#imminence #breakdowns
This is the peak of the sound they have been building since Turn The Light On. The drama, the heaviness, the vocals, and the melodies are just overwhelming in the best way. I'm super excited to see where they go from here and excited to see them at the end of the month!
the mixing and mastering so freakin goooood
I miss the light voice parts, too much heavy for me saldy...
This was not an album, this was an experience and a half. The violin in Come What May made me feel things I have never felt before. I was lucky to not only get to see them live when they came by Toronto, but even got to do the Meet and Greet with the guys, and man, what an amazing, humble and super talented bunch of humans. Eddie is hands down my fav vocalist in the scene
L'appel du vide....whenever a track is called this its going to be good. Novelists taught me this.
I love this comment. Lappel Du Vide by Novelists is one of my favourite songs of all time.
@@JohnSmith-th7lx Saaaame
@@JohnSmith-th7lxsame
L'Appel Du Vide by Polaris is also a certified banger.
The Call of the Void
I listen to a lot of instrumental music, the closer is one of my favorites of the record. Eddie wrote a stunningly beautiful violin piece. The boys wanted to make an experience, and they succeeded.
Same for me, but with L'appel du Vide. That one might actually be my favourite non single lol
@thelightyears_ the funny thing is Violin isn't an instrument I like to hear a lot cause of the pure "harsher" music color. But Eddie made one that I vibe with so much.
I found out my mother has cancer today while I was stuck at work. I listened to this album on repeat and it helped me get through my day. It is beautiful, soul-wrenching, and devastating, in the best way possible. Thank you to Imminence for giving us this work of art.
I am so sorry to hear that, stay strong
All the best to your mom!
oh... so sorry..... stay strong, and have faith that everything will be fine, I wish her the best!
Thanks everybody
Thank you for sharing with us. Stay strong, all the best wishes for you and your mom.
Some people in Sweden made our day better and deeper, me in Brazil and you in other country. That's art for you, beautiful and intense.
AOTY for me, so far. I wish they’d released less singles, but I can’t deny that their strategy worked, as I feel like there are far more people listening now than in the past. This is the best that Eddie’s violin has ever been worked into the music. It definitely felt like a feature on the last two albums, but now it’s completely baked into the composition. Also, it’s insane how good this sounds for a self-produced album; the mixing is phenomenal (take notes WSS…)
Not at my best moment. Hearing this album in my car, during the travel to work, made my day more deeper and suitable.
"I keep waiting for death to take me
I keep hoping for you to save me"
When I listen to this verses first time, it brokes me, because I could apply in my life just like it was me the person who was wrote this lines. Masterpiece.
Thank you Bogdan for share your reaction with us! Greetings from Brazil.
Cried when Eddie was screaming his lungs out during "Death by a Thousand Cuts" like bro, calm down. I've been dealing with so much shit since the year started and this MF just made me cry. Well fucking done, well deserved. Fuck me.
The moment Beyond the Pale hit I knew I'd love the rest of the album, the tracks on this album just had more grit to them than Heaven In Hiding, it almost feels like a combination of Turn The Light On and Heaven In Hiding and I'm here for it.
This Album May Have Officially Got Me Into This Band It’s truly a Masterpiece
You gotta listen to the other albums !
Album is 10/10, just sucks that we only got 3 full on songs with the actual drop.
this is why i dont listen to singles anymore. Saved every song for the album
@@Ethereal.Comatose damn bro that’s crazy, I can’t do that lol
Don't listen to all the singles man. It's like watching every trailer and complaining about spoilers.
@Ethereal.Comatose I have been doing this since heavener. And it's worth it every time. I went into this album completely blind and I couldn't be more happy that I did. The temptation was there every day to listen to the singles, but I stuck it out.
Ya me too. I listened to like the first single. And then ignored the rest cause I realized they were releasing way too many I didn’t want to spoil the album. I do the same for movies now. Trailers reveal way too much.
Album of the year right here. Come what may is the first song to give me goosebumps since Guide us Home by Currents. Love this band.
*commented at the beginning of watching the video. I’m glad you also experienced the goosebumps from Come what may 😂
Tasteeee
For me this album is a pure journey of everything!
I could cry, headbang and even be happy to every song.
I thought this can't be better then Heaven and Hiding but jeez they got me!
So much emotion and meaning to every song!
Pure love for Imminence and Pure love for you Bogdan! Thank you for all of your reactions!
And for everyone: If you can see them live just do it! Trust!
I'm not kidding when I say that this is not only my album of the year, but quite possibly one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm absolutely enthralled with it as a whole.
