@@richardflagg3084 haha man I’ve been waiting, because I’m about ready to start my project, got the cases back from powder coat, and $900 DC worth of parts on the bench.
Hi R..another nice one! We’re so blessed to have you, what would you like for Xmas…parts washer (person), shop cleaner, etc etc Maybe I’m wrong but have you a video on carb tuning on saws and all other 2 stroke stuff..? Thank You🇺🇸
Enjoy your videos. I’ve rebuilt some cheappo saws because of money considerations. Any tips on a nice saw to work on without the high price tied to it? There might not be any , but hope so. Thanks
All of the major brands have taken significant increases on parts. As a rule, if I am going to fix/restore a saw, I look for one as complete as possible and in the best cosmetic condition. Stay clear of the cheaper saws for sale that are incomplete or visibly have aftermarket parts. I'm always suspect of a saw with Chinese starters, covers etc. There's more underneath typically.
Great videos. Question about 2 cycle oil/gas mix for a chain saw. MMM OIL says it helps, but that would drastically change the ratio. Have you ever looked into this?
@@steveriggenbach90I don't have any first hand experience with it and can't say one way or the other. What are you wanting to achieve by adding MMM to your mix?
@@richardflagg3084 no heat in shop so winter is great for reading, watching videos, trials on junk saws/parts, research…… being involved. I’ve poured over stuck pistons, even cleaned the plastics. It said it can be done, my question to myself is SHOULD it be done. Thanks
I've been waiting for the finally of this basket case. much respect to you sir for sticking with it ( I dont think i could have) . Also glad your doing well after the flu.
Hey Richard. I have an 80s Homelite xl that is a saw my father and I bought together. He’s passed and the has sentimental value to me. I’m wondering if I could send it to you for repair. The oiler isn’t working and I can’t figure it out. If not are you aware of anyone that works on old saws. Thanks. Scott
Unfortunately it's been a couple of decades since we've had a Homelite dealer around here, or anywhere else for that matter. I don't work on saws that old regardless of make. It's like opening a can of worms. Shine that thing up and put it on display in the shop. I'm not trying to be rude and hope it doesn't come across like that.
Hi there mr flagg sir heres an issue I am having if you can help sir . Husqvarna 560xp or 562xp same thing really just chain that's different. Issue is it will only start on choke rev then die . You start it on choke and it will just die . You can rev it for a minute or so but it will just eventually die . It will not idle . It will only re start on choke straight after even . You can start it rev it for a minute or so it dies then it won re start on high idle but it will re start on choke then same rev then dies . I fitted a carb kit I.e diaphragm pump etc . Exact same. No better or worse ..new plug fitted still same . You can keep doing this as many times as you want it will only start or re start on choke and it will never idle . Any ideas bud . I was thinking impulse but as far as I am aware they get that through the intake boot . As far as I am aware I can't even get another autotune module or carb as they need to be paired to the ignition module through the software and I am not a dealer. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks bud
I would pressure and vac test if possible. That will rule out an air leak and point to the carb being faulty. Sounds like you have a bad low circuit in the carb if there's no air leak. The carb does have to be plugged in and matched to the coil by a dealer.
Hey Richard, excellent video. May I ask how you run in a saw that has had a new piston and ring installed? I always run a full tank in 15 minute intervals to do 3 heat cycles on new saws, so is this the same process on a brand new piston?Cheers from Australia.👍
Rich nice informative video ❤❤❤ 😊😊😊
Yes rebuild good for another 1000 cords great looking job buddy . 😊
Hey man! Where’s those 440 rebuilds! I’ve been waiting lol
Still in the box. Lol!!!

Not yet....
@@richardflagg3084 do you have an opinion on using this while running? I think it could cause damage.

It doesn't sound rude. You're right I'll do just that. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Saya lihat dari parts2nya itu sepertinya sama dengan 365. Apa bisa di pasang di 365 cylinder nya bos

Nice build, sounds sweet!
How do i get in contact with you about having a couple saws worked on?
I'm covered up with work locally. I really can't take on any more outside work. My apologies.

One heat cycle and then let her rip.
Thats not a top end you see very often. Ready to see that baby run.
