Tutorial on how to replace the lcd screen on the Dell e6520
Note: I upgraded my screen from WSXGA (1600 by 900) to FHD (1920 by 1080). This was the e6520 configured with the intel/nvidia dual graphics and it came with a 40-pin connector. LCD screen was purchased from laptopscreen.com.

Hi, I tried to make the change for the LED Screen of my Latitude e6530 from the existing 1366x768, to a new screen with a 1920x1080 resolution, but I get blurry text and the images does not look ok, they look granier and fuzzy like if its not the correct resolution (even though the Windows panel says that I chose the recommended resolution (1920x1080)), should I have to change also the LCD Ribbon Cable in order to make it work properly?. Thanks

Marco Aviles Did you happen to find out the answer to your problem? I am currently having the same problem and wanted to see if you found a solution

Hi, fantastic video, thank you. I just purchased a 1920x1080 screen for my dell latitude e6530 to upgrade from my 1366x768 screen and I get a white grainy layer appearing over my screen, and everything you expect to be there under it. Did you have to do anything special to get yours to work? I suspect I was sent a defective unit, but am checking around frantically to get other opinions. Thanks.

I did actually! It has to do with the LVDS connector between the motherboard and the display. 1366x768 is supportable with a single channel or dual channel LVDS cable, but any resolution above that requires a dual channel cable. I replaced my LVDS cable with a dual channel and it worked perfectly

The company I work for buys Dell laptops for all it's sales reps. The E6520 and E6530 models. I can tell you they are complete crap. I work in the IT department and we see tons of issues with these systems. The keyboards and LCD screens especially. Oh, and lots of issues with the palm rests too. Go with any other brand if you can.
