It's a lot of work 😊 I just got done swapping a motor, trans, rear end and all the brakes and a lot of other things from a 1978 motor home to a 1976 motor home. It can be done 😊 good luck
There is plenty you can do while you search for your donor chassis. Start gutting the interior so you can repair the structural items. You can rebuild it however you want. While doing this, think about wether you need a sink, if you will cook inside, or use a canopy. The space could be used differently. When you pull the cabinets and under bed storage you will find more mouse housing. A replacement fridge can be sourced from market place.
That was a great video. I really enjoyed it and it was strangely satisfying to watch the clean up. Looking forward to seeing more and I've subscribed. Hi from the UK.
That would be cool looking when restored. Keep that old style on the outside, gut that rear cabin like a pig and add some cool modern items. Probably never see another one around anywhere! It'd be awesome! Good Luck!
Just found you channel and am def interested in your project. As long as you have the vin tag you can do the "Vermont" trick look up how to get a title through Vermont on youtube ,there are videos how to do this . looking forward to your next video on this cool lil camper!
Neighbors had Toyota version, every once in a while one would see a Chevy-GMC Blazer version, but never seen a Datsun, interesting. The Toyota Chinooks were all over the place in California in 70s-80 s most were still in hands of people that could afford to purchase them New and in good condition. Then the 90s rolled in and decrepit chinooks seem to be the norm.
Oi, como você aguenta ficar neste veículo, passo mal só de ver, é um grande desafio restaurar esses veículo nessa situação. Parabéns pelo canal! Obrigada por compartilhar conosco 🇧🇷🇧🇷
The American Flag you have hanging in the garage is hung improperly…. Please fix it . The Field should always be to the Right of the stripes when looking at it 👍 Can’t wait to see more of your progress
You’re a good man … thank you You’ve got a great project! I’m just starting your tear down video…. Keep it up 👍 The mask you’re wearing is a little hard for you to understand but, I’m glad to see you taking this seriously dust, feces, mold, can really put a ginch in your get along if it gets into your lungs.
Yeah needs to be gutted, new seals, new cabinets, fooring, etc. You might be able to salvage the appliances. Your project is just that. It's only time and money. When you say you want to make it a job, do you mean restorations or youtube or restorations on youtube ? I don't know what a restored chinook would sell for but as a personal project, I feel it would be very cool albit that is gonna be some work. Stay focused sir, I feel chinook restore video series will be good...
I have a 2001 Nissan crew cab 4x4 with the 3.3 liter automatic. I am contemplating removing everything from the front doors back, and installing a Boler trailer shell for a motorhome. It would be taller, but I think it is feasible. The only big issue, people are asking $10,000 for a gutted shell Boler? The truck only cost $500 with a dismantled engine needing new gaskets? No idea. I have another engine though.
Im not surprised that only letting the engine sit for 24 hours in trans fluid didn't unstick it. The most success comes from a mixture or diesel fuel and marvel mystery oil. Just make sure no one from the EPA is around when it starts cranking and that devils brew comes flying out. As for the title issue every state is different so its hard too say, but based on the trucks age the title recovery process at your local townhall might no be too bad or take too long. Just bring them your bill of sale and see what needs to happen next.
It’s hell here in NC, takes over 3 years to get a legal title in your name because you have to bond it for 3 years minimum. I found a donor truck in going to use with a clean title, matching frame. So all should be good for NC laws
One last thing good 🤞 luck. I would do it one piece at A time to. Black and Decker has some all in one rechargeable battery powered equipment tools that Will you out majorly on that build to. Like the grinder oscillating blade for cutting out wood and tile and granite and carpet with. There's other attachments that comes with the tool set to. I would invest in A Dremel tool set and electrical testers and boxes of connectors and fittings for your wiring issues to. Cause it might just be chewed up wires.,or broken ones somewhere in that camper. That's the reason it doesn't power up to. I'd get A harbor freight Honda generator with quite muffler on it. And A separate inverter.,or converter from parts stores.,or online.,or at Walmart.
ya it might be best to part it out you can drive it are sale it with a bonded tittle just like a regular one the bond would likely cost under 100$@@Rusty.Datsun
Nah, this one is definitely getting restored. I plan on camping in it. Would love to go camping with my parents or use it to attend car events around the country
GET A TITLE FROM VT. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A BILL OF SALE THEN GET A REGISTRATION AND NEW TITLE FROM YOUR STATE WITH THE VT. TITLE / THERE IS A YOU TUBE CHANEL ALL ABOUT IT / GOOD LUCK WITH IT
You're a brave soul. 😮
I can't wait to see your progress. I'll be watching to see how you solve your challenges and find your opportunities!
Thank you!

