I'm surprising Retsuko is more popular in other countries , not Japan.
Maybe cause it’s a commentary on Japanese adult life? If might be more interesting to a person who isn’t living that life, rather than someone who knows it well and wishes they could change it.

I love watching Aggretsuko. I find that so funny as Retsuko is a stressful and ordinary office girl by day and Retsuko as a death metal singing demon at night.
I love the Japanese dub! Retsuko is definitely my spirit animal. Just because I look sweet and innocent doesn't mean I have deep seething rage within me!
It's an original in Japanese, so I defo prefer in Japanese even Retsuko sings death metal. Although they look animals but all Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty are 'human' that's shocked me! I love Hello Kitty as cat since my childhood. Broke my heart haha

Retsuko is so deep lost in her self hatred that she can't see that Haida trully loves her for what she is.
But Haida also does not help it that much at all with her situation, so far, I didn't seen much actual effort to do that and help her "punch the world back".

Whenever I get that rage feeling inside. I always sound like death metal. And this is exactly what it sounds like. Retsukos temper Also I don't exactly do those dances with the heavy metal sounds but sometimes I may do.
Finally someone presented Aggretuko in the original Japanese. To each his own, but this IMO is the only way to truly "get" the characters' emotions (especially during the death metal scenes.)
The Shitty boss songs one of my all time favorites!!! I can't believe season 5 is coming up and it's done. :(

As a schizophrenic I relate to Retsuko. I don't like being bossed around (by people and by my own mom, her mom is similar to mine, my mom doesn't force me to date or anything but I don't like being bossed around by her) and I'm starting to become somewhat aggressive towards others. I hope Netflix keeps uploading clips because shes a relatable character for me, and I enjoy watching this show. I am starting to lose my temper too, so I kind of wish I could sing a song and let it all out like Retsuko.
