Great stuff, Chris. This one holds a special place with me as I remember reading about it in TurboPlay magazine and being blown away by the live actors in a video game!!! That was some next level shit back then!! Thanks for this video. It's always a treat to hear from one of my favorite TurBROS
Hi Chris ! Great review as always ! Hope the holidays were good to you ! Turbo Views volume 4 is awesome ! Thank you so much for doing everything you do, to keep one of the most underrated gaming systems alive today ! TURBOGRAFX-16 / DUO FOREVER !!!!
I remember the TurboGrafx commercial showcasing this game back in 1991. It looked enticing, but I did not get a chance to pick it up back then. I did buy it a few years ago and I haven't put much time into it. I should get around to completing this one someday. Great video as always.
Did you catch the 2017 It Came from the Desert movie? VERY loosely based on the game, set 50 years later for starterts made by a director with a hard on for dirt bikes, as that's a third of the bloomin' movie!!! There's a trailer on TH-cam.
This game went from "oh this is gonna be bad" when first starting out to staying up all night trying to finish it. Strangely engrossing. Love your reviews sir.
What I loved about this game was its non linearity and its style was ahead of its time. Some of the gameplay wasnt the best but it had more than enough to love it.
This game is a bit clunky but I really like the b-movie feel. I still play this at least once a year, or so. Turning the lights out and trying to play through it in an evening is still fun to me after all these years. It's uniqueness is really what keeps me coming back.
I really enjoyed this game as a kid as well despite it's lackluster gameplay. If only we can see a remake with higher video resolution and polished up arcade games I'd probably buy it. Apparently there is a 2017 movie that came out inspired by this game. Have not seen this movie yet but now I'm kind of curious to check it out. Thanks for the review Chris!
Don't believe I've heard of SwatPro magazine, but that's pretty neat you got your tip in there. Fancy cover with the Road Runner SNES game they were plugging!
I seriously think this one of those games that could have become a hidden gem if it had a remaster on a system like the Wii with it's motion controls for the pointer with no waggle fest, some retooling of arcade games segments, and a remaster of the of the original footage with some bonus easter egg behinds the scenes making of content to fill up a disc. But of course I'm a guy who's a sucker for campy B movies.
I could have sworn you had already reviewed this one, but then again, I was probably thinking of Esteban's video on this game, and maybe a little about Kim Justice's video on Cinemaware... The FMV on display here is rather impressive for a game that doesn't require the Super System Card, although maybe if the lighting during recording was better they could have captured more detail and made it look less grainy...

I heard this version really got Cinemaware in a lot of trouble since it went over budget. Not to mention like you said in the review it plays pretty bad too. Great video!
I remember buying this from radio shack. Going home excited to play it. Oh how I was so disappointed ☹️ I traded it a few days later for wonder boy 3 in monster lair
Holy good God man, why would anyone hold a firearm like the guy in this game. Listen kids, never shoot like this in real life or you're going to have a bad time. Depending on the caliber, you could break your wrists, have the gun snap back and bash you good on the top of the head, you won't hit what you're aiming at, you might even shoot yourself. Further, the way people are depicted with their shotguns looks particularly insane. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to destroy. Even if said weapon is not loaded one mistake and your friend loses his face. Everything that is depicted here is insanely dangerous. The guy at the gun range "Let's rock and roll" has never shot a weapon in his life. One would never fire one in the manner he did. The stock on a pump 12 gauge shotgun isn't just a suggestion. I love the scenes showing people...I guess laying on the ground. It has you shooting the ants before they eat the person. Yeah that nonsense would be over in 3.2 milliseconds. Even if you're able to hit all the ants, the round would most assuredly keep going and would kill your friends. In this senario it would likely be better to drop a round into their forehead ending their suffering. Besides, if you're dumb enough to be caught by giant ants....sorry. This game looks cheesy bad, which is always good. I was a Sega CD nut when I was a kid and we had games just as stupid as this one. Corpse Killer is one such game that made my brain hurt but had me laughing uncontrollably at the same time. Alas they do not make stupid games like this anymore. It's an artform that I guess has outlived its usefulness to the industry. ;)
I never got into this one due to it being a live action fmv. While i have soft spot for animated fmvs games i wasn't a fan of live action ones,spida1a.Then again if it got a remaster with better a picture maybe then id try itfor it's b movie feel..Funny enough games such as night trap and double switch have gotten there remaster.
Amazing that you were published in SWATPRO!