I agree and I’m comparing it to so many other bands over 20 years
Come What May is truly one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard. The first part clashing with the second part is insane. It sounds like its part of some OST
First time i almost cry simply bc of the instrumental of a song and it was because of Come What May. The ending is so beautiful
I listened to The Black on a train on my way to take my ACT, and I can safely say that I'm going to ace it. My favourite album before this was To The Light, by imminence, and I was hoping this would be my new favourite, safe to say it absolutely did become my new favourite. Not only that, for 4 years now, my favourite song has remained unchanged (Something Wicked by Starset) When I first heard The Black, it was the closest a song has ever gotten to dethrone Something Wicked.
Relistening to the first three singles set a high bar for the other songs. Come hell or high water is beautiful, Desolation is absolutely destructive and unbearably heavy, and Heaven Shall Burn is perhaps one of thier best songs objectivly speaking.
When Beyond the Pale came on and I heard it's riff I knew that this would be amazing. The classic Imminence chorus did slightly ruin the otherwise unblemished song, but when the breakdown started it paled(haha) away the rest. The prebreakdown made me think of Bleed From Within and honestly made me forget whether imminence is a metalcore or deathcore band.
Death by a thousand cuts is my least favourite, it's not bad, it's just not my style.
When I looked at the next song, Come What May, I was certain that it was going to be softer, maybe even a balad. Good lord I was wrong. I loved Eddie's vocals in the first verse, gave me Return to Helios vibes, and when the best chorus of the album struck me I just died inside. Eddie's pronunciation of "Reflection" on verse two further made me question whether this is a deathcore or metalcore band, and the breakdown continued that debate. And when the violin came on I held back my tears. This is best non single of the album, perhaps even the best song of the album alongside The Black. I could talk about this song all day.
Cul-de-Sac allowed me to relax from all the chaos and power of the album and lead really well into The Call of the Void, probably the heaviest song of the album, if not of all of Imminence. I am very thankful they didn't do what they normally do for choruses and made it heavier while still sounding like Imminence. The soft part allowed to relax before brutally slaughtering me. The fact that the breakdown came just a tad earlier than it should have from a structural point of view caught me so off guard. One of their best breakdowns.
Continuum is perhaps the weirdest song on the album and one of the more interesting ones.
L'appel du Vide might be one of the best interlude songs, it's so beautiful.
The Black is perfect, and El Noir made me cry
Subject to change:
1. The Black 10
2. Come What May 9.7
3. Death by a Thousand Cuts (The track grew on me so hard) 9.5
4. Come Hell or High Water 9
5. Desolation 8.7
6. Heaven Shall Burn 8 for me, 9.5 from a music standpoint
7. Beyond the Pale 8.5
8. El Noir 10 as a interlude
9. L'appel du Vide 9.5 as an interlude
10. Continuum 8.3
11. Call of the Void 7.8
12. Cul-de-Sac 7.5 - 8
Absolutely hard agree on The Black. That song is the closest I think music will ever get to perfection
Something Wicked is such an amazing song
i ain't ranking the interludes cause i think it's unfair to include them, but my ranking:
1. beyond the pale
2. come what may
3. heaven shall burn
4. continuum
5. the black
6. the call of the void
7. desolation
8. death by a thousand cuts
9. come hell or high water
For me it's
1. The Black
2. Continuum
3. L'appel du Vide
4. Call Of The Void
5. Le Noir
6. Come What May
7. Beyond The Pale
8. Come Hell or High Water
9. Cul de sac
10. Death By A Thousand Cuts
11. Desolation
12. Heaven Shall Burn
For me:
1. Heaven shall burn
2. The black
3 come what may
4 lappel du vide
5 continuum
6 Desolation
7 call of the void
8 come hell or high water
9 beyond the pale
10 Death by a thousand cuts
11 le noir
12 cul de sac
Album of the year so far. I think they will become really big band and I cant wait for next step of them.
They will not because they are independent, but they deserve it for sure.
Didn’t even realize it was out today! Hope you react to the new cane hill also!
second this
My workout went through the roof because of this album, holy shit!
You got me into Imminence, what a special band man.
An album like this deserved less singles, I feel like the impact would've been way bigger. Amazing anyways
It's just the way nowadays unfortunately, singles get the most streams and bands rely on streaming more than ever
Especially for independent bands like imminence singles are very important. While i generally agree with you, we really need to blame the game and not the player here@@Lewis1995
That's what I felt, only 3 new songs if you exclude the instrumental tracks that lead into another song.
My thoughts exactly!
Best album from Imminence. Consistent bangers throughout the entire album.
