I just ordered this and L’Eau. Been getting right into Diptyque lately and their simple earthy, natural goodness. Great review as always Pep with eloquent and well rounded descriptions and thoughts. Sounds like a winner can’t wait to try it. Cheers
Bought this while visiting London in 2018. An amazing fragrance that reminds me of a good time, sauntering through Hyde park after a few potent pints of British ale. Careless days. Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Yes! As You say: "It just does seem to embody that Diptyque refinement..lovely and good quality and NOT BEEING SHOUTY "That's why I LOVE DIPTYQUE -WORLD❤️ Thank You! Beautiful description!
I adore patchouli, but Tempo and my skin did not agree. Tempo turned into the odor of the little Yardley soaps my Grandma used to keep in a basket on the back of her toilet. On me, it was dreadful, and I had such high hopes for it. The other issue is I am allergic to something in this fragrance. My sinuses went crazy. Not knocking Diptique at all, I just thought others should be aware there can be issues with this concoction.
late to the party, but i love this fragrance. i was given a generous sample of this from the local diptyque shop for my birthday. i feel like a classy and chic hippie when i wear this 😊
If you have tried the original LIDGE from Guerlain, do you find wearing Tempo similar to it? Sebastian from Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews has mentioned this similarity, Tempo being for him a great alternative to the now discontinued Lidge, better and closer than the current and reformulated versions of L'Instant de Guerlain.
Patchouli field sounds kinda great! You're absolutely right about whether anyone needs all the nice patchouli fragrances that there is, there's so many. I've got patchouly from Profumum Roma, real patchouly by bois 1920, patchouli imperiale from Dior and coromandel edp. I'm not sure theres any need or want for more patchouli leviathans in my collection
@@kingme5977 I usually prefer feminine fragrances leaning unisex, I find Tempo to be unisex leaning slightly masculine but I’m willing to make an exception for this particular scent. It’s an intoxicating, deep patchouli, I’m sure you would enjoy it if you like earthy scents.
@@ritz_essence1547 omg thanks so much! ... the only unisex fragrance that lean slightly masculine that I made an exception for and enjoy is Montale’s Vetiver Patchouli
@@ritz_essence1547 same! while this unisex scent leans a bit masculine, i love this one for myself, as a woman. the patchouli centered in tempo is just so beautiful and addictive. i feel like a freshly showered classy and chic hippie 😊
Aside from oud palou, I'm not familiar with anything from them but I love patch 😍 so now I'll have to delve into the brand. Appreciate your insight into this one
Thanks Pep, lovely review. I definitely get that damp sweetish tea note and I wonder if it's a combination of the mate and violet leaf. I also get a chocolate note (so did my 7-year-old at the time). I've mused over a bottle in the past but guess I don't love it enough. I wore my sample in summer though and found it quite addictive while it lasted.
I just finally got this in the mail and it’s so weird on me. Upfront I get a kind of green tea and dirty hair smell from the Maté and Pepper, but it does smell masculine and spicy and interesting. Within 5 minutes it goes extremely powdery on me- less violet and more baby powder. I couldn’t place it for hours but it smells a lot like like what my skin smells like after I’ve washed off any of the Chanel No. 5 spin-offs (especially Eau Premier). I wish I got what most of the men reviewing it seem to get out of it, because I smell like a freshly-showered old lady in it. 😂
Very linear scent to me. Pretty much. a peppery patchouli with a bit of a floral touch. I get the old lady reference though, there’s definitely something going on that smells dated.
I had a 14 ml of Tempo from Diptyque, and I gave it Chan Marshal of Cat Power . Not because I didn't like it, I very much enjoyed, as I do Chan's work. Oh, BTW, got in contact with MFK about Abolue Pour le Soir. Here's the reply ; We are in the regret to inform you that our fragrance wardrobe is evolving from season to season and unfortunately a new production of Absolue Pour le Soir Eau de Parfum is not scheduled at this time. I also asked if the had any defective box/bottles of it, but no. I'll keep my eye out on bn , for one might pop up again. stay safe and be well
I'm just sampling this today. Holly Moses, this is a nice wearable patch. I totally get the rose as well, wonder if it's an accord from the patchouli and matte? The sheerness for a patch scent, and subtle floral aspect do it for me, I'd definitely be interested in a full bottle, but I'm a massive patchouli lover. The pepper is a big player as well. The interesting thing is how well the three play together, like a jazz trio.
This always reminds me of L`Instant de Guerlain... and "Tempo" means "Time", very similar to "Instant" meaning... is it just a coincidence?... maybe ... ;)
L’instant de guerlain eau extremè is my all time favourite, but so hard to find now. I’ve heard people compare tempo to lidge before. I’ve never tried but will make it a priority to try this now !! Another great review. Thank you.
I love this one a lot! I think it rounds out my small collection of mostly florals quite nicely! I wear Byredo Inflorescence so much it's nice to wear a patchouli from time to time :D great review !! It's a very easy patchouli to love I think and the bottle is groovy

Diptyque does have that simple refinement I enjoy very much. Need to revisit this one

Great review Pep. My favorites patchouli are coromandel, monsieur and sticky Fingers. Regards from Mexico.

Lidge is a perfume i haven't tested, so can't say. But this is not in my top Patchoulis
@@TheScentinel Sorry Pep, which one exactly do you mean by tgis?
@@raulsaavedra709 typo. I meant Tempo.

And the thing is i have hardly smelled any of the ones you have.
Oh yes, the profumum roma patchouli is also fantastic. Somewhat sweeter and lighter than tempo. Might be my 2nd favorite patchouli scent.
Lorenzo Villoresi has a very dirty, dark patchouli... takes forever to open up, but once it does - it's a wonder.
@@Tschouki I have it and can confirm you are spot on
@@RichMitch Thanks mate.
His Vetiver is also unbelievable.
I sniffed this today & absolutely adore it!!!
I just blind bought this and I’m a woman and usually go for unisex fragrance. Do you think this is more masculine leading?
