    Can you offer a "special edition" 25 and 50 dollar stickers or coffee mugs? I don't need more hats and t-shirts. A 50 dollar tiny hardhat sticker? I'd rock a GOT sticker on my lid. Might help with the saw reviews for those of us trying not to accumulate more junk.

    Earlier this year I went to a dealer to get a new saw for logging. My company pays for whatever I want, so I could pick up anything from any shelf. The dealer, who is one of the largest in Denmark, was lucky enough to have 592's in stock, and I really like husky. It came down between the 592 and the Stihl 500i. Their prices was almost identical. Tried them both, and went with the 592. I can see why a ported version of the 500i is hard to compare with stock saws, but I'm currently logging large oak and beech together with a colleague, who runs a stock 500i, and compared with that, my 592 is just on another level. (Stock). It weighs a bit more, but I don't have to refuel as often as him. And often I can hear his saw really running heavy and working hard, while my saw, in the same size wood, just rips and almost can't be pushed hard enough. I just can't slow it down. But thats just my opinion, tried em both, went with the 592, loving every moment of work.

    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

    @owtlawglock ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Buy a Stihl and you have to buy an aftermarket air filter which will still plug all the time. the Stihl caps allow more debris in than the Husky's. Having the tensioner on the cover is also a better idea as it would be more accessible to replace if needed. The cases are a bit heavier duty on the Husky as well.

    That’s the biggest difference for me between Stihl and Husqvarna is the filtration. I absolutely hate the Stihl filtration because they get dirty constantly. I have to clean the Stihl filter often and the Husky almost never. Husky has figured out how to spin the dirt out of the air charge before the filter sees it.

      Right that improves filtration for sure but to my point the Husky spins the dirt out through its intake design BEFORE it gets to the filter. This is what I like about the husky filters, they don’t even get dirty. I’m speaking from east coast perspective, I know the barks on the west coast can be very dusty or fire damaged.

    Appreciate the review! Having a 3120, 395, 288 in the fleet I’d be curious to try the 592. Being a husky guy myself and recently picking up a Stihl i can say they’re both decent. The biggest thing I hate about Stihl is the deep inset fuel and oil cap. I find when fueling so much dirt and dust gets flushed into the tanks where as the husky’s don’t with the shallow caps. Just my 2 cents

      We have pretty much all the 500 series Husqvarna at work and most the newer stihl saws 500, 462, 400 etc. My personal saws include the 288 I got brand new from overseas and a 395 and honestly I wouldn't give up my 395 for any of the newer ones. The 592 is a sweet saw it makes good torque and revs crazy high but it never feels like it's running in the power band to me either your in softwood or medium stuff and it just wants to 4 stroke like crazy or sit at 10k rpm which is fine I guess in that kinda stuff it's gonna rip still obviously is a huge saw and then in big wood it wants to drop super low out of the power band which is around 7-8k rpm. You can work with the chain and get it doing decent but next to my 395 there isn't much comparison running a 42 on my 395 I can pretty much lay on the saw and it just pulls harder in small stuff or softwood it might be a little behind the 592 but I don't really use a saw as big as a 395/592 unless I'm in some crazy stuff and in those times just seems better to have a saw you can load super heavy without losing most the torque. Also the 592 don't seem to oil anywhere near as well as the 395 we put new bars on the work saws and i put one on my 395 at the same time and the 592 had just smoked the bar within the first month. I mean it was a stihl light bar so it's still fine just knock off the lip made on rails due to heat but my 395 hasn't overheated the bar once even in nasty stumps. Overall I do think the 592 is still a great saw and for the most part you aren't gonna have anything one saw can do the other can't but the 395 just seems to do it all a little better while being cheaper and easier to fix.

    I have its younger brother, the 585. Awesome saw with a 36” bar. I did put a wraparound handle on it, and it really makes a huge difference. Most of the East coast folks don’t use them. I’m not a logger or timber guy, I just love saws and enjoy cutting trees. I am waiting on a decent hurricane to came our way and really put this bad boy into action. There’s a 395 at my local shop that I have been looking at pretty hard but he told me he would get me a good price for a 592. Decisions decisions! Much love to all from North Carolina. Be careful out there guys 🤙🤙

    Great cameo appearance from the kids! Plus a good fair evaluation of the saw. I have both brands of saws and each has their strong points. One thing you didn’t bring up is the 592 is a epa saw and has non adjustable carb, and I believe auto tune . They run lean and hotter than adjustable carb saw’s like the 395 xp. Just have to let them cool down longer like my 661 mag.

