Better than opening a jewelry box! Nothing beats a beautiful vintage revolver. :)
Oh yes! It’s a wonderful feeling when you find a gem of a revolver from the past! 👍🏻💪🏻
@@HillbillyNitroUSAthe post model one you got thats a replica can you order those
@@HillbillyNitroUSAis the 1975 model all steel like the old ones
@@HillbillyNitroUSAwhat make one cylinder looser than the others I got that with my gun one cylinder is a little wiggle not much what cause that.
I just picked up a 1973-1974 36 no dash square butt snubby, and it's amazing. The J-frame snubs are my favorite guns I think.
I love collecting my 38s. My favorite little snubby.
My brother lent me his Model 36 . It was manufactured in 1981. I love it and it is accurate. I have been carrying it while I have it and it is comfortable either IWB or as a pocket backup. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful revolvers. Such attention to details in the old days.
Yes indeed! 👍🏻👊🏻
I just bought mine 3 days ago. Very good condition. That's my serial number is just under 600,000. Put that at about 1965 or 1966. I'm excited to own this pistol
Very nice!! They’re great, handy little revolvers. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻
That is a beauty! You scored great I'd say, brother! The paper inside the box, is a real nice, added bonus.👍
Thanks brother!
I completely understand you sir. I too have the sickness for the vintage Smith revolvers. It is a Sickness. 😆
My last score was a no dash model 60 from 65-72 by the serial numbers. Pinned barrel. Secret service style Medallion grips. Too sexy!
Really nice to get some new guns for the collection, thanks for showing.
Thank you! I really appreciate it. 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
Snub nose revolver 38 special was carried by detectives , pilots Air Force, aviators in in the Army and Marine and Navy, and Coast guard, also snub nose revolver was carried by military CID special agent and Air Force OSI special agent and Air Force missile silo launch technician and operators,in the 60s-80s
And also bad guys 🤔
My bedroom gun is a vintage S&W Model 60 snub nose 38. It’s accurate at standard combat distance (7 yards) and is highly reliable.
That is amazing! Congrats!!
I have a 36 no dash, square butt in nickle. And a 36-1 round butt in nickle. They're probably my 2 favorite revolvers that I own. Yours is very nice looking. Congrats
That's how I luckily ran across my 53 S&W Regulation Police model 4 in. barrel in .38 s&w caliber and diamond grips and boy what a shooter and accurate as all get out but I did pay on a monthly pymt plan to get it for it was around $575 with no box or papers but it's mine and I love shooting it so much so that I've collected around 900 rds. of ammo for it which ain't cheap these days for sure !!!!
That "ding" looks like a NOTCH !!!!
Love it! Great video and great attention to detail by you sir. I own a Mod 60 Stainless J round frame that I purchased new in 89 and it is still my favorite handgun. I love the history too. I only wish I lived in Tennessee! Couldn't help but subscribe! Keep making em!!!!!!
my first revolver my mom bought for me in 89 a 686-3 for my birthday slash graduation i still love that gun.
Very nice collection of classic snubs!
Do collect these Greg?
@@dannyboy74 I do. I've got a few old classics snubs - a Model 10 snub, and a couple of Chief Specials.
Such beautiful old school guns. I got the no sash 36 and it's trigger action is just the smoothest in a revolver. Good find.
Thanks brother! 👍🏻
Pretty mod 36 I like them to mine is a 1965 perfect condition no dash flat latch very sweet the finish is perfect not a mark on her love yours being a pre model awesome thanks for sharing yours.
Thanks brother! Very nice on the 1965 flat latch! I bet it’s a beauty!! Gotta love old school Smith and Wesson! 💪🏻
Beautiful collection!
Thanks!💪🏻
Absolutely love those vintage Smith revolvers and their boxes. Seen a dude at one of the gxn shows recently with about a dozen vintage 357 mag 38 spl S&W revolvers, ranging in size from snub all the way up to 8" barrels. Ive started a little cash stash until next year when that show rolls around and hopefully he sets up there again... cuz im gonna snag one (or 2) up.
I can't believe a vintage Smith like that would show up at Harvey's. Maybe I need to stop in from time to time. I live in Knoxville too.
Knoxville in the house!!! 👍🏻💪🏻
Yeah, I was surprised as well. I have seen some cool gems pop up in there though. Especially, on their auction site.
You're a lucky boy! Sweet collection Boss.
Thanks brother! 👊🏻
Old style flat latch cylinder release...with original box...
NICE score...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I just got my hands on a mod.60 which looks absolutely identical... Greatest little firearm
Sweet brother i love it good for you my man. I have the ole model 12-2 , also the model 36 no dash , great pieces of Americana 🇺🇸 Love the old school revolver videos keep em coming my brother
I have a Model 37 Air Weight , made in '82 . My planned carry gun was a Colt MkIV Series 80 chambered in .380 . As sweet as everything could have been , the little Colt turned out to finicky about ammo . In fact , I havent found one brand of ammo , regardless of bullet weight , that will get through 3 magazines without a failure to eject or failure to feed . The Model 37 does not care what you feed it , it fires every time . While the Colt carries easier , it has become trading material , and I cant sell it without telling a prospective buyer about the issues . I've come to love the J frame and cant see another auto loader in my future anytime soon .
