I have to say, you ROCK. I’ve tried the official guide, I’ve tried other videos and you were THE ONLY ONE to explicitly affirm to NOT ADD the cue files BEFORE the actual m3u. You’ve specified everything and, after following your exact steps, I can finally play RE2 and Chrono Cross on my Mac! Really, words aren’t enough to thank you for this vid.
After searching for a Spanish tutorial that I was looking for valid, in the end I had to resort to the English search and find this fantastic tutorial.

Dude in my ROM folders for both discs I have a ccd file, an img file and a sub file. Do you know what I should do in this situation?

Thank you so much. Physically dragging the .cue file into TextMate did it for me. I was copying the file names manually, then changing the disc number. Also, thanks for not being a jerk like the dev when people come asking for help. It seems his user guide is not perfect after all. Gotta give him props for the application though, it is free after all.

Hey no problem man! I had the same issue and wanted to play FF789 as well as the other ones. When I finally figured it out didn't see a video for it so made one and now life is easier for everyone :P. Hope you can find some classic games to share with your son!

this helped a ton, (after I had to figure out how to create cue sheets for each of the discs for FF7 because they originally weren't downloaded with their bin files)

I am having problems with importing a game I've followed your steps exactly and it won't recognize the m3u
@@IamKratosful Some games have been known for issues like Resident Evil 2. If thats not the case then here's a person I helped awhile back and hopefully this might show an understanding through text.
Make sure that all the download files are just in one folder. So don't have the download files in a folder and place it in another folder which won't read them
([ ] are folders, - is the folder path, = is the file in the folder)
Wrong way: [Playstation] - [Metal Gear Solid] - [Metal Gear Solid Disc 1] = metalgearsoliddisc1.cue
You want it like this
[Playstation] - [Metal Gear Solid] = metalgearsoliddisc1.cue
Do the same steps for the bit files as well.
When you drag and drop the cue file into the TextMate, only delete the certain areas. From the beginning of the text, up to the name itself.
Delete: FILE "
After the dot on the file name delete the rest of the information.
Delete: bin" BINARY and everything after that
Make sure you change the information after the dot to the cue file
metalgearsoliddisc1.cue
Simply save as the m3u by typing it in and whatever name you want to give it and place it inside the Metal Gear Solid folder with all the other files as well. It needs to be able to read the cue and bit files in one single go.
From there you should be able to simply drag and drop the m3u file into open emu.

I don't have a CUE file. I only have a CCD, SUB, and ECM file type after unzipping the rar file. How do I get/make a CUE file? Also what OSX are you running?

tyty so much I was using PCSXR on my mac and I was having trouble with it.
if there are more than one track in the CD folders, create a .m3u file by opening up your favorite plain-text editor and copy and pasting the filenames of your cue sheets, then save as .m3u

Hi I did every step and can't seem to play Metal Gear Solid Openemu has problems recognizing the m3u, I have done this with other 2 games and just seem to have problems with this one

Is there a possibility you can help me with Tales of Destiny 2? its a three disc game with two Tracks per disc, It doesn't seem like the m3u file is being read when I open it in Open emu. Reply if possible Thank you!
How do you do this with the ccd, image and sub files? There is no Bin and Cue files for the game i have....It's Parasite Eve 1 and 2....But cant play the game until I have the m3u for these...They Seem to have successfully loaded into the OpenEmu but wont play until the disc are connected with the m3u.
have you figured this out yet. im currently in the same boat, havent had luck finding anything about it. followed the steps from open emu website and still no luck.
Anybody else having an issue of downloading .bin.ecm & .dmg files instead of .cue?? Is there a fix for that? They don't unarchive with unarchiver and I can't get the necessary line of code when I drag the files into textMate...Thoughts?

Man, I am having the most trouble getting Resident Evil 2 ( both disks on my Mac ) with open emu, I followed these steps, but im still having the issue of Open Emu not recognizing anything. I have dug on the internet and have found nothing to play this title. Please Reach out. Thank you. I also think if you make a second video for Resident Evil 2 it would get much views, since the remake is around the corner

Same issues here. For some reason this is causing me lots of problems regardless of the version I try (original or Dual Shock). Part of the issue (I think) is that there are two ".bin" tracks for each disc...and no matter what I try to tweak, I'm still getting the same issues.
So I'm really trying to get Grandia working for PSX and the only complete rom I could find was a clone ".ccd" file. It also has the ".img" and ".sub" files. I'm not completely sure how to edit that in the text file. If anyone has a solution I would be so grateful! Thank you!
hey, I'm trying to download a 4 disc game called Koudelka and I did step by step of your video. when I drag the .m3u file on OpenEmu it doesn't transfer. do you know why?
I figured out that the reason this was not working for me was because I was using the built in TextEdit on Mac to write the code. Do NOT use this and make the files using TextMate! I realised when closing the files using TextEdit and opening them in TextMate it produced some strange extra hidden code that was not meant to be there and after deleting that in TextMate it worked! Let me know if this helps!

I did the same thing but the lines are pretty short like 4-5 letters and starts a new line
