Fantastic job blending your background 2D buildings/terrain into the foreground 3D stuff. Hard to tell where the real stuff stops and the fake stuff starts. I know that's really hard to do, but you have one of the best I've seen.
@@SeaboardCentral I'm watching this video for the 3rd time, and learning a lot, and you've also convinced me that the Proto Throttle is the way to go. So I'll ask for that for Christmas. Question: Are you using code 70, or code 83 track at the ADM Plant? And are you switching the cars faster in this video than your normal operating sessions, or are these speeds typical for yard work?
Super awesome! The proto throttle with momentum, absolutely adds more realism to the locomotive operations, and you have it programmed just right! Great job as always. 👍
I second that. The way you have the Proto Throttle set up, with momentum and braking, significantly enhances the realism of the operations. With a little practice, an operator can throttle his switcher almost exactly like a prototype. I definitely want to try a prototype throttle myself.
That ADM plant is really coming along. I love your approach to construction; where you develop scenes as you go along. Constructing a big layout & finishing one stage before moving onto the next is a good way to burn out.
Thanks! Yes, some folks choose to build all the Benchwork then do all the trackwork and so on and so on. Not me. I’d go nuts if I did it that way. I build one area at a time to a semi finished stage before moving on to the next. This way I get to operate one part while I am starting the other. Keeps things interesting and avoids burnout.
Thanks! Glad to have you aboard! Hope you find some of my previous videos entertaining and interesting. I try to release a new video every Sunday. Stay tuned!
This section could be a layout by itself! very nice. I like your proto throttle. Even without the proto throttle I program my decoders with maximum momentum and use the brake to stop the train. It just looks, sounds and feels so much more realistic. I would enjoy a video on how you program the decoder to work with the proto throttle, particularly using only 8 throttle notches. As always nice video, Thanks
Love the ops as usual. I concur with all those who said, Smooth and prototypical. I'm still searching online for a GATX MP15DC myself. I have a CSX DCC Athern MP unit. runs pretty good and has good. v. Looking froward to your next vid
Nice one. Do you push the spotted cars in one by one occasionally too? I assume only one car gets loaded / unloaded at a time? For brits like me who are unfamiliar with some of the US operations and terms, could you do a short video of what the plant takes in and where, and what the plant puts out, please?
Thanks! I plan on putting in some car pullers which are large ship type ropes attached to an electric motor. There is a hook on the end of the rope that can be attached to the cars and pull them slowly through the building. I’ll be sure to show them in a future video. I also plan on producing a car forwarding video early next year to show how cars are routed. As far as this plant goes, it receives inbound loads of corn and produces outbound loads of DDGs and ethanol. Tim
@@SeaboardCentral Awesome, Tim! The car-puller sound interesting. Thank you for the information. What are DDGs, though? I look forward to future videos.
Could you explain how you built that crossover? I have a similar situation needing a crossover just as both tracks enter a curve and can’t come up with a combination I like. Yours looks perfect and works very smooth.
Thanks Gary! I use uncoupling picks to uncouple my cars. No under the layout magnets. Personally, I don’t like the trip pins. They aren’t realistic looking and are a distraction due to their size compared to the semi scaled couplers I use. Eventually, all of my cars will be equipped with magnetic air hoses. Tim
I appreciate you sharing your real world experiences with us in these videos.
Thanks! I am glad you are enjoying the channel. Be sure to check out my Realistic Ops series as I go into depth on prototype operations.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Tim. Love how realistic it is with the proto throttle and how you have it programmed. Very cool!
Thanks Deryk! Yes sir, the ProtoThrottle is a lot of fun when you have the decoder programmed right. You never go back to the other controllers.

hey Tim, nice switching operations, pretty smooth and prototypical. The engine sounds really add to the whole operation. Terry

Awesome video!! That throttle does add so much to operating, especially in switching ops.
Thanks! Yes it definitely dials up the fun factor.

Merry Christmas!
Very nice operations !!!! Everything looks and sounds great !!👍👍
Thanks Paul!
Great choice of music {opening segment} this layout is really coming out nicely. Keep'em rolling on the high iron! 🤓👍

Thanks Calvin! I found this one on eBay from a seller in Canada.
Love those MP15s. Rare birds now-a-days.
Thanks! Yeah a lot have been sold off by the class ones. They like to replace two units with one to save fuel.
Great operation!
Thanks! Be sure to tune in this Sunday to see some more action on the SC.
Great video of an excellent layout. The proto throttle is great
Thanks! Yes the ProtoThrottle is something that I can’t live without now.
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
nice Tim , stop and chop
Thanks!
Nice ops secession.
Thanks Robert!
Good stuff man.
Thank you!
Great stuff, Tim!
Thanks Kevin!
Smooth operating and beautiful layout. Forgive me if it’s covered in another video but do you use magnets for uncoupling?
Thanks! No uncoupling magnets. I use an uncoupling stick. I don’t like the looks of the trip pins so I cut them off. Tim
Great ops
Thanks Kinny!
THANK YOU FOR VIDEO

Excellent ops action. I forwarded the link to a friend whose son is a high-up at ADM, so blame me if the SC gets sued for logo usage or whatever!

@@SeaboardCentral Not a problem... they'd have to sue the model manufacturers... who they probably already licensed anyway!
