So I've been practicing on Interactive Brokers for Scalping and their fills are incomparable! I love the platform so far and will continue to use this. I wanted to make this video to enlighten you all and if you're having trouble with TOS I highly recommend switching to interactive brokers for scalping and day trading.

Is IB free like tda or tos in terms of creating an account? How much commissions they have per contract?

Great video. You can actually add specific contracts to your Watchlist by dragging them over, negating the need of Quote Monitor.

@Masi, which did you end up liking even now between the 2 types of hot key sets that you can have which is Quote Monitor and the other one? Which one do you use now and how is your set up now for the IBKR platform with hot keys? I am setting it up for the first time as I am watching this video and getting into options scalping for SPY & QQQ. Really enjoying trading index for options now. I want to get better at getting in & out of trades :)

BTW Market on IBK is the fastest and it fills in middle, limit not filling sometimes

I have been founded out that TDA is slow around 3 years, moved to Lightspeed.
Hey lady great content. TDA has really been slow on the fills I agree super frustrating . Been thinking about using IB since watching Tim Sykes a while back, I’d rather pay a small fee to avoid these issues at TDA.

@@ResilientTrades the fees aren't even bad with IB, you save money on commissions too. You pay like $4 per month max for data, half of that you don't even need if you have TOS to chart with

You can add specific option strikes to the watchlist as well.

Thanks for the video explanation and I see you are using a Mac in your presentation. I also use the latest Mac Studio / M1 Ultra with Ventura OS and TradingView's AAPL silicon software BUT having lots of problems with it. The software will not save the Work Spaces so everytime I create the screens you show here, after explicitly saving them I can see the workspace tab but its blank. I have tried working with IBKR tech support but they have not been able to solve the problem so IBKR is not usable for me.

Hi Masi. New to Options trading and TWS. Instead of using a Stop Loss is it easier to add a Conditional Order to an Options contract based on the stock price hitting a specific strike price? So, for example I sell a Put Credit Spread on SPY. I sell the 460 Put and Buy the 465 Put. I want to add a conditional order that says, "if the price of the stock falls to $460 or less buy back the contract" (to limit my losses). Also, must you add the conditional order to the Option AFTER saving it to the Activity window? Or, can you add the conditional order at the same time that you're building the Option? Either way, I know the CO must be added prior to submitting the order to market. I can't figure out how to specify Stop Losses for Options; instead of giving you a list of stock prices to select in the STP field under the Bracket Order it shows small dollar values instead. I don't understand what these dollar values represent in the context of the Options stock price and strikes. TIA
When CLOSE POSITION is lit, are you able to click it to close out your full open position? I ask because it is listed under "Buttons" which leads me to think it can be clicked.

2 years late, but do you mind sharing why not trade options on TD ameritrade as well? They have lower option fees than IBKR. Also, is the chart data on IBKR delayed? Are you still using IKBR or have you change broker since 2 years ago?
Got to fill on market order for fast trade ya your right , stand on the side with limit order , low volume stock limit order only fill part of order

How can one use a very common criteria like: Highest Return Potential OR %OTM (%Out of Money) OR Days to Expiration OR Return on Risk etc.? Would you be able to suggest a relatively ok screening criteria based on what is available via TWS (IB), which really doesn't look much. I would appreciate your help. Thanks

Great video Masi. At around 12:23 you describe the setting for Limit Price as Bid/Ask Midpoint however when I try to do the same I have all the choices except that one. Are there global settings that will cause this to show up in the dropdown menu or can I just change it in the Presets and then use the default in the dropdown menu?

I think she uses same week exp on Monday Tuesday Wednesday, and then next week expiration on Thursday and Friday (bc of time decay)

I just had an issue with TDA last week during a scalp that immediately went against me. It took me 40 seconds to exit the position when trying to sell even .20 below Bid. When I should have only been down $300 tops, I ended up being down $1,400 by the time my order finally processed.

Hi so they do have booktrader not as similary to active trader on TOS but its not bad! Defintely worth the switch though!

I use bracket orders with IB option trader with hot buttons. Works great! Easy peasy once you learn the set-up.
@@bull3969 Thanks. Do you set up bracket orders through preset configuration? Could you share an example? I tried doing through chart trader and had to configure hot keys for buy, profit, stop loss separately.

hey masi i dont know if you knew this or not but before you log into the think or swim software you can change the settings to get better fills on your orders
click on the settings(gear) icon leave at 32 memory usage but change the mb to 6144 and that is it
and wolla you can copy and paste the buy strike into active trader and its in my opinion just as good for fills as light speed

Hi Masi, is there a reason you prefer IB over TOS for trading options?
Because TOS fills are as bad as it gets. At this point probably worse than even Robin Hood. Today for example I tried to exit option contracts at the bid 3 separate times and after not even getting filled at all I had to exit with a market order and my loss turned 3x. Selling at the bid should fill every single time…zero excuses.

This was helpful, but unfortunately my option trader window kept switching underlying stocks, so I bought one option chain and sold another completely different chain. Unreal. First and last day. Hot Keys worked though.
