He didn't like playing it, probably didn't practice for himself but Ken, so he mostly didn't try, and when played he didn't even try hard and still got far. And yet, he showed that when wanted to play seriously he was nuts. Just imagining Isai liking the game, putting time into perfecting a character he liked, developing those techniques that people theorized he knew and used them way before they were given names by other people, and practicing day and night with Ken... imagine how HUGE these two would've been if Isai had the passion to play Melee as he had for SM64. I get goosebumps thinking of an alternate universe where Isai became Melee's GOAT, he'd still be playing it, I'm sure, though I'm not sure he'd be the best now, but very close to top10 no doubt.
I think about this all the time. I check in on PPMD’s channel whenever they post. I sincerely believe in their recovery. I have so much hope for a future where we get to see them shine again, care free and healthy-for our sake and for theirs. From what I’ve gathered PP is a sweetheart, a kind person, and an amazing player ♥️
Rensi I’m an abolitionist and that applies to gender. PPMD has a trans pride flag in the background of the stream and I know PP has had medical struggles with testosterone levels and other issues. I try to use the neutral pronoun they to describe PP bc I don’t know what their preferred pronouns are-I only
know they’ve made a point of showing solidarity with the trans community so I thought I would respect the fact that I don’t know PP’s preferred pronouns. Also because moving away from gendered pronouns is a good practice to have in general.

his results and longevity are lackluster compared to wobbles and chudat. Its like Sfat's fox, or Hax's falcon, huge peak and fan favorite but clearly lackluster result and longevity compared to the others.

I remember Mang0 saying once that Plup doesn't play samus the right way, he's too aggressive. I think that's why Duck has arguably better tournament results and wins than Plup even though we all know Plup is the better melee player. idk how Hugs picked himself anyway though lol

axe's YL was basiically floating on the sides of yoshi story for 10-15 seconds straight. what a mad man haha
I have to agree... Axe is main reason YL has moved up in the tier list when for his entire existence he was considered a firm low tier.
Even when Armada played him, it was just against Puff, and that's one match-up. Axe has beaten some pretty good high and top tier mains with his YL.
This is the best tier list I have seen by a top player so far and it was done in less than two minutes
The fact that Ken and Isai are on this list with COMPLETELY disregarding PC Chris is BM.

Its definitely worth noting the following players evolved and expanded the meta of the following characters. Without these starting to players to explore them, their meta never would have been where it is today.

Hugo predicted 1 or 2 years, but 4 months after this video and I think we can already make the case for Zain being the Marth GOAT. Sure, it's netplay, but with Slippi, netplay results are almost 100% legit, and no Marth has EVER looked as dominant as he is right now. 2020 would be the Zain era had it not been for the virus.

The most impressive Kriby I've ever seen is the Swedish player Hack who used him as a counter pick against Ice at BEAST (Loser bracket quarter finals). He almost made the character look viable. The video is on youtube if you're curious, but it's nothing like being in the audience when the match went down.

Fly Amanita wasn't even considered for ICs GOAT??? I feel like he had a MASSIVE case with his consistent top 30-20 appearances when he played, his wins against top players, and his relative lack of wobbling . I agree Chu Dat is ultimately the GOAT, but man I would've at least TALKED about Amanita.

I hear you about the Scop argument, but I think it’s a different list. Best character mains/strong secondaries vs. best at each character.
The only reason why Armada, Mango, and other elite players aren’t the best at bs characters is because they don’t play them at tournament. The times they actually pull out those characters are in joke/super niche situations but we still put them there. Armada Kirby, M2K Pichu, Axe YLink, Zain Roy, etc.
All jokes aside, I think the goat of pichu has undoubtedly got to be Mew2King. Codeman and Axe are also both quite skilled with the character, but don't have the results or general character/game knowledge Mew2King had. Chaos is the kid who hacked his wii and went on insane runs at locals with a heavily buffed pichu. Obviously Chaos is not in the conversation.
