    I love 3 inch 1s toothpicks. I also love onboard recording. The walksnail 1s is literally my perfect fpv drone. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I built my first 3” 1s last year after I saw a couple of your toothpick videos, and the 3” 1s has turned out to be a perfect outdoor daily driver when the weather allows.
    Easy to charge a whole fist full of packs and go rip just about anywhere, and perfect for just stepping outside for a quick break on the patio.
    This size of quad just gets a lot of flight time for me, and if I had to pick only 1 quad, I think I would agree.
    Ive got HDZero goggles, but my 3” 1s are still only analog so far since they just keep flying so good. I really gotta do an HD toothpick for this summer soon! 🤟
    Really man, thank you for the inspiration! This build size completely changed the game for me.

      Thank you very much for sharing - means a lot to me to hear and I’m glad you are having a great time with it. Those reasons you listed are exactly why I love the platform - stress free non bothersome platform that’s surprisingly capable. And analog still preforms the best for sure but I would say definitely try an HD build. You can never have too many 🫡🫡

    3inch rules, more so with walksnail and go2 on top ;) but for all that weight my go to setup is 1204-5000kv with those props. If the all up weight is less than 180grams, for 3-4s it is golden. Love that the fc is over the walksnail vtx, broke one vtx, only a tpu canopy is not enough protection sadly.

    3 inch 1S has been my overall favorite for a few years now. I use a Crux3 frame and stock up on them cheap. I run HD zero and Analog. The prop area to weight is great and very efficient and powerful depending on how you fly. I run for a battery a 450 for best power to weight on up to 550,650, 820 all the way up to a Sony Vt6 3000 mah lion and fly 15 minutes. So whatever your mood it will do it. My other favorite I just purchased is the Crux35 Hdzero with the 1 watt freestyle vtx. Great machine overall too but it is 4s. Great video Moe!!

      Thank you very much! And damn I didn’t even think about the LION option - that would be super cool to try. I would probably put a nice external diversity ELRS RX and do some long range missions with it. I might have to to try this 😮😮 but probably couldn’t put that one on TH-cam 😛

    Love these things, they look so spicy! This makes me want to take my 2 Crux3's out, lightly moded 1s and spare parts HDZero 2s build. Just finished tunnig the 2s. I honestly love the screaming big quad motors, those close by maybe not so. So I get the stealthyness of the 1s for sure, I like analog tehre for the weight reduction as well. Meanwhile that 2s lets you pack more and that extra punch. Thanks for taking us for a rip and the build breakdowns, love these! Cheers!

Ngl, I got to see the "rise" of toothpicks back then even before kababfpv pushed it further - and I knew that it was gonna be an amazing platform and its nice that they're still getting the love they deserve today. amazing content as always!

      @MoeFPV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you brother! Its just such a capable platform especially on 1s. Been experimenting more with smaller 1s ductless micros lately and there is a lot of potential for a more traditional/less floaty experience there. Will have to follow up with another video in the future. How is that WHOOP FRAME coming?? ;)

    I recently built a 46 gram crux3 with walksnail and it is by far the best flying quad I have tried out of every other category, I have tried them all including all goggles, boards and battery setups. With a SuperX HD controller I got weight down to 42 grams, but the MP6500 on the Darwin 15A ELRS just feels so much better. My best build is "crux3ish walksnail" on rotorbuilds. I also have a 1 gram TPU battery mount I designed.

      @@MoeFPV I'm good again thanks! Had to undergo surgery in my head in March but I'm fine and back flying again ;) And you?
      The AOS T3 is more rigid than the TP3 which makes it tunable with 3S but as everything get's heavier with 3S it tends to break arms very quickly. Flies nicely so in my opinion. th-cam.com/video/Mq3AgHRHJvE/w-d-xo.html Sub 120g is too heavy I think and there are many places to easily lose weight: V3 Walksnail 1-3S, canopy, battery holder etc. and also the 3S 450 battery. I think the goal with 3S would be to get around 100g and see how it flies and handles crashes then.

    Thanks for the video! Im thinking of building the 1s one. Is a 5a AIO enough for 1s or is a 12a AIO a safer bet? I think I might use the new Flywoo F405 12A AIO since they released a V2 with a 9v BEC which to my understanding should reduce the brownout of the WS VTX. Also, are you able to release your PIDs and settings for your 1s toothpick? Thanks!

