Dude, thanks million! You're a hero! Worked perfectly for my work laptop. Had struggling with it for a while and IT support wouldn't repair it, since it was older than several years, thus 0 in value. And thanks to you I managed to fix it and save me a lot of trouble. Thanks again!

Thank you for the tutorial. I had a E6420 with the same issue and didn't realise it could be something as simple as this.

I replaced my dented/scratched up display top lid on my Latitude E6520 and the laptop would turn on but, not turn on the display. So I re-installed the old display lid and the display would still not power on, even though the laptop would turn on so, perhaps I just need to make sure the connection is good as you have done here.

in this case, you have screen issue. In my case, my built in screen doesn't show display, I tried to connect an external monitor and it doesn't show display neither... It means, it is not screen issue... mobo issues, maybe? what do you recommend?

My screen was turned red, it use to flicker , but now it's always red. I have tried the solution but no change.
Is it the screen or the GPU? external monitor on HDMI works fine

Miguel Garcia it was the cable snapped somewhere. just pushed it down a few cm from the vga plug and it fixed it. I placed some rubber to keep it pushed and it works fine so far.