That is awesome 👍
Thanks 👍🏼
Nice find - True Beauty quality of years ago. Just Subbed Take care 😄
Nice gun, I want one.
Thanks brother! 👍🏻
Beautiful!
Beautiful
Thanks brother! 👍🏻
Nice score. Love my model 36.
Thanks man! 👍🏻
I have one from 1971. It's almost in new condition 😊
Very nice score Happy New year.
These are beauty's
Thanks!
Diamonds are a Hillbilly's friend, yeah she's a beauty for sure, I would say you got lucky getting the box an wrapping paper, even if you played a fair price, thx for the vid.
Appreciate it brother! 👊🏻
I too have an affinity for Smith snubbies both J and K frames. As another commenter said, it's a disease. You have some very nice pieces there. You need some Bodyguards.
Very Nice! Question...in todays market value of Model 36 around 1968, does not have the diamond on the grip, but with original box and barely fired. In beautiful shape. Serial Number starts 572xxx Selling on Outdoors Trader in Georgia. Thanks
Awesome cop, I’m jealous lol
Haha! 🙂 Thanks brother! 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
Nice piece of S&W Chief Special Pie. Not just a pretty paperweight I hope. If you are going to shoot it. Make sure you use period correct ammo. No plus P ammo. Some nice wad cutters or 158 grain standard pressure lead round or flat nose will work just fine. And as for that model 10 snubby Jack Webb (Sgt Joe Friday) would love it. May your New Year be healthy and safe. 🎉🇺🇸
ZERO WADCUTTERS
Mine is a 1979/1980, square but, J73XXXX and i like it.
What was the name of the gun store you mentioned?? I go to Smokey Mnt Knife works quite often and would love to stop by the shop that had that and see if I can get lucky like you did. I found a beautiful 19-3 last year in Cleveland Tn but I don’t have an old J frame like yours. I bought a 360 pd and man was that a terrible decision lol, waaaayyyy too light for full house 357 mag
So I just keep in touch with my local pawn shops on anykind of vintage S&W revolvers on a weekly basis or monthly basis to see if any come in for sale !!!!
Good lick there 👍👍
Yes, indeed! Thanks Bob! 👍🏻
I'm so jealous! Can't find one.😪
I have pre model 36 chief special airwieght, i'm selling it!
I have one and it came with a rubber grip so I went to buy its original grips and eBay blocked the sale...saying it was military and restricted?
But in the bright side I found a seller that sold me the grips...😮💨
It's Christmas Eve, end of 2023 do you still have it ?
Still got mine.
Yep! She’s setting on the night stand as we speak.
S&W 4 in pre Model 10s were standard issue to Army helicopter pilots until the M9 was introduced in the late 1980s. No need to smuggle one from home.
Would it be possible to put a flat release on a smith & wesson 637?
I have an older model 36. When you release the cylinder it says m 36-7
I'm just wondering how to date these.
It doesn't have a pinned barrel but it looks closer to the 70's models.
The serial starts with BFP****
Any tips?
Pinned barrels were discontinued in 1982.
So I was bequeathed one of these and it appears to be pre 1968 because the diamond grip, very little use , I'd say collector condition. What's a fair price if I wanted to sell it..thank you
i just picked up 337 ti and a 66-1 2.5 inch
Very nice!
@@HillbillyNitroUSA I also have a couple of 36-1 snubs and a 3 inch also 296 625-10 which they only made 850 of a 27 3.5 inch 2 model 17 a model 43 flat latch from the 50 various others but my first and favorite 686-3 my mom bought me for my 18th birthday slash graduation present. To many classics to list I collect auto 5 and rem 11 you name it if I can buy it I usually will find a way to shit out the money lol.
NICE premium tool
Thanks! 👍🏻👊🏻
Nice gun but S&W did not use the flat latch cylinder release on the model 36 after 1966 so your model 36 is pre 1967.
Okay, you later explained it.
I ordered these grips do they fit jframe airweights? I dont see why not
Yes, they should fit.
Got my gun this morning from expansion2 on wickr glock19 gen 5.fired this morning and it was fine...
I think what I have is a 77 model 36 no dash it’s got the floating j at the beginning of the model #. Can anyone tell me if I can keep all chambers loaded while carrying?
I used to have the exact same one......a "friend" of mine stole it
I hate to hear that. Damn thieves!
This is off topic but can you recommend a store that I can purchase a m16a1 parts kit everywhere I check they are out of stock I know you're into clones and vintage thanks
I think Apex has some every now and then, but I haven’t been on there in quite awhile.
@@HillbillyNitroUSA Thanks for responding back to me Yes I've tried them they are constantly out of stock thanks
BROWNELLS ,MIDWAY
Nice snub-nosed pistol
Thanks brother! 🤙🏻
🇮🇩 TOP 👍👍👍
Thats the day i was born 1956 12-31-56

In 1956 this gun would cost approximately $63.
Roughly $650 today.

Why gun boxes are now so Ugly...... i love this vintage pack .... so beautiful

Rare find.
Yep! They aren getting really hard to find. Especially, with the original box.
What you pay for it
Thats nickle plated or stainless
Wipe down after putting fingerprints all over them
A dandy find,,
Thanks brother! 👍🏻