Le Noir reminds me a lot of the score for Arrival. It's gorgeous.
Its actually On The Nature of Daylight by Max Richter. Unfortunate how similar it sounds
@@playbois4736 I think that is the song. They used it in Arrival.
@@playbois4736 Yeah my first thought too. Sounded a tad bit too close lol.
Absolutely my favorite album from them. They’ve always been special to me (I’ve played the cello for over 25 years) with the beautiful strings and Eddie’s voice. But this album is just hits a little darker and I love it.
My vote was for Erra, but this touched my heart, for me, album of the year. Bring some paper and I'll sign it.
I've just purchased tickets for the concert in Manchester, I'm very much looking forward to it.
I’ve listened to this three times this morning. 10/10 Album of the year
If Boundaries and Vitriol didn't exist, this would be my AOTY
Absolutely amazing album, but it's insane how much more diverse Eddie's singing & screaming is. There's so much range, he really goes all the places.
I completely agree with every word you say! This is epic. A true work of art! I'm really into this band for about tree years. I love Imminence's previous work, but this album shows even more how great this band is. In their case I don't say that I listen to their music. I feel it.❤️🖤
Favorite album since Heavener, which will probably never be surpassed for me tbh. The Black, Come What May, and Desolation are my top 3 tracks. The Black is probably going to be my song of the year. What a banger! An Invent Animate and Imminence tour would be sensational!
Come What May is the climax of the album for me. It's just so damn perfect when it comes to brutal and somber. Then the album concludes with the beauty that is The Black wrapped up with Le Noir. The violin sections hit you hard in the feels.
TH-cam placed BOTH the ads right before the breakdowns....thanks YT. Sounds like a great album though ill have to check out the full thing!
I had zero expectations for this, because I never liked their previous stuff, but this is a great and solid album, violin hits better there than anywhere on their older records imo
Love the whole album, even the instrumentals. This one’s probably gonna be on loop for a while until that new LMTF comes out!
Album of the year - can't wait to see these guys at Sonic Temple Festival
As much as I love the Black and Continuum, Beyond the Pale and Come What May especially, are very special imo. Come What May's ending with the violin is so beautiful
Can’t wait to see them live this month
This is definitely my favorite album drop this year so far..... That I didn't expect. Yet Knocked Loose is next month! Bar is very high for that.
Album of the year for me at the moment.
Album of the fucking year!!!!
I thought they'd peaked with "The Sickness". I was wrong.
Well this album sure didn’t disappoint. All the singles were amazing but rest of the album really surprised me. Come What May is such a great song.
Yeah pretty good album. Heaven Shall Burn's main riff and Beyond the Pale's breakdown are pure perfect headbanging moments.
10/10
this album is a MASTERPIECE
Everytime i hear Death by a thousand cuts, man, that one is my weakness, it hits so deep!I fucking love this band and i can't get enough of praising them! They are the best! Eddie's voice is both my pleasure and my pain. That man makes me cry in a heartbeat! Absolutely love him!❤
The first half of Beyond the Pale has an Amon Amarth-ish sound to it, i can't pinpoint exactly why but that's the vibe i'm getting (and it's totally not a bad thing, i love AA)
Masterpiece was the first word that came to mind after the first listen. Unreal album
That's a big improvement on the last album, it wasn't my favorite, but this? This i LOVE!
Hello from Ukraine, I adore Imminence, this is my favorite band🤘
I cried to that closer track after listening through the entire album, AOTY for me at the moment
This is like Architects, if Architects were more dramatic, and didn't fall off a cliff into a sea of "meh"...
Currently about halfway through my first listen of this album, my first exposure to this band...... fucking hell lads.
they really perfected the prime architechts sound, so good
my favorite album released so far this year!
Got tickets to see them in London in October, now extra hyped 🙏🙏
Surpassed all my expectations; this is my AOTY so far.
Cant wait to listen, ive saved myself from listening to all the singles and i like to have first listen on CD in the car and i had it pre ordered and its been delayed by 5 days, brilliant!
This is probably my most anticipated album since Heavener, and it definitely delivered. Every single song is perfect, even the interludes, which I’m usually not a huge fan of. The instrumentals are way more interesting than on the previous 2 albums and Eddie’s vocal range has improved so much. Come What May, Continuum and the title track are all SOTY contenders. The only thing I didn’t like about this album is that 6 out of the 9 tracks were released as singles, but each song is fantastic and I have gotten used to a majority of the album being released as singles so it doesn’t bother me that much. Currently my AOTY so far and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. 10/10
can't wait to see them live in october !
something unique is always welcomed 👐🏻
Enamorada de este hombre solo por las reacciones y las caras que pone ??? Efectivamente si
Must react to Nothing More's new song House Of Sand! Announced a new album dropping in June. Their last release Spirits was amazing definitely looking forward to this next one possible AOTY contender! \m/
Great contender for AOTY def. Have it on repeat since it came out.
