Wow! Just seen this comment.. Thanks for sharing that with us! Oh and that bit at the end really hurt my soul…😢 Man, some people just don’t have a clue. The truth is, it happens A LOT when collectors pass and the family couldn’t care less about their collection. It saddens me because (we gun guys) know all of the time and passion (let’s not forget history) that goes into creating a nice collection of firearms. Again, I really appreciate you sharing that with everyone! 👍🏻🤙🏻
I have a Smith & Wesson 686-3 4” barrel in like new condition with original box & paperwork. It’s stainless and it’s a pre lock model made in the 90’s. It’s an absolute beauty of a gun and such a joy to shoot. I love vintage Smith’s.
Beautiful collection yoh have the best one I've seen so far. Would love to have your autos they are awesome. Anyway great video hope to see more . And thanks for sharing.
Unreal collection. I have many new Smiths but just recently dipped my toe into the vintage stuff. I picked up a 1958-1962 model 14. Not sure what people think of it but it’s super gorgeous and a really flat shooter. A model 29 or 39 is top on my list though. Thanks for the video. Was awesome to see.
All you hand guns are so nice. This is my favorite style and you have Originals and Lightweights. Very nice. Edit: 38 is special. That hump back with the single action is so nice
Just started buying guns about a year ago. Finishing up all of my basics and then I will start collecting. One day I hope to have a badass collection filled with historical firearms that I can pass on. Thanks for sharing bro
Awesome brother! Welcome to the hobby of collecting and investing! I was in your spot about 10+ years ago. Just take your time and before you know it you’ll have a nice collection. 👊🏻
My brother has loaned me his Model 36 and I love it. His 36 was produced in 1981. It has been accurate and comfortable to shoot as well as carry. My mother used to carry one of those hammerless S&W revolvers back in the early 70s. If I remember correctly it had a grip safety. My normal pocket backup is the S&W M&P Bodyguard. Thanks for the video and keep shooting.
Thanks brother and thanks for sharing! 👍🏻 I tell ya, if I could only have one Smith. I think it would be my model 36. They are simple, compact and will get the job done any day of the week. Hope you had a merry Christmas!
Great looking collection! Love the M49! I’d fire all of them, definitely not much but you gotta run them a tad. My first gun I ever bought was a 1982 19-4, 6 inch. Definitely my fav. My others are 10-5’s both square & round butt. And a 10-10 square butt.
Thanks brother! I really appreciate it. 👍🏻 Yeah, the model 49 is probably my top favorite in my small collection. It’s in such great condition, it’s really hard for me to even think about it as a carry option. I doubt it’s ever been fired. The model 59 is awesome! I was very surprised the first time I fired it.. It feels great and VERY SOFT recoil! My only complaint would be it’s a bit of a handful with the exotic wood grips I put on it, but it’s not a deal breaker and I still have the original factory grips.
A man after my own heart and from East Tennessee like me! Love my N, K, & J frame pinned & recessed revolvers! Can't mention them all, but have four 29-2s, 66-1, Highway Patrolman, 19-3 & Dash 4, 36, 60, and others. Just started collecting the Gen 1 & Gen 2 nine mm pistols. Only two right now, Models 59 & 539. I love these old Smiths. Some are Safe Queens, others are shooters.Great collection you have!
Raising my blood pressure watching your videos. Especially that Model 10. I too have a Smith collection about the same size as yours. Still have a couple more to get but they're getting harder and harder to find. If you do find one you want and it's in good condition don't hesitate because it wont last long. I currently have: Mod 34 Mod 37 Mod 38 Mod 60 Mod 940(9mm revolver) Mod 642 Mod 12 Mod 66 Mod 39 Mod 696 Would like to find a 36 square butt, 10, and 49. Maybe stop there. Thanks for posting your collection.
@@HillbillyNitroUSA Thanks much. Many of them but not all were from an estate that had a huge S&W collection. Unfired believe it or not. I tried to grab as many as I could but funding became an issue if you know what I mean. Collecting these is definitely an addiction. I'm like you. Every time I pick one up I want to wipe it down to make it look its best. Thanks again. Subscribed.
