Dick Van Dyke is a true, multi-talented, American legend. The sort Hollywood no longer produces.
Love him SO much. His films, tv, big part of good childhood memories.

I love this man. Must be preserved at all costs! I do wish that he could have received the Kennedy Center Honor at a time other than in 2021 when there was social distancing. He deserved to receive it in a packed theatre and experience the honor with the live performances and adoration of the audience.
The thing about The Dick Van Dyke Show is that each of the main Characters were intelligent people finding themselves in silly situations and so on, which brought the Comedy. Nowadays you have stupid people doing stupid things - so you're no longer laughing with them you're laughing at them. There's also no suprise in stupid people doing stupid things, you're expecting them to do something stupid, but there is always a surprise when an intelligent person does something stupid, because not only are you not expecting it but because it's intelligent people doing stupid stuff, the joke takes on a sense of being a smart joke.
