Dogs are ridiculously fast. I can barely keep up with our little pup when she's going easy. When she sees a squirrel she goes at least twice my maximum sprinting speed. Until she comes to the end of the extending leash, that is.
yeah just last week I was about to do a rather difficult drop with a very short runup, and my front suspension locked up right when I was about to go over the drop. I landed in the middle of my front tire, the tire bent, and I was scratched up and winded. But other than a broken tire and some scratches I was pretty fine
when you're living this sort of lifestyle, putting in this much ride time on such sketchy terrain, it's inevitable to happen. Good thing your relatively ok. Heal up and get back out there!
I immediately clicked this and remember when I was doing a skinny and sketchy tabletop, slid out, and got a hairline fracture on my wrist (6 weeks); the most frustrating thing (warning to Eric) is that even when you get your cast off, it takes several months to get back to the confidence you used to have in your hand; RIP Eric’s hand, very unfortunate
Best wishes for a quick and full recovery! Writing this with my arm in a sling from a hairline break in right scapula. My tuck-and-roll technique wasn't enough on my last crash.
i feel your pain! had a unfortunate leg injury this June after a motorcycle crash which left me off the track and trails for 12 weeks, that's just part of these sports and i'm glad your okay and it wasn't worse than it is, wish you a good heal and hopefully you can hope back on the bike as soon as possible.
That sucks man, I hope the recovery is going ok and can't wait to see you back on the trails. I'm new to riding and pushing the limits is tough but is so rewarding. But that fear of crashing is always there and a very hard thing overcome. Best of luck on the healing
Yep. Going slow isn't always your friend. I have done the exact same thing! A tad bit more speed to carry momentum, you would have had that! Heal up and send it again man. Here's to a speedy recovery! 🤟
THIS. I scrolled and scrolled hoping at least one person would mention it. This guy consistently tries to tackle tech features while anxiously creeping and skidding quite often. That’s passenger status. There’s definitely a time and place for snail’s pace, but most times a bit or more momentum is your friend. It’s just understanding how much speed (USING it more often) and how to manage it. (braking control).
Getting injured really sucks Eric. Sorry it happened. In 2013, I just bought a new bike and had a tip over crash going up a technical climb and broke my right wrist also. A small break at the end of my radius. So here I was with a new bike that was just sitting for 4 weeks. UGH! You seem to stay busy though, so the time will go by quickly. Speedy recovery! Bob T
Sorry about your fracture and FOOSH (Fall On Outstretched Hands) injuries are so common. I have always admired your smart and caution approach to features. I was commenting to MTB Alan about wearing protective wrist supports as he had a similar injury. It certainly makes me think about protecting my wrist. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
Your method for building up your courage for the road gap is genius! The back and forth makes total sense to me! I've done it before. As someone who big time failed on a 3 foot awkward drop, I would just pass if I were unsure. I've had all the injuries I can afford
I always appreciate your carefulness, and you did all your due diligence approaching this feature. You're not reckless, but unfortunately, you're also not wreckless. Heal well. I'll keep tuning in, don't worry.
I broke my wrist (scaphoid) , had the same cast and it just came off yesterday. Godd to have someone to relate to, it sucks but you'll be good as new in 12 weeks!
Done that a couple of times in my younger jumpy days, hurts like hell getting back on your bike. Was a nasty OTB, somehow the slow one's can feel worse. Gutted man, hope you recover quickly 👍
I hope you have a strong recovery. Thanks for sharing this one. It gives a great heads up on how fast an injury can happen. Really glad it didn't require surgery.
Ahh, man. That sucks. Feel better dude. Sending y healing vibes. I shattered my clavicle at the start of the season with an OTB like that. Love the channel and Yuka's too.
