"17 seconds" against The Bruins was pretty amazing.
I thought it was over, and went up stairs to grab a beer, within that exact amount of time.
I was crying tears of joy and anger.

I remember watching this live with my dad, and we both just sat there wondering wtf Patrick Kane was doing. There was only one replay angle where you actually see where the puck goes, so we had no clue where the puck actually went. Until they showed the over head angle. It was the most anti-climatic moment in hockey history. Your reaction to a Stanley cup winning goal shouldn't be "Oh that's where the puck went.". Also I love how a few years later after Kane scored another overtime goal in the regular season some dumb reporter asked him if it was his first overtime game winner. His face was hilarious and he couldn't believe the question. But he handled it well and just asked if she could repeat the question, and then answered with he would have to check. So funny

I watched it on TV, I knew it was in after hearing the thunk, and Kane lifting his stick in the air behind the net. He stopped going after it was the big clue. The beer I had ended up all over me and the empty bar I was in, the bartender was also a Hawks fan, he questioned it as he had looked away for a split second then the two of us were celebrating cause why else would I be spraying and splashing beer all over. Before it's asked, it was a junior ranks mess on a Canadian military base and mid week that's why it was empty. I got to celebrate till the cup was presented before the bartender had to close up and kick me out... I will never forget that moment, I still have the beer bottle I was drinking from.

  • @grahamdamberger7130
    @grahamdamberger7130 ปีที่แล้ว

The real dang it would be revealed about 5 months after this was uploaded. During the Western Conference Finals between the Blackhawks and the Sharks just a couple weeks before this game, the Chicago video coach committed evil acts of "lustful desires and domination" against players in the Blackhawks organizational system, and what was management's solution on this situation? To keep it under wraps and act like nothing happened so it doesn't distract the players and ruin team chemistry. I'm sorry, but players within the organization were violated against and were never the same after that season. Everyone knows the story behind it so I won't mention any further events that occurred. However, this would be the biggest scandal in team sports until the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal in 2019 (the organization stole signs in 2017 en route to their World Series championship, but 2019 was when the investigation into it took place).
Also, Briere is now the GM of the Flyers, a team that he served as Captain for years.

I'll be honest, this is probably the one playoff OT goal that I see in lots of compilation videos, but that I skip because it isn't as electrifying, if I can put it like this, like it isn't as magic as lets say Burrows' goal vs the Hawks in 2011 or Martinez's goal in 2014 vs the Rangers. Like you don't see the team just jumping on the player that scored (I mean, they do, but not really..?), all the euphoria, it isn't really there except for Kane, idk, the magic just isn't there (at least from a point of view of someone that isn't a Hawks fan, idk how Hawks fans see this goal). But still gotta respect the fact that this is the goal that won the first of 3 cups in 6 seasons for Chicago

Regarding his dragon boat coach’s advice, that is absolutely true. Don’t look a the ref for a call....don’t peek at a ref to see if he noticed a foul/penalty. You need to and act 100% like the play went your way and own it. Always first make yourself the boss of the play, not the ref.

  • @eddixon2015

The entire room of people I was with didn't see the puck go in but knew the hawks won from Kane's reaction. Barely even paid attention to the review because of Kanes face and telling his teammates "we won" repeatedly. You don't skate to your goaltender like that without knowing you scored a good goal.

Do a video about the 15 final when the lighting player crashed into Bishop and sharp casually picked the puck up and scored. Or go get a nice suite slob.

I was at this game, a lifelong Flyers fan. Watched Kane skate towards me, shoot the puck and it vanished. Wish I could say I knew who took off with it though

Im curious, what happens to the puck after the game? Im sure the hall of fame would want it, right? I think it would be hilarious if you were the goalie in this situation, and you just decide to be an agent of complete chaos and toss the puck into the stands.

The puck didn't just get lost in the net, it fell into a black hole from which it's never returned. www.espn.com/espn/eticket/story?page=110421/missingpuck&redirected=true

Two things. Afterwards Patrick Kane admitted he had nightmares that the goal didn’t go in after all and he was celebrating like a lunatic for nothing. Good thing it went in. Second Patrick Sharp claimed that he knew the goal went in and the first thing he said to Kane was that he was open in the slot. If that’s true, that’s epic. So not a dang it.

as the shooter you can generally see where the puck went. I scored a goal once in University hockey that went through the netting. I knew I scored but because the puck was in play right after no one else believed it. No replay video in that league...

As a Hawks fan I was too busy taking my Blackhawks flag for a jog outside.... In Pennsylvania.

The puck that this goal was scored with disappeared years ago, nobody knows where it is. Chris Pronger might, though.

I mean you say the goal is supposed to be iconic and honestly it is. Probably the most memorable playoff goal of the 2010s