Great collection brother you should be proud .. I’m drooling with you pulling out all those 38 snubs in perfect condition. I just got back into collecting smith revolvers and metal frame double action pistols again and all great guns. I have a spot between a pair of 39s and a 459 that your smith 59 would fill perfectly lol.
Nice revolvers. I bought my first S & W K frame when I was 18 years old. 1974 I wanted a Colt but could not afford it or a N frame S & W. I said I'll take the K frame 357 model 13. On the other hand I have XXXL hands and I said these grips look like a Child's cap gun size. He installed the full size N frame grips and they fit the gun and my hand perfect. Still have the gun and puny original grips.
Thank you! Very cool story from back in the day! Even though you couldn’t afford the Colt I’d say you still did very good with bringing home the model 13. Oh and still having it after all those years, you probably couldn’t put a price tag on it because of the sentimental value. Being born in 1980, i didn’t get to experience the days of S&W vs Colt in the local gun shops. I can only imagine… thanks for sharing!
Your just like me holding my prized handguns and wiping them off at the same time 😂 killer collection man but your missing the model 60! One of my favorites!
Awesome collection mate. I live in the UK where you need a license for a bloody toothpick so these beauties aren’t allowed. Jealous is an understatement.
does the joe friday gun have a lot of kick? I havea 4 inch model 10 that I remember liking (haven't shot it in a long time) but been afraid of the small guns. friend talked me into getting a small semiautomatic 9 mm and that sucker has some ouch! I like shooting at a target - not so much for carrying (yet!)
How do you clean the cylinder scorching on an unfired , 40/50 year old revolver that HAS never been fired. I told my friend who owns it (totally NOT Internet savvy so ….) I told him I would ask. Problem is that it’s a 1977 Colt Diamondback. For sure, normal pressure loads only and I was also of the opinion that lighter bullet weight would reduce recoil (Dude is in his 70’s and got Arthur paying regular visits. I am tempted to tell him to leave it in his safe but………the TRIGGER….wow…We put some snap caps in it and dry fired it a few times and he keeps it in pristine shape/ maintenance so I do not know what advise to give him. If it was mine….I would shoot the crud out of it. And, if he has a range day with it he WILL clean it well. Just have no idea about the cylinder face. Any and ALL advise is welcome. He says it was his Dad’s. Thanks
My two cents is that you not only fire the Model 49 Bodyguard (the "humpback") but that you also carry it on occasion. My favorite of yours is the Model 12. If I could have any Smith, I'd take a 624 Lew Horton Combat Special. The Goncalo Alves grips on this stainless 3" .44 Spl are just the perfect touch. And yes, I'd carry it (despite the shocked faces of the white-glove collectors).
I love that model 37 mainly because it's 3 inch which is not as common as the 2 inch. I have one just like it but mine has a great deal more wear on it than yours. BUT......no collection is complete without a model 19 357 mag.
Thanks brother! 👍🏻 Oh yeah, a model 19 is definitely at the top of my list! I love the model 19 and the model 66! I also hope to score a model 27 at some point in the future. I just love that big N frame 357 mag! 💥
I think I made a big mistake my dad had a snub nose model 37 in nickel and he was going to give it to me because I gave him a shield, anyway he took to a gun shop and they made him believe it was only worth $75 because one small spot where the nickel came off otherwise perfect I should’ve just kept when he tried to give it to me.
Oh no! Yeah, that model 37 definitely had a lot more value. There’s some collectors out there that would nitpick something like that, but most people (myself included) don’t really care about wear and blemishes in the finish. That just gives them character! Don’t be too hard on yourself, we’ve all done something like that. I’ve let a few get away that I’m still kicking myself in the rear for.
Beautiful guns. Unfortunately I just don’t have the collector gene in me. Every gun I own gets shot and/or carried, modified in some way, and has a practical use. I have never owned a safe queen.
