    Gorgeous playing as usual.
I'm listening through MacBook Pro speakers and already it's gorgeous!
That mix of CFX2/78Rd is amazing.
will upgrade my firmware today and get after it!
    More later...

Doesn't sound like noodling, sounds like some fine piano playing. Thanks for sharing.

THANK YOU FOR POINTING THIS OUT!!!!! Egads I gotta go download it and try it out.
Haven't even put on my in-ears and listened to you yet...but I suspect they FINALLY fixed the following issues that Kevin's ears heard:
    1. CFX was always weirdly "off" in the stereo spectrum of my head. Also, the CK-88 (different keyboard) has an AWESOME CFX. Sooooo...here's hoping that the new CP88 2.0 CFX is as good or maybe better than the CK-88's CFX.
    AND
    2. Bosendorder (Imperial) always had super quiet final uppermost octave (possibly more than just the last octave...but somewhere up there). In other words, if you wanted to make some type of musical STATEMENT with the Bosendorfer and you wanted to SLAM the highest keys on the keyboard you REAAAAAAAALLLY have to slam them on the CP88. Let's hope they fixed that.
I'll reply back after I listen to yer stuff and try it out myself.
Sorry for hijacking yer thread man...but you and me have a HUGE investment and interest in this here CP88 beast!!

DUUUUDE! You read what they changed:
Some of those changes are really cool.
For example, adjusting the damper resonance for what you like (it was "one size fits all" before).
Being able to adjust output gain is cool cuz I play in churches with the CK-88 and I notice I can pump more dB into the church soundboard and get super clean sound.
look how coy they are with: "New Voices have been added". Egads...SPELL IT OUT YAMAHA (drool).
      Okay...bye fer now.
      V1.60 to V2.00
      New features
A Tempo Delay type has been added to the DELAY effects.
A "Damper Resonance" parameter has been added to the SETTINGS.
An "Output Gain" parameter has been added to the MENU.
A "Section SW Mode" parameter has been added to the MENU.
The USB [TO DEVICE] terminal now accepts MIDI devices.
The Live Set Pages have been expanded.
The time length for the Auto Power Off function has been changed.
      New Voices have been added.
New Live Set Sounds have been added.
The Data List has been updated.

Couldn't agree more on both your points. The highest register of the previous Bosendorfer always irked me. It's like they ran out of memory or something. So glad it's now fixed! And the new CFX sounds more balanced and rich.

just listening to YOUR playing here...YES they fixed the weird stereo image of the Original CFX! YAY!
Imperial also appears better. More focused somehow. Not as muddy? AH! I see what they did...they messed with the stereo image of the Imperial much like they did with the CFX Original vs. CFX2.
It appears Yamaha has made both the CFX and Imperial more focused and less muddy and a better stereo image.
    Way cool.

When you get an update, do the new sounds replace the old ones or are the an addition to the factory sounds?

In my humble opinion, a combination of cp 88 and yc 61 sounds much better than the new roland v stage