Nasty spill, Eric! And yea, I wear a gimbal as well and it does make me a little nervous. I think about it every time I'm about to head down a steep drop. Anyway, I'm glad you didn't need surgery, rest up!
I was in a cast for almost a year with broken scaphoids, neither from riding...one from playing with my kids and the other from fly fishing...lol. I decided to take it easy and go fly fishing after getting my cast off...slipped on the dusty trail and cought myself with my freshly healed arm...breaking it again. It's not a painful break...but it takes forever to heal. I feel your pain man....take your time healing and treat it well!
I had the same injury and picture of a long screw in my scaphoid right arm. At my age it didn't heal and I had three surgeries to do bone graphs...I was out 9 months (or supposed to be, I rode anyway). Get well and heal quickly...love your videos
Get well soon... I agree with you that it could have been worse and I'm just glad it wasn't. That trail was super sketch and seeing you just slide down it I knew it had to be like 40% grade, which is no joke. The rock seemed to be like a smooth river rock, which made me think why you were not getting any traction in braking.
Sorry to hear. Just getting over a broken right ulna. I had a MTB trip planned in Arizona 3 weeks after the break, so I cut the cast off at home & rode mostly blues. Not the best idea, but I dealt with the pain ok. Still rehabbing the ulna. That MTB trip set me back but it was worth it to me.
Man, Eric! So sorry about your wrist! We're in the same boat, though. I just had a pacemaker implanted and I'll also be off the bikes for a number of weeks. Sounds like you might be back on before me. I hope you heal quickly!
Mate I'm feeling your Gimbal chest injury! Landed square on my chest the other weekend and the sudden compression of the chest mount bolt does leave a mark! Although I had a bit more flabby stuff to absorb it haha. Speedy recovery my dude.
I broke my wrist 7 months ago through the growth plate of my radius after sending a homemade kicker, got my cast off last week and am working on regaining move movement, you've got this!
My nadir is hairpin turns into uphill tech, was riding Gold Bar Rim trail in Moab last week and pulled up trying to climb a rock feature, fell sideways and punctured my cheek on a long spiny grass plant! A lot of blood but no broken bones! Good luck on recovery!
Oh man! That's like the subtle fracture of my left thumb at Blankets in Atlanta. It sucks! I really hope it heals well and you get back to the trails sooner than later! Being a difficult SOB, I kept riding the rest of the trip, not the smartest thing to do. Took me 6 weeks after to recover. Luckily it was going into winter so I didn't lose much. Stress less, ride more! Stay safe.
I'm right handed as well and when I broke my right collar bone, yes, it was indeed a great difficulty. The one thing that is never mentioned is how much more difficult wiping is. You've spent your entire life training your right hand and suddenly, you need to use your left? Theoretically, it's easy but there is no muscle memory. That was the biggest challenge for me.
Hope you have a quick recovery and afe back riding as soon as you can. I recently had a big one and I'm unable to ride till atleast mid November with a bad shoulder injury :(
I broke my wrist back on June and I'm recently getting back to riding again. I know it sucks not being able to ride, but you'll get back before you know it. Hope you get better soon!
Uh that's a bummer! Hope you heal fast. I (Dom) went over the bars and landed on my forearm about the same time frame as you. Luckly nothing was broken but I did shear the fat layer between the bone and the muscle. Super painful and swelling was huge. Still recovering from it 7th week now. Stay safe!
I feel your pain! When i first started riding I had Gopro karma grip gimbal and the grip impaled my chest as I crashed. Left a nasty looking bruise and it hurt for some time. That was the last time I used it like that. Heal quick!
Feeling with you Bro. Broke my Shoulder while biking 3 months ago.. Still not back on the bike.. and I will take my time and not rush it.. strength needs to be fully back first. But also good stuff came out of it.. I bought a smart trainer and this will get my fitness trough every winter from now on.. that would otherwise never have happened ;) stay positive dude!!
