What’s crazy about Ys book 1/2 it’s so hard to sell it based on watching the gameplay cause it doesn’t look that good. When you play it though it’s absolutely fantastic.
To me, at the time, it was kind of understood that rpgs would be low on the visual side but (hopefully) make it up story wise. So I went into Ys pretty positively and then was blown away when I started, and then things got good
Half way was about when I started watching. Wow it's sort of neat seeing all that again now the list is complete. Can't wait for the finale! Learned a lot about the TG16 and having this comete series to fall back on is a real treat. Thank again man!
I have a soft spot for Wataru but I need to see the anime to get immerse myself into it’s story. Btw I liked it back in 1989 when the big N games looks plain. Plus this and Ys are the reasons I became a lover of anime!

Do you think Dungeon Explorer II is playable in Japanese if you're not familiar with it? I'd love to play the game, but the only official way to play it is on the Japanese PSN currently.
Japanese dungeon explorer II menus are in english,but it's story is in japanese.If you want to play it in english emulate it or go with a burn if you have a TG16/PCE.
KC was a disposable pack in game actually realy meant for the Japan audience who saw the anime. They tried by marketing it but you cant realy . its just wasnt meant to be a stand alone game. it has no replay value and just shows what the pc engine can do. alot of these types of games were japan only and were not well marketable in other countries . TG16 failed for a good reason cause the games got lost in translation entirely. it just wasnt marketed right .
@@devonwilliams5738old comment but if you're collecting to play rather than for resale, it's worth noting disc rot is going to get these items eventually. May as well enjoy them.

Thank God for emulation, I'm glad I have Magic Engine just so I can experience what I missed on as a kid

Looking at it now yes but i remember it scoring high in egm buyers guide that it sold me on Ys 1&2.
These videos bring back some great memories.
That really sucks that EGM didn’t even respond to you. It’s bad enough they didn’t actually give you what they promised in writing.

Played it in Japanese years ago .. was straightforward enough, should be easier nowadays with online guides .... or go english
