Go EMMERT INTERNATIONAL!! We are the best at what we do in heavy transport and rigging. Thank you Terry for saving this fire truck and supplying Rick with the equipment to go get it. Rick you asked why, I work for Emmert in Texas. I love this company and am proud to work for a company with such great history in the industry.

This NEVER would've happened without Terry and EMMERT INTERNATIONAL!! Their were a LOT of people who came together to make this Rescue happen. A lot of awesome people who may have only done a small part, but it was an important part that needed doing.... I learned something very important through this experience....."If you are doing something good....good people will help you get it done". Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

Oh man, Rick, I had goose-bumps throughout the entire video ! I locked the house doors, turned off the T.V., and silenced the phones just so I could keep my eyes GLUED to the monitor ! Special Thanks to that man who helped steer the rear up on the flatbed !! It was also special to hear that the townfolk stopped by to pay their respects !

Congratulations Rick. You've waited a long time to get Slinky home. A Hugh shout out to Terry Emmert for the use of the machinery to get it home. Also Dale for the driving and helping. The hardest haul that you have done. Now I would like to see Annabellas reacting when she gets home.
Well done sir! from New Zealand and thanks for us being able to partake in the rescue.

When brakes are looked up like that I've found shooting water in on the pads and the taking a sleage hammer hitting around the outer hub will brake them loose or if you can get a crowbar to the backside of the brakeshoe pry on and unfreeze it

That tiller seat would unlatch to raise the aerial ladder, and the steering linkage detached to allow it to flip out of the way. So it has to be fully latched down to steer, once the ladder is in its bed. Cool rig!

Yeah! Got the 55 Seagrave 100’ fire truck home. It is sad some of the parts got pilfered by trouble makers. I had a question: did you learn your mechanical fixing/restoring skills from your earlier jobs or dad? I’m learning all my mechanic skills from TH-cam tutorials like your vids or ETCG, Chris Fix and CorvetteBen. Thanks for your family friendly educational and entertaining videos. ATB.

There are plenty of those type trucks around without the Ladder section , just the front to make your dream tow truck. Personally i would change out the original engine too . The Orginal Lasalle engines look beautiful with the copper and brass fittings / pipes but the 4 to 6 mpg is a little hard on your wallet.....hehehe Maybe a two speed rear and a output Overdrive might help.....
