I have received many questions about how to fix issues with Microsoft logins and the Authenticator app. Unfortunately, Microsoft will be the only resource to help, as I do not have access to override or fix your Microsoft Authenticator app or your Microsoft account!

Thank you for this video! My IT dept didn't bother to send out step-by-step instructions, only sending a generic TH-cam video that didn't work. No information on how to link the accounts, where or how to generate the QR code, or how to accomplish any of this. I so appreciate you posting this. Like others, I've spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to get this done before the deadline, and happened across your video. Took five minutes by following your directions, pausing, doing what you said, then going forward. You're a godsend.

How many different accounts can I have on the authenticator and use? This seems confusing. I tried to setup a second login for my computer today as per instructions by MS support to try to correct a problem on my PC. I got stuck when Windows wanted me to use the authenticator to login to obtain an new password.

Hello! just found your channel, because I'm looking for resolution with my issue. I was locked out from Microsoft authenticator, I cannot log in from office pc, It say's QR CODE already used, to that account , generate new code. I don't know what to do... can you help me pls. Thank you.
I’m having issues with my work email . It happened when I changed phones . When I try to login from my laptop it says that more info is needed and then it says it’s sending a code to the Authenticator app but nothing comes up

Am I supposed to be saving an authenticator passcode or recovery seed just in case my phone is lost? I am looking at changing phone services and my have to get another phone. Or is it as easy as signing back into my account and it will load all the apps I have installed that require this authentication app to sign on? Thanks so much!

I downloaded the app in my android phone, then in the 2 step verification QR code needs to be scanned.i cant see any QR code except myQR scanner, how can i scan when i dont see any QR code . Do I need a laptop then use my phone to scan it? In your video you are using a monitor then you took picture of the code
Why not a personal account ? What if you don’t have a school or work account.
My apologies, you can use a personal accounts. I created this video primarily for businesses but it works the same for personal accounts.

In my Microsoft autheducation option I don't have call or text message option. I was using app mode only. Unfortunately my mobile phone crashed and with new phone I'm unable to add my existing details of my Microsoft account details.

Can't get to step 1 because in order to log onto 360 it requires I authenticate with Microsoft authenticator which I never set up.

Wish I could log into my MS 365 account. I wonder why Microsoft suggests using the authenticator when you can't login to your account? All H breaks loose when you change your phone number.
Would we have to do this with all users in an organization one by one or is there a setting that we can create that will prompt the users to register their account with the authenticator app?
Hello, you can set "Security Defaults" to force MFA for all users in your 365 tenant. You can review how to here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/security-and-compliance/set-up-multi-factor-authentication?view=o365-worldwide

Tried this doesn’t work says error or can’t sign in even when I do on the phone or laptop or tell me a six digit code but the app is showing 8
I needed to do this for a work vpn. My phone is a Nokia 635 with Windows 8.1 on it & I couldn't get it to work. It kept saying the store is not available right now etc. We then tried it with my wife's phone which is a Iphone 6, with safari, & it worked. Is there something I could do to get it to work on my phone? My wife thinks that we might just be able to switch the sim cards, but the phone co. needs to be involved. Great video, & I'm hoping for now this will get me through the initial stage of things with my I.T. meeting today. Thanks for a great video.

nothing on the screen is happening as he describes it at all. the computer wants me to enter a number in the authenticator app and the app isn't even on my phone. when I download the app it's not free, it's like $4/month and it won't install until I agree to pay.
i have outlook 365 protected by google authenticator. how we can change it from google authenticator to Microsoft authenticator .

how do i actually run this blessed microsoft authenticator on my new phone? I cannot get to apps on my phone - it is just showing me the verification process screen, not a home screen. It's supposed to send me a code, but it doesn't show me a screen where I can see a code, as I'm still verifying.
It demands to do verification first, before I can get to the home page - which has the Apps including authenticator. But to do the verification it requires the use of this app that I can't get to yet!
i dont have those options :S i just want to know how to get my autheticator to work with normal outlook :S

What do you do when a users doesn't get that "list" and it asks first to authenticate? But the authentication doesn't send a code?

why select Microsoft Authentocator notification as the default?
You will want to select Microsoft Authenticator as default if you plan to use it and the primary MFA method. Otherwise, it will first use the method you have selected as the default when you log into your Microsoft 365 account. I hope that helps

Hi Amir,
After logging into Office.com you will need to navigate to "View Account" then "Security Info" to change your phone number. Keep in mind that for security you must have access to the phone number currently configured in your "Security Info" in order to change it.
If you no longer have access to the phone number listed in your Office 365 account you will need to contact Microsoft for assistance: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12401/microsoft-account-get-help-by-email

I can't even get to my initial page. when my company added this I can't even get to the page where my initial are!!!
At 1:40 it asks me to confirm with the app, but it doesn't work. The app doesn't show any confirmation whatsoever. That's a big mess. Terrible code! Not working!!! I HAVE TO CONFIRM THE APP WITH THE APP WHICH IS NOT WORKING!!! How stupid is that!!!!?
You might not believe this I was held hostage for two days. That Microsoft Authenticator to work on my phone kept timing out. I started over with everything by removing all Microsoft Accounts. 🙃🙃

Hello, please make you sure selected the Microsoft Authenticator as the default multifactor method, this is explained towards the end of the video. Let me know if that fixes your issue, thanks!
@@Jasconv what if I don't have login in my computer as well. Then even in order to login to your computer you'll have to promt login from either push notification or security code on the app, which I don't hv since my authenticator app was deleted.

I want to uninstall Microsoft Athenticator
First either buy a stereo mic or fix the audio before posting, real annoying that you have audio on left only .
This video was horrible. It absolutely did not follow anything on my computer screen or phone that would allow me to figure out what to do. I am no closer to having a new method to set up email than I was at 2:15 PM. Yes, I have been messing with this for that long because there are no instructions on how to use the authenticator app anywhere that I found helpful.