Feel your pain. I have had avulsion fractures in both wrists. Check out the Mobius X8 wrist brace. A little pricey BUT it got me back on the bike way faster on my second fracture. Has an insane natural feel when your wrist is in extension. The brace is so comfortable it can be worn even after fully healing to help prevent future injuries while going OTB.
I feel you. I did something similar last year but I was doing an enduro on my dirt bike. It was a little bit if a harder crash than what you did. I split my scayfoid but didn't need surgery. It really sucked and I was in a cast for 16 weeks. That bone is really hard to heal and I hope it heals quickly and feels better soon!
Get well soon! As for the gimble, I also was using the chest mounted gimble until I crashed and broke some ribs because of it. Since I have just switched to under the helmet, even though I prefer the chest view. Great video and it’s always a pleasure watching you progress as a rider. Heal up well!
I literally broke the exact same bone in the exact same spot on Saturday. As a triple whammy, I also sprained the left wrist AND am paying for American Healthcare thru it all. I feel your pain, Eric
I currently have the same fracture except my elbow is immobilized too. This sucks soo much, but seeing you all youtubers had the same issue somewhere in the past makes me confident that soon I'll be riding again.
There is something to be said about the go pro being smashed into a pancake and still filming like nothing happened. That crash video didn’t skip a beat! Good job showing your crash like 1,000 times... really brings humility to it all.
Broke my wrist early this year in Kamloops. Same blue cast. Also my right wrist, but it was a burst fracture on my radius bone. Eight weeks, and then a couple extra of light work. Thankfully, I'm ambidextrous and was already working with my mouse left-handed. Happy healing!
Just broke 2 ribs and cartilage in my sternum fractured left elbow and arm at XXX Ca. Out for 8 weeks right before the best dirt days. Argh So all I have been doing is watching videos of other ride. Then came across you and your lady. The traveling MTB DUO! Great videos!!!!
I hope you will recover fast (I broke my collarbone recently and I know the filling of staying away from mountain biking, and it sucks,) also don't worry about videos health comes always first
Sorry to hear about your injury Eric, i am also injured with a hyper extended calf muscle, 4 to 6 wks. I guess you'll be looking into bidet's , (-; get well soon.
healing vibes BCPOV. I suppose one way to look at it is "break" (sorry, couldn't resist) from the bike can be a good thing. Over to you Uka. Peace and love from France
I love how that dog is basically keeping pace with a bunch of ppl on bikes
Dogs are ridiculously fast. I can barely keep up with our little pup when she's going easy. When she sees a squirrel she goes at least twice my maximum sprinting speed. Until she comes to the end of the extending leash, that is.
I know, right? I didn't wanna say anything because someone was injured, but I was giggling every time the puppers brought them back a stick!
Feel better. Similar thing happened this past Friday. I was going down a hill, focusing on a skinny, fell in a ditch, and cut my lip. Fun
Matt Dam
Matt cool
Yea I just got cleared to ride again after breaking my radius at trestle
yeah just last week I was about to do a rather difficult drop with a very short runup, and my front suspension locked up right when I was about to go over the drop. I landed in the middle of my front tire, the tire bent, and I was scratched up and winded. But other than a broken tire and some scratches I was pretty fine
EnderAlphaEntertainment sounds expensive
Ah bummer. Heal up!
Rémy Métailler Hi love you videos
Ur a real sub i see u on like every video
Him and Eric are like best mates and remy is also such a good rider
Remy have you ridden this trail?
Usually it’s the best day when bcpov drops a video... but then... the title
Noooooooooooooo!!!!
Yeah:(
Ya
man that really stinks, hope you feel better soon
Yeah me too it’s rather unfortunate
HEY I BROKE THE SAME WRIST AND HAD THE SAME CAST! Today’s gonna be a good day
15k subs before 2021 ayyy I did too!
same hahaha
Me too, the same bone cast and everything. I still have it on but only need it for 2 more weeks.
Nathan Olson it took me 3 months to get back to riding.
me too
The GoPro effect comes in here too! Love the rock slabs! Get better soon!!

