Doing the Dog and the Monkey together is called the Donkey, locally. The reason the trails are a bit shabby at the mo is because resources are being put to the Commonwealth games loop being constructed over the other side for the XC. I live local so if you need a guide for the less well known trails (and best ones!) let me know
Aaahh I see. I had heard that there was a new trail in the pipeline. I hadn't realised that it was the commonwealth games loop. Once lockdown is well behind us I would love a guide to some of the lesser known lines.
The last descent is Lower Cliff. Never heard it called South Cliff before. I am local and it is a popular place. They should invest a little more in trail maintenance.
That place is actually amazing, if they maintained it like the Forest of Dean it would be so good, it’s beautiful countryside and it’s so natural with all the types of different trees 🌳, and it has bike wash 🧼 🙌🏼🙌🏼😂👍🏾
That would have been a fantastic day for some waterproof socks! Sure, having warm dry feet is _nice_ and _comfy._ But if you're on an all day epic or riding two or three days in a row then they can save a blister ruining your plans. Honestly, they're right up there with a dropper post in my list of favourite mtb things.
the section where you asked what the deal is, the part on the right is a new section that hasn't been finished and the section on the left was closed for maintenance, basically due to covid restrictions any work ground to a halt, hence why there's no progress. The overall poor conditions of the trails was again down to covid, during the lockdown period numbers on the trails skyrocketed, at the same time virtually no maintenance was taking place.
The bit on the right has been left for years. My mate helped build it and nothing has been done. All it needed was to be opened. The left was closed because some trees were down and they were left for ages. The whole thing is a joke now.
Great video!! Hopefully at some point will go up to Cannock!! Looks quite fun!! I will make sure to go on a dry day!! Great video at Woodbury common!! I have recently been there an my video will be coming out on Sunday!!🤘🤘 Have fun riding!!👍👍
Great review, one of my favourite places to ride, liked and subbed. but 720p? Your channel has great potential (this video is put together very well and you have a great presenting style) but TH-cams compression at 720p is horrible (and at 1080P) if you can, upload in 4k!
Thanks for the sun dude. Yeah the 720p was a problem. My recent videos are all 1080p. That’s about the max my laptop can process at the moment. As soon as the new one arrives I can finally upload a better quality product. It’s been too long. I can’t wait.
Nice to see what it’s like in the winter. It’s a shame they don’t just chuck a bit of gravel and dirt in the deeper puddles - as you say could send a newer rider OTB! Great video as usual!
Haha cannock chase home of puddles . Quite mellow contidiond compared to my vid this week 🤣I've said a million times that cannock has fallen behind all other trail centres .I saw this when we rode haldon in the summer
Yeah I agree that it has fallen behind other centres. I put off editing this for a couple of months because I didn't think anyone would want to watch me riding through puddles for 10 minutes haha :)
@@AdventureTrailsMTB I went to degla last weekend and didn’t enjoy it. But was with a first timer so did the blue line. Which was shite. Was so knackered with the climb up and went home. So don’t know much else about the place.
I did the monkey last weekend and thought I was going up a downhill and that someone had turned the signs around for a joke. I was looking for the "South cliff" although I didn't know its name and never found it, o'well next weekend now I know the name. Great video by the way ✌️
Yeah there is quite a lot of peddling needed for the monkey trail. Yeah i made a bit of an error on the video and got the name wrong. It should have been ‘lower cliff’. Ooops.
Well, It can be done with the Dog or without the dog, Without the dog the trail is about 7.5 miles ish, It'll take a hour or so, Many climbs, but the downhills are pretty good.
Hello, my new friend. Wow, it's such a fun ❤💘💖 mountain bike riding course video. It's an honor to be your great channel friend 💖💜💛 Have a happy 💖💚💜💗💛💝 day 👍👍👍🤙👌

Yeah it’s great to be in the outdoors and the trails have potential, but they need to be maintained a lot better than they are.

Really good video I’m riding there on Sunday can’t wait to shred it 👍
Looks like it will be good weather for you. Enjoy!
The section on the right at 5:30 finally opened up a month or so ago
About time 👍🏻
@@bikeandbeyond tell me about it. It makes a nice connection section instead of fire road
That trail where you had to do the diversion is because some of the trails have been tampered we messed up
Tommy boy....... loves it
Always feels like 90% up hill when I do it!
If you go back to Cannock, try the stile cop Dh trails. Those trails are the best descents at Cannock
Yeah they look like a lot of fun. A few bigger drops and features. Looking forwards to lockdown ending!
Do they even maintain the dog & monkey anymore? Makes me wonder.
aged well

Puddle hopping was a bit touch and go at some points. I know the trails get a lot of use, but they need so much maintenance at the moment.
New rider, monkey tail
Yep a bit of maintenance wouldn’t go astray .... good trails though!

@@AdventureTrailsMTB where would you recommend?
@@johnlever6696 other trail centres weather a lot better llandegla for one . But to be honest , it pretty wet everywhere at the moment

im going on sunday so hopefully the weather isnt bad
Just ridden it, your right it was amazing 🙌
Does it cost to use the trail? How much?
Free to use, but you do have to pay for parking.
@@bikeandbeyond wow. So is it funded by the car park? Who maintains it?
I’m very new to this and I’m looking for places to go. I live in Manchester
@@johnlever6696 I’m pretty sure a lot of it is funded by bike rentals and yes the parking.
You should get a oval chainring my g
Am pretty keen to try one!
That trail is always cloased ahaha
I ride it today 😂
Best trails at Cannock ain't got a name or a colour lol you can go real off trail brilliant
You got that right!
Mate it’s 15 miles long 😂😂
