- You are onboard with Group-A Racing's Jackie Ding, driving the brand-new, state-of-the-art Formula Lites FL15 (Chassis#007) at Carolina Motorsport Park for its first shakedown test. The car is unbelievably quick, so how far can an "amateur" like me push the limits without putting it into a wall? Enjoy!!

Anyone else finds the tire stickers fading away to be oddly satisfying?
Man, wish they had these cars back when I was doing Formula Mazda. Looks like a blast to drive.
I did many weekends in FMs and this looks like a galaxy away from those tube frame cars. I want to drive the new carbon fiber Pro Mazda cars.

Paul Schneider The timing and scoring wasn't up and running, but no worries, we'll be back at Carolina for the race pretty soon!!
Was your team timing you? Or, we're at least getting lap times on your dash?
I think they were, but with the test being several months ago it's hard to remember! My fastest lap was in the video, so if you'd like to know you can grab a stop watch and find out!
I've already done that. I turn the same lap times in my SCCA Formula Enterprise car. Although, the track has lost a ton of grip now and the times are 1.5 seconds slower.
So, Did this class ever take off?????
One way or another, yes. The series died after 1 year, but the cars eventually became the F3 Americas car after safety upgrades, Halo, and a completely new K20C turbo Type R motor to replace the K24. That series is now alive and well.
Almost looked like the Nurburgring...
Do you have to pay a lot out of pocket for this drive or do you have sponsors covering the majority of the cost?
+Shark24 As of this moment for me, it's quite a lot out of my own (well my parent's) pockets, but we do have some support from some very kind sponsors.
Jackie Ding Yeah that's one thing that sucks about racing is all the costs that come along with it. But its always nice to have some sponsor help, regardless of contribution,
