- I flew to Pik-N-Pig with my friend Jeff and his family, Kim and Ryder, on April 29. 2023. We departed late from Person County Airport and did not sit down for lunch until 3:30pm. Pik-N-Pig closes at 4pm, and they were out of pulled pork and brisket due to an unusually busy day. BBQ is prepared beginning a day in advance, so they need a day to recover from a sellout. By 3:30pm, we were one of only three airplanes at the restaurant. I let Kim and Jeff fly my Cessna Cutlass at altitude (2000ft), and clearly showed that I am NOT a CFI. FYI, the altitude countdown on the return landing was spliced from an Airbus 340 system for comic relief. This was my first trip to Pik-N-Pig since they rebuilt from a fire that destroyed the original restaurant. Pik-N-Pig gets my vote for the best airport restaurant!
Do the wings always stay attached?