    Ford vs Chevy is a great comment on saws. I've talked to fellers and arborists up and down the east coast and in AZ, UT who are diehard Stihl guys, Husky, Jonsered and even a few that would run nothing but Sachs Dolmar. People can get very specific about their equipment. I did clearing in AZ on a national forest one summer and the company had Stihls. After a bit I ended up using an old Mcculloch that just cut better. All metal and much heavier but I was young and in college so didn't mind the weight.

    It's always cool being shown a few tricks of the trade that are totally different from anything you've done before. I've always been a husky man but I tell you I am honestly leaning towards buying a 500i next year when it's time to replace my saws.

    • @happycamper6352
      @happycamper6352 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pull the trigger and get one. Ever since we started with them, other saws just sorta stay on the truck most of the time.

      500i is a cool saw but I would take a 585, 661 or a 462 over the 500i. Honestly I'd prefer even a 390 or 7900 over the 500.

    i will admit i am a husky man however as you said the boys you were with were set in there ways with stihl and it wouldnt matter how good it was they would never have acknowledged it. I reckon its a weapon of a saw and i love the features of the husky 5 series

    Tha is for the post. One thing I wish stihl had done is make all the pro saws have the option of the full wrap handles. I’m left handed so it sure makes a huge difference having the full wrap handle. Really enjoy watching your videos learn so much

    • @happycamper6352
      @happycamper6352 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think all the Stihl pro saws from the 362 and up are actually available with full wrap.

      Maybe they dont because saws arent made to be left handed.

    I finally broke down after a couple years of going back and forth on the decision to get one of the 95cc holzfforma 660's. I mainly plan to mill with it but I needed something a little bigger than the rancher 450 that I've had for the last decade. the 450 is still running great but the 20" really hindered what I can mill.

    Logging in this country has come a long way. My grandfather used to use a two man saw, and they hauled out the logs by a team of horses. I am sure that logging is a lot safer now than it was around 1890!

    I'm a husky man they've done good for me! I don't think I've ever owned a still, but I'm an old timer I grew up with those big old Mculicks and once they got hot they were hard to start, we spent most of our time pulling spark plugs and pulling rope!!. Was from Wisconsin back then ,we had severely cold Winters and I burned wood on these old Farms where I lived and I traded a 750 two-stroke Kawasaki 1972 model plus an extra perfect engine 750cc Kawasaki for a new mackmuk chainsaw with an 18 inch bar I think it was Pro Series I don't remember the numbers. that's how hard life was, I traded my motorcycle for a saw so I can heat my house and work in the woods

    Great vlog Jacob reviewing the new husky like the chappy u were working with I too am a Stihl guy when it comes to power tools like chainsaws or blowers or weed whackers or other grounds maintenance equipment but I will say that husqvarna has in recent years become more of a threat to Stihl so I would not say I am never gonna use a piece of husqvarna equipment but more so Stihl is what I am used to and what I know and am comfortable using but great vlog non the less so keep it up dude from the little island of the U.K.

  • @dcvariousvids8082

    One of the reasons I prefer Husky, is that they are easier to maintain. I run both H. and S. Much as I like the 500i, what is it with Stihl’s insistence to keep with the awkward fuel & oil caps? Just change for the hell of it… and those caps are hell.

    Best 3 saw line up includes a 592xp. In the middle, I pick the 400cm. And for the 50cc, take your pick, either 550xp MarkII or 545 MarkII. I like the 545 because it runs cooler (probably last longer too).

    It is funny you say hard to find. I just pick up a 592xp couple weeks ago to go along with my 500i. Now I can compare the 592xp to my brother in law 661 that he just picked up earlier this year. One of the local Husqvarna dealer in Michigan had 5 592xp and one with the heated handle , 5- 585 , 4-395 and about 3 to 4 of ever pro saw husky line up. At times they will even do a $250 off discount per saw when you buy three or more saws at one time.

      Dealer out of Florida runs the dealer pricing on 3 saws everyday, does single saw sale deals a couple of times a year. Bought a 592 thru them back in May and a 572 in June. I have been running Stihl saws when I switched from Husky back in the mid 1990s.
