Hi Great video. Can you do a quick video on how you would close a vertical put spread especially if the trade was going against you. It would be lovely if you had a video of this,
Very nicely explained and showing the nuances in interactive brokers over TOS 👍 Would be great to see this same video but in the newly released IBKR Desktop app
Nicely explained. Can you please make a video on how to close this spread in the same manner we deployed this? Also, there is a feature in IBKR for profit taking. Also how to put stop loss in the trade. If you can please make a video covering all these stuff, it would be great. Thanks in advance.
Do you need to have margin account for all the credit spreads? or I can do it in IBKR cash account as long as I have enough cash in my account to cover the max loss
Hi there, fab video. I was actually able to place my trades, But they sit in the orders window and they don’t get filled. Can I change some values in order for the trade to fill. Thanks
Thanks alot for the explanations, nicely done and informative, do you have a similar video based on the client portal for IBKR based as well doing selling/buy puts/calls options trade. Thanks a lot for your great help.
Great video, very informative. IB is not the most elegant looking interface. Can you follow up with video of how we can close the Credit Spread once it has been filled. That would be really helpful.
Nice video. Thanks. How would you add a leg to a single leg you already own, to form a spread (to be followed as a combination in the Monitor panel) ie add a SC to an equity. Thks.
Hi Jimmy, Thanks a lot for this very interesting educative video. On a credit put spread, how is it possible to set a bracket order with a stop loss and a close limit and which is the most relevant way to chose these levels ?
How do you attach target price and stop loss. On the mobile app you cat preset combos so that when you create a spread it automatically sets target price and stop loss based on your presets. I can't seem to figure out how to attach those presets to a spread.
Hi, amazing video as always, very usefull and well made. I havea question regarding take profit and stop lost, how i can set up a take profit or a stop lost in interactive broker if i trade a vertical spread like a put spread. Thank you in advance
Is the limit equal to the minimum net credit we expect? Should the limit always be between the bid and ask prices of the spread? What if we put -0.95 instead of -0.44, will the order never be executed?
Wow, what a crystal clear explanation, thanks for this video! Wondering if you could make a video about setting a stop loss/ take profit on Interactive Brokers specifically for spreads!!
Great explanation! On IBKRs homepage, they say you cannot trade call spreads on underlyings with American Excercising, do you know if it's possible to trade Bull spreads on US-Stocks?
Lets say I am doing a bull put spread. What happens if the short leg of the spread gets assigned early, my long leg is OTM and I don't have the buying power to purchase the shares. How do I close the shares and the long put on ibkr? I wanna get into spreads but getting assigned makes me hesitant hesitant I can't find any info about how to mitigate an assigned spread.
I trade AMD everyday!! You should grab a channel membership by hitting the 'Join' button and come hang out in the private slack channel and I can walk you through what I'm doing. Cheers!
Hello... how do you close later those spreads, for example if you do a bull credit with premium of 1 dollar and then you want to close that spread with a debt of 0.2 cents so you profit 0.8 cents per contract? Ive trying to do that but everytime i follow the steps i used to do on TOS i end up losing money. Please help
Hey Kristian, thanks for reaching out...let me put on a position in my paper account and then i'll try to close it to figure it out. I'll get back to you. Are you able to highlight both legs of the trade and then enter the value you want to close for?
@@FailFlopFly-SalesforceImports thanks for the clear video! I have exactly the same issue with IB. When you sell to open a credit spread it shows up as buy and then when you want to buy to close it shows up as a sell. It's totally confusing and the opposite of how it's presented in TOS. Could you please help?
Agreed. And now the interest paid by IBKR is even higher. This is a tremendous advantage for IBKR accounts, but never mentioned when people compare platforms. I don't care how slick the Tastyworks platform is. Money is money. If you have significant cash in your account from time to time, say between trades, the interest paid to you is substantial.
Hi

07:44 it literally says "MID" right above your limit price ;-) just click that and IB will auto-fill the mid price for your limit.

Hello, How to place a bracket order on options spreads inTWS, is it possible? Do you have any vidoes?

what is the best way to exit one leg of the spread?

Great suggestion!
Damn. Thanks for this clear and informative video on this clunky platform!
You're welcome!!
just subbed, great tutorial !
Thank you so much, Emmanuel!
Are you still making videos? Can you do this video with advance settings on the mobile app?
For mid price simply add the MARK column to the option chain. The MARK is your pricing mid point. All the columns are customizable.
Thank you, D M!
Mark is not the mid price, brother. It is mostly the last traded price unless the bid or ask more advantagious.
I did notice that when you click the limit it automatically loads up the mid price in the viewable scroll area

Can anyone tell me how to set up a stop loss on credit spreads? I am having hard time figuring out
Can I make my own spread on a chart
How do yo close the vertical spread. Do you need to close it one by one (leg) or close the whole at once? and how to do it?

Am in the same boat. I wonder if these strategies are small account friendly
Great videos thanks
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
mid point shows up when market is open
Hi, why did you stop trading AMD stocks?
I trade AMD everyday!! You should grab a channel membership by hitting the 'Join' button and come hang out in the private slack channel and I can walk you through what I'm doing. Cheers!
Thanks I am not in any rooms, just was watching your AMD trades and was curious why you stopped, if strategy stopped working or something
Nope, still at it...I modified my strategy and continue plugging away.
Great video Jimmy, also looking forward to a Half Dressed Call (HDC) video
Yes, Shahid!! HDC's coming this week!

Tastyworks pays .01% on idle balances. IB pays 3.8%.