Awesome find. Would be a great rebuild project. Keep giong.
Found a long bed, it's just going to take some time to get the new truck right
My dad had a 79 Toyota chinook. And loved it. I put many clutch’s in that truck. Including a floorboard in that thing he loved. 😊
I’m hoping I’ll be able to use this one to its full potential
Great video and I just love your Chinook. Lots of work ahead to restore it, but it's going to be beautiful once it's finished. Best wishes to you!
Thank you!
Very cool, it would be fun to watch the rebuild.

That would be cool looking when restored. Keep that old style on the outside, gut that rear cabin like a pig and add some cool modern items. Probably never see another one around anywhere! It'd be awesome! Good Luck!

Awesome
Could be a great bug out vehicle!
And where do you think you will find a gas station when you need to bug out😂
If it sat for awhile then the clutch disc is probably stuck to the flywheel.
You're brave!
It is pretty neat to bad it's in such terrible shape.
Pretty cool man you should be sucking up that Mouse house It's gonna be a cool project but got a lot of work
you got the better deal
I was going to ask does it smell as bad as it looks.😊
And I would pick some micro ban 24 to it's just like your 409., Lysol Dollar general store.,or others carry mold and mildew spray to.
Check popcorn ceiling for asbestos

Will do, never even noticed it was hung wrong

Trying to go for TH-cam as a job, just posting my hobby for the world to see. I want to use the camper pretty frequently when it gets done

Do it in a Datsun
Cool as shit …. The $$$. Vs the ❤❤❤❤❤..
Any choice you make. You will learn something %%%%,,
That thing is a biohazard. Nice knowin’ ya
camping stream soon?
Soon? 💀
you might look into getting a bonded tittle I was able to get one for my trailer that had no tittle
I was thinking about but the cab is so rusty and it takes 3 years for me to get the title here
ya it might be best to part it out you can drive it are sale it with a bonded tittle just like a regular one the bond would likely cost under 100$@@Rusty.Datsun
Just swap the cub, motor, trans, from your other dot😊
I would but the chinook’s are made From single cab trucks, so the king cab wouldn’t line up at all
Remove the camper shell and make a flatbed Datsun.
Nah, this one is definitely getting restored. I plan on camping in it. Would love to go camping with my parents or use it to attend car events around the country
Most all campers mount horizontal
Good luck finding a donor.
Think I found one
Just strip it for parts, somebody restoring one will give you top dollar for the parts
put that motor in it
Just sold that sr for $4000, using some of that money to buy a donor truck this weekend then I’m using some to redo the inside of the camper
Bleach Attack on deck !!!
Man find old owner . Or pay couple hundred to a title place near you
Old owner died in 03, it’s honestly easier to do all the work then get a title from NC
Друг, тебя вообще не слышно.........
The audio for this video is horrible
GET A TITLE FROM VT. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A BILL OF SALE THEN GET A REGISTRATION AND NEW TITLE FROM YOUR STATE WITH THE VT. TITLE / THERE IS A YOU TUBE CHANEL ALL ABOUT IT / GOOD LUCK WITH IT
The Vermont loophole doesn’t work anymore
