My problem with the mods that add a bunch of weapons is that the current Arma Reforger UI doesn't play nicely with having like 10-20 versions of the same gun (e.g. all the M4 or AK74 versions), you can't quite tell what you're looking at because the icons are small and they kinda spam the menu by taking up the full page. Plus the mod downloads are super big, would be *that* much nicer if Reforger properly supported having interchangeable gun furniture, like a different receiver/handguard/grip/barrel for the same gun. For now, would be way nicer if mod authors didn't get too trigger happy and kept things simple: "Here's your 2-4 versions of AK-74, have fun."
super overloaded mods with 150 different AK and AR variants are Arma tradition, if anyone shows restraint they’ll just be seen as having less content than RHS hell, I’m guilty too, it’s the reason I prefer having the Arma 3 RHS mods with 3CB Factions despite all those mods combined taking up more space than a large chunk of my Steam library
Check out bacon's wepons he has a pack that has a m4 think its the sbr with full availability to change basically everything he's possibly working on doing this to more wepons too

i dont feel like the better muzzle flashes adds to the immersion. muzzle flashes in arma are actually really acurrate and realistic, considering muzzle flashes come from gasses that have left the barrel being reignited after the heat and pressure from the next shot ring out. and muzzle flashes dont happen as often as most games show. you'd most likely see the gun smoke than the flash. but the hit effects mod is beautiful. if only it were a bit more smokey.
I’ve got arma on PlayStation but due to the lack of mods I’m thinking of buying it on my Xbox, is the mod support as good as it is on pc? Or if not can I atleast play on different maps like Afghan etc?
on xbox the mods imo are pretty good. regardless what console you have, unless you have a pc your not going to have all of the vast selection of well created mods that pc players have, but i will say xbox seems to be more reliable when it comes to well made mods. so in short answer, no console will have mod support like pc arma does, but xbox none the less does have better mod support. thats just my opinion, hope this help👍.
All the servers I play on are cross play with Xbox, so while there may be a handful of mods may be PC only, the vast majority of the popular mods seem to be compatible with Xbox and yes you can play all the mod maps.

So you have to download mods and then when you want to play multiplayer and play modern warfare server you have to download yet again mods from that server?
You can play vanilla if you don't want to download mods and when you join a modded server they download automatically, which should only take a minute or two as long as your internet isn't terrible. in saying that if you play the same servers often them you will only need to download updates which is considerably faster. Or you can load up your own mod list if you want to play solo against AI.

That is weird man, I have played with heaps of people who were on Xbox using status quo, so it should work. If all else fails maybe try reinstalling, Sorry I am pretty clueless when it comes to Xbox.

No, if you join a server it will automatically load the mods that the server is running, if you do not have the mods it will download them and if you join an official server it will disable all mods. There are a few more guns than that in vanilla bit yeah the m16 was the standard issue rifle for the U.S during the cold war era which the game is set in. I personally play modded servers with dozens of modern weapons. Try W.C.S or Darkgru servers if you are in the northern hemishere or TPM server if you are in Oceania. Hope this helps.
Not having gun while uncon I can agree to disagree my rifle that I have I always have a sling and slung around my body 2nd no sling no gun… so if they add a sling at the arsenal to be able to attach to gun and save load out that’d be nice

Since the new Arma update a lot of mods will not download. Give them a few days to fix the problem

Delete the mod completely and re-download it again. That should work.
