Live on German TV , Deep Purple perform the classic groove of NO NO NO featuring the legendary Mk2 line up of Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Jon Lord & Ritchie Blackmore
My dad once asked what's your favorite deep purple song and this was my choice, his response was I'm so happy your my son, when I asked why he told me no one would choose that song except for someone who was really listening. Love and miss you pops
Ritchie's sound is so delicate yet so powerful at the same time, mixed with Jon's organ it's no wonder that by 1973 they had taken the music world by storm.
He was even better with his one year in Black Sabbath on the "Born Again" album which is a fantastic album of music that goes criminally underrated within the immense Ozzy and Dio Sabbath catalogues.

My exact same feelings !!! Just simply amazing band… I always said they played like a tight band … Ian scream at end equals or surpasses child in time screams…No one I mean no one better than Ian esp longevity…Blackmore at his prime along with Paice Glover and Lord…RIP

The thing I love about deep purple is that their constantly trying to one up each other, which makes the energy and the vibe of the music intense and mind melting. The combination of improvised and rehearsed sounds is epic to say the least.
Ritchie's riff is phenomenal as always. Plus all the licks he adds aside from solo are top notch. Only matched by the rest of the bands musicianship. Of course Gillan is included. The song is great! And exclusively owned by Deep Purple's unique style.
@@Tunkkis Or you could try out a late seventies Twin- or Quad Reverb amp. They too were of ultralinear design, but not as prone to output transformer failures as the Marshalls, which had somewhat underdimentioned units installed from the factory. They're still plenty loud, though, at 140 watts. Or a same period Pro Reverb at 70 watts, also of ultralinear design. Still packs a great deal of punch, I'd say. Plug one of these into a Marshall 4 x 12 with Celestions, and I'd guess you get a pretty fair approximation. The bass player would need a pretty hefty rig him/herself to keep up with you, put it that way:)
JUST WATCHED THIS AGAIN FOR ABOUT THE MILLIONTH TIME! THANK YOU deeppurpleos FOR POSTING IT AND THANK YOU BlackPurpleFish FOR SENDING IT THROUGH TO ME! WHAT A TOP TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes-yes-yes
Thanks for sharing. I remember the Fireball album as the orphan between 'In Rock' and 'Machine Head' that they never played anything from after the promo tour (which I saw). But this live cut is real class
Like @GravityFreeSound and @Antony King said: This ain't metal. This is hard rock! The "Heavy Metal" term wasn't even used for any of these bands back in the day, at least not here in Europe. Over in America, maybe, but certainly not over here. That came later, with Judas Priest, Motorhead and Iron Maiden and all of those.
There wasn't a band that was better than Deep Purple in this lineup- they were at the top of the heap in the early 1970s. In my opinion the best music (rock) was done in the late 1960s and 1970s. Later , when Metal and Thrash, Grunge and Rap was born. they were entirely different for a lot of reasons.... Just wow, great to have seen this !
Deep Purple Mark II was the GREATEST band in the world between 1969 and 1973, man!!
and the loudest
Agree 😂
Easily. Not one bad song.
Com certeza.
My dad once asked what's your favorite deep purple song and this was my choice, his response was I'm so happy your my son, when I asked why he told me no one would choose that song except for someone who was really listening. Love and miss you pops
The TONE of that guitar, pure Ritchie.
Yes Yes Yes. This one video embodies the greatness of Deep Purple.
Brilliant clip of Deep Purple. Never get sick of watching this one. The whole band working together to get that unique Purple sound.

The mighty "Ian Gillan" 🤘🏻
I have always loved Gillans vocals.
He was even better with his one year in Black Sabbath on the "Born Again" album which is a fantastic album of music that goes criminally underrated within the immense Ozzy and Dio Sabbath catalogues.

Love Ritchie's pilgrim get up! Awesome!
Put this band in the Hall Of Fame much better than Green Day.
+Greg Carr Fuckin' Right!!!
Green Day - LOL
Nice one friend I totally agree
They can both be in. It's not a competition. Music isn't sports.
boomer alert
The best vibrato technique in rock at that time!
Deep Purple best band ever! Gillan the best voice of rock!
Gillan......🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😃
Paul Rogers :
Hold my joint .
Fireball, their album, got me hooked on Deep Purple. I still play it loud in the car, I love them.

The cohesiveness of this band is truly perfect... It's precisely in slow songs like this that the attraction becomes even more difficult to imitate.
Some great jamming between ritchie and Jon!
First heavy rock song about the evils that run the world......best tightest rock band ever....😊
Отличный альбом Fireball! 👍💜

I love this version. It's so psychedelic. One of my favourite songs.
Pretty sure Deep Purple reached the highest level a metal/rock band ever reached during that span, specially playing live
incredible song...the lyrics remain true 45 years later
What a performance in time. jon Lord said he loved this album and I do too.
yeah best Rock band of the 70 ´s for me :-)
Ritchie smiles! At Ian! Amazing!
So tight and loose at the same time. Love it.
Cool analogy Diego, I agree.

The FATTEST guitar sound in rock without all the toys... love it.
no shit bro!!!
Real talk. His strat sound was massive!
Marshall 200 watt Major! :-) Extremely loud. And clean! Like a Fender Twin Reverb on Steroids!
@@Innerspace100 I've been thinking about building a scaled down version of the Major (a Minor, if you will) for my self.

In an interview, Mr. Blackmore said this song is nonsense. In the present musical scene this song is gold!
GILLAN GOD!
Genios inigualables y totales.

He was/is amazing movie of his life wouldn’t do enough ! If would have to be a 6 year series
When Deep Purple is spoken about, it's absolutely miningless to mention about Time!
Love how Richie laid down a heavy groove for John to solo to!

Effortless.... Grand!!!

This is good reminder of how much more ballsier and Blues-based early heavy metal was.
There was no bloody heavy metal.
It's heavy rock.