“I feel like if I just do it I’ll be fine” not really the case
Famous last words
DS.M30W ZR yes haha
*Morgan Freeman Voice* "As it turned out, it was not fine"
i feel your pain! had a unfortunate leg injury this June after a motorcycle crash which left me off the track and trails for 12 weeks, that's just part of these sports and i'm glad your okay and it wasn't worse than it is, wish you a good heal and hopefully you can hope back on the bike as soon as possible.

I feel you man! I recently tore my bicep tendon and cant ride for another 6 weeks at least... Here's to a speedy recovery for both of us. Cheers!

Sorry for you’re loss Erick hope you get better soon
That’s such a bummer. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Do I hear of some trail builds coming soon?
Aw man.How are we gonna live vicariously now. Get well soon man 😁👍 Looking forward to more vids.
Ahh, man. That sucks. Feel better dude. Sending y healing vibes. I shattered my clavicle at the start of the season with an OTB like that. Love the channel and Yuka's too.
Ouch, I totally understand having sustained a similar injury this summer. Recover well!

Ouch!! At least you are able to walk away from this crash. It could have been much worse. Get well soon, Eric. Love your videos!!

Dang Eric, sorry to see that! I hope it's better soon, and you don't let the lack of riding get you down too much. Take care of yourself!
Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope you heal up soon. Love your content!

Hope you have a speedy recovery! Just sprained my wrist a couple days back it sucks to not be able to ride.
"today on BCpov i crash and payed the price"
Hope he brings this back... pretty please!
Hey man, get better soon don't worry about uploading or anything we understand, love you!

Sending healing vibes your way from Australia , Eric!
Hope you have a quick recovery and afe back riding as soon as you can. I recently had a big one and I'm unable to ride till atleast mid November with a bad shoulder injury :(
Hope you have a good and fast recovery. I broke the left one years ago too, screw and ugly scar to match.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
So sorry you broke your wrist man. Healing vibes from New York
7:27 I vaguely remember Jordan Boostmaster riding into a tree at a pretty high speed and it seemed really painful.
I broke my wrist back on June and I'm recently getting back to riding again. I know it sucks not being able to ride, but you'll get back before you know it. Hope you get better soon!
Wow! That was a gnarly crash. Glad you're on the mend. Thanks for sharing.
Wish you a quick recovery! Make more video while you can now , nice content !
Dude I hope you feel better soon heal quick and keep on shredding
Uh that's a bummer! Hope you heal fast. I (Dom) went over the bars and landed on my forearm about the same time frame as you. Love the content! Sorry to hear about the injury. Wish you a speedy recovery. Thank You for all the great videos!
Wishing you a speedy recovery! Love your videos!
Sorry that happened, but yeah, it could have been worse. Glad you're mostly ok. Here's to a speedy recovery!!
I feel your pain! When i first started riding I had Gopro karma grip gimbal and the grip impaled my chest as I crashed. Left a nasty looking bruise and it hurt for some time. That was the last time I used it like that. Heal quick!
Bummer! Glad nothing more serious happened! If there's not a lot of "stranger" comments down below this I'll be severely disappointed.
I was really anxious watching this. 😱 Sorry you got injured! Hope it heals quickly. 🙏🏻

Unfortunately the US Health System probably hurts the most.
I'm so sorry! This sucks I hope you get better fast!
I wish you the best recovery ! Good job with your vids !

oh no, I hope you feel better and I can't wait to see you riding again
Sorry to hear!! Love your videos and hope you heal like a champ!!!
Heal up man. Nobody films Yuka's crashes well like you do. Keep safe you both
Broke my wrist early this year in Kamloops. Same blue cast. Also my right wrist, but it was a burst fracture on my radius bone. Eight weeks, and then a couple extra of light work.
Thankfully, I'm ambidextrous and was already working with my mouse left-handed.

Sorry to hear about your injury Eric, i am also injured with a hyper extended calf muscle, 4 to 6 wks. I guess you'll be looking into bidet's , (-; get well soon.
Ah man that’s a huge bummer!!! Good luck whilst having the cast on!!!
Dang! Sorry to hear man! Get well soon!
I feel so depresed after watching this for some reason
Hope you get better soon. We'll be waiting for you guys.
healing vibes BCPOV. I suppose one way to look at it is "break" (sorry, couldn't resist) from the bike can be a good thing. Over to you Uka. Peace and love from France
Speedy recovery man🙏🏽
Feel better soon. Always looking forward to new content.
WOW! Really sorry to hear this. Heal well. And it will only make you stronger.
Best wishes for recovery and sending love from Nepal 😍😍
oh eric! that really sucks. on the bright side, i love the way you told this story. the outcome first ... and the cause last.
Get well soon buddy, keep the content coming. Awesome stuff