Awesome. Thanks for another Turbo Views!
Happy New Year!
A treat for the new year, thank you for the episode Chris.
Happy Console Gamer sent me your way... great channel and great game. Thanks for the review. Will check out more soon... Subbed ;)

Now you’ve got me wanting to play this haha. I’ve had it for a while but never got around to playing it. Great job as usual man!
I've always been curious about this game great video as always man
Great video! Thanks and Happy Belated New Year!

As always a great review Chris! I never had the patience for this one though. I rented it a few times and it never took with me.
I really like your reviews, I miss you!

We need you to come back! It’s been too long !
Hi gtv
Don't believe I've heard of SwatPro magazine, but that's pretty neat you got your tip in there. Fancy cover with the Road Runner SNES game they were plugging!
Happy Console Gamer sent me. Cheers!
Come back pls :'(
Where are you?
Excellent review Chris!
You excited for the TurboGrafx-16 Mini?
FMVs used to be so revolutionary
Actually loved this at the time.
This game should be remade for current Gen. Great Review
I am going to suggest we just play this on the next movie night. This looks way better than Bird Box.
I can't wait for next March! TG Mini!
Spot on video, I was blown away by the early FMV when this game came out in the early 90's. But man those side scrolling action scenes were terrible.
Glad to see you back. But this game... When unreleased megadrive version looks better you know something isn't right.
Oh yes a new episode...woooooooo
Thanks Pipes! Hope you enjoy it my friend.
Have you reviewed Night Creatures?
I seriously think this one of those games that could have become a hidden gem if it had a remaster on a system like the Wii with it's motion controls for the pointer with no waggle fest, some retooling of arcade games segments, and a remaster of the of the original footage with some bonus easter egg behinds the scenes making of content to fill up a disc. Thanks for video! Keep flipping!
Omg the nostalgia is gonna kill me!
Any game with an Old Prospector is a guaranteed win
I remember the ads for this game. I never had the CD attachment though.
Need more turbo!
Hope everything is okay, I was hoping, because of the quarantine, we'd get some new videos.

2019 starts off strong!
I wish this guy would post more videos. I want to know about PC-Engine games. There are some interesting ones.
Real people in a game! even if gameplay is toss out of the window!! Sound like modern triple AAA to me.
The compression looks like watching a movie through a slice of ham.
It's a Corny b movie, it's on the Turbo, and I say why not?
Retsupurae makes it more bearable to watch.
I had this for the Amiga.

Is a Lords of the Rising Sun review coming soon? There are no reviews for it on TH-cam, just hour long playthroughs and one minute mentions.
I think I played this on Amiga 500 and it was Awesome
The cheese is strong with this game😂
I heard this version really got Cinemaware in a lot of trouble since it went over budget. Not to mention like you said in the review it plays pretty bad too. Great video!
Am I allowed to say I miss turboviews? 😢 ...
Also the Ants eating people sequences are very graphic, I'm suprised.
I wonder what a sequel or spiritual Successor be like if they did one for super system card
I remember buying this from radio shack. Going home excited to play it. Oh how I was so disappointed ☹️
I traded it a few days later for wonder boy 3 in monster lair
guess he finally gave up
He’s a busy man...he’s got a long resume....with acting in theatre and being a creative editor at a production company and doing other things.

The scientist look like james randi but i bet he is the same guy from some sega cd game releasead a lot of time later.
ever played the genesis prototype? they basicly turned it into a more arcade style shooter.
This game had too many bugs for me to ever finish it!
So how did you escape from your captors this time Chris ? : P
It wasn't easy!! Let me tell you! ;)
*Did the new demonetization regulation burn you out?* Maybe you have finished the entire TG library? I have waited for a year :")
Where did you go? It’s time for PC engine reviews!
Song sounds like 3 Doors Down's Kryptonite!
Congratulations for having your tricks printed in magazine :) Yeah, sadly, lots of these FMV games had terrible gameplay.
Fantastic News!!!!! Konami had just revealed the TurboGrafx-16 Mini with 5 games already confirmed for it. I am dead seroius.
I hope it gets released in Australia, it looks great!
I was a huge fan of the Amiga original. I only just discovered that this existed. Looks to me like the gameplay in the tunnels had worse graphics.
I always thought the amiga version was great. All those cinemaware games had beautiful graphics and clunky gameplay tho.
hey how are you doing like hey how is it going
You again?
I can't believe they got away with that gore! It's genuinely disturbing and seriously out of place, like something straight out of Chiller!
Nowadays seems it came from the "Market"...
HappyConsoleGamer brought me here

Most "old skool" gamers loved the original PC game, this TurboGrafx adaptation is a bit...strange.
1star like an Atari game with old cable unauthorized porn channels
I give
I wouldn't call the animation good with those kinds of sprites. They look awful!
