome. Looking forward to this one too 🤙🏻
It was a fun truck!
I'll definitely be following this. A new project is great and there is so much potential here!
Thanks for following!
Between prerunner or something to fix up to sell. Either way, we’re here for it 🤠
Heck yeah!!! Excited for this build!!
jumps or flip it for sure! Already have the jeep for crawling
Stoked for your new project! I say make a profit and then buy another one that’s stock two wheel drive to do a pre runner with!
Thank you! Good idea
I say good buy. Love the Ford truck too. Would love to see you turn the Taco into a Prerunner. Looking forward to more vids! 😁👍
Thanks I’ll give that a go!
Solid axle swap crawler
I'd pay 4k for the taco. Nice find and cool project. I really like the tow rig too!
You gave that tacoma a new lease on life. Good stuff
Super excited about everything in this video. Excited to see the F250 and what you do with it. Also I think selling the Tacoma for another project was smart for your TH-cam channel. I'd love to see a prerunner build with this truck
Hell yeah!! New (used) Tacoma! New content! Keep it up Meester Mike!
got an 01 same color 5 speed 3.4 i love that truck cant wait to see more video on it !!! oh and i paid 7K canadian money for mine it was bone stock but ad the frame recall done in 2016 ad a little bit of rust to fix ( road salt ) so yeah you got a good deal on it i guess haha :P
I vote pre runner sand dune rippin. Glad you’re back in a Toyota! Gonna be fun to watch!
4k is a deal! I got an clean title 170k mile 04 taco and paid nearly 11 grand for it, looking back I wish I would have gotten something more like this one, so I’d have more stuff to fix on! Love the videos man let’s see made into a Prerunner 🤟🤟
Hey, thanks for watching!
I vote on a pre-runner, hit some sweet jumps bro!
The taco was fun, but keeping things fresh will be good too