Such a marvelous experience. 🖤✨
Now i don't know what to expect for the rest of the year lol.
I was worried that the album would be similar to the last one (not to knock Heaven in Hiding, its still a great album, just for a full listen through it was very samey for me). However, this is the best album they have released in my opinion and I have listened to their entire discography. This was beautiful.
I love Imminence they are incredible live
I think this is what Architects should have been
Was never a huge fan of this band before. Not to say they didn't have potential and the violin is a nice touch. Not too many bands in this particular scene use it. The Black however, did surprise me. The instrumentation has improved. Eddie's vocals are killer and the violin and orchestration is utilized way better than on the last two albums. One of my complaints about this band initially was that they didn't use the violin enough imo. On this album however, it is showcased at some of its best especially on the closing track Le Noir. Really impressed me there. As for my criticisms I wish there was a bit more variety in the track listing and less "verse-chorus-verse-chorus-breakdown" song structures as that makes a lot of the songs blend together. Overall, The Black is easily Imminence's best work so far and I can't wait to see where they go from here.
I know some people were disappointed with how many songs were put out before the album released. Which I don't blame the band for, this is kinda what you have to do in the internet age to keep people's attention. However, my question for them is (and this is not meant to be judgmental towards Bogdan or anyone) why would you choose to listen to so many songs before an album drops? You don't have to. That's what I choose to do since they took their sweet time before announcing the album.
I feel like i hear a heavy Bullet for my Valentine influence in the riffs of this album - especially in Beyond the Pale
That riff you thought was familiar in "Beyond the Pale" is similar to a Blessthefall song, "Promised Ones"? not the same but it is similar
I was pretty neutral on this band previously. This album is a banger though. I love it
lol i love your reactions so much
This held my AOTY title for about 2 minutes. Then I heard evergloam's new album and it is insane!
I actually cannot think of a better album I've heard
I was waiting for this!
BEYOOONNNNDDD THEEEEEE PAAAALLLLLEEEEE
Actually one of the greatest albums of all time but I couldn't help but feel disappointed that 6 out of the 9 non-instrumental songs were singles. I love the interludes and the closer, but having only 3 new songs with vocals was a little underwhelming. I might have to stop myself from listening to any more than 3 or 4 singles on their next album cycle.
You gotta react to the 2 new Northlane songs. The mirrors edge ep is amazing .
Idk if its just me but minus the the violin in the song but Beyond the pale gave me Architects/Parkway Drive vibes
MASTERPIECE
10/10 what a journey!
Hope you react to Cane Hills new singles, and the new Greyhaven EP. Both really good releases
So far, this is my AOTY
Album of the year contention? Along with avralize of course
Honestly, I wasn't convinced about this band in the past, felt the whole violin aspect was just too gimmicky, it just didn't click as much even though It's quite up my alley. But damn this album is really something special.
Album is so good! I just wish we got more actual tracks and not so many instrumental tracks. 3 is way too many unless they would've gave us like 20 tracks. BTW you should listen to the Skylene album, its fire!
Best album of 2024
You are such a Stan. Thanks for appreciating this masterpiece.
I'm a massive The Amity Affliction fan, but Imminence takes the cake for me when it comes to the post hardcore scene... Just saying 🙌
Still getting used to this album. This mixes so well different genres with symphonic elements, death/black metal riffs and verses. It's just beautiful overall. Instrumentals could have little 'oomf' here and there, but probably setles just perfect when listening more. Song names still mindfucking and lacking 'crackling noise' in the end of 'Le Noir' does not make sense. Still trying to decipher 'The Black' and enjoying every moment of it.
Album is good but a tad too heavy for me. I really liked to the light and heaven in hiding. This album is much darker and heavier.
I love this band and i love this album. Not a weak track imo
New Cane Hill song is a banger!
I understand why bands release so many singles but it really decreases the impact of an album for me with that being said its definitely my aoty so far lol
9/10 for me. Can’t give it a 10/10 because they end of the album disappointed me. Needed one more heavy piece before it closed.
Im glad i left the singles alone except 1 made it better than for most peeps
This album is SO much better than Half Living Things, I still can't understand why this was an AOTY contender for you if you feel the same :D
U gonna react to nothing more new song with I prevail
I love this album but album drop was a bit of an anti climax given how 6 of the 9 songs had already been released