    @cookedfpv 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    excellent video. I'll probably move my similar build to a baby tooth frame to drop some weight. one question......why put the aio ON TOP of the vtx? seems like that would bake your aio and just add length to your motor wires.

    • @MoeFPV
      @MoeFPV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question - Ideally, I would rather the AIO be below, but a lot of these 1-2s AIOs have a vertical USB that sticks up and would be inaccessible otherwise as there is no USB port below the frame. Some AIOs have horizontal USBs, which would work nicely, but most are heavier than the flywoo boards I used here. I should have addressed that in the video

      It really depends on the build. If you build one with Walksnail and 13mm motors on 1s then yes, I firmly believe that you will notice a difference in flight performance and battery sag. But if you build one ultralight with smaller motors, you may not notice much of a difference at all. I would say it is still worth building on BT2, though

  • @TheLastTater

      I have compared them on a Nuffinga 3” 1s build on 13mm motors analog. I found myself hitting the dirt towards the last 30 seconds or so of the battery expecting more power. You can certainly get away with BT 2.0 especially if you have a lighter build and smaller motors - and further it could just be I’m a bit more sensitive to the difference. If you’re enjoying your build and it’s flying well I would 100% keep it bt 2.0

      Are you running the 13mm or the 1202.5? On my Nuffinga build on 13mm motors I used bt2.0 and would find myself hitting the dirt towards the last third of the pack. But I have a super light Nuffinga on bt and 1202.5 and I can run out the whole battery. It’s definitely weight and motor dependent but now that I have a stack of bats I’ll always grab the xt30

      Just personal preference - 1s has cheaper batteries and is quieter/lighter. But 2s is also a lot of fun. I dont think we would want to through a 3" prop on 1002s. Motor is not big enough to handle that much prop. 2" is about as much as I would go on that motor. You would need to replace the motors with at least, IMO, 1202.5

      The crux 3 1s elrs? You can certainly do it but that board you have on there is a 5-1 with internal analog VTX. And that board is becoming very hard to find! You may want to keep it as it - maybe just swap the Ph2.0 for BT2.0 or XT30 and call it a day. I would also recommend trying either the HQ durable or the 3018 props for some extra punch in the form of higher pitch !

I bought it just for the purpose of building my first digital toothpick to go with my avatar x goggles. Till now I have been using it just as analog goggles with a mod. I thought getting the crux 3 elrs was the easiest way to get to what you were showing in the video. A noob question, once I solder and configure the walksnail 1s lite vtx does it turns off the onboard analog vtx and can I safely remove the vtx antenna? Or does it still powers the analog vtx and I need to keep that antenna on the board?

    • @MoeFPV
      @MoeFPV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mrityunjay1234 happy to hear you’re giving the platform a go ! So you will have to do something to disable the internal VTX. Sometimes, the boards have a pad that can either be jumped or UNjumped to disable the onboard VTX. Check out a wiring diagram for that board (is it the 2G4?) and see if you can find a pad that references VTX power. I guess you could also just go into betaflight and to the VTX tab and set the channel and band to NONE and the VTX power to 0 , as well

    I enjoy 2s because the batteries just seem to last longer than my 1s (not flight time but life of the battery). I do really like the 1s for the same reason you do, I really need to sell my dji stuff and buy into walksnail (although I have hdzero goggles). Have you tried tri-blade props on the 2s? You might have to put slightly smaller props on, but should be more efficient based on the data. FWIW I have 2s 41g analog quad (2inch)+ battery, its incredible

      I also find that my 1 cell batteries tend to need replacing at LEAST 2x as often as my 2s, but I don’t mind TBH. I love all the systems for their own strengths.
      And I did once try tri blade 3” props - just not for me on toothpicks. I like the floaty slippery feel of a bi blade 🤣 although I always assumed bi blades to be more efficient given the lighter weight/resistance of 1 less blade

      @@MoeFPV sorry to bother you once again, I have some questions about walksnail - I currently use hdzero, and I like to fly both relaxed and hard/fast, almost all flights are in small/tight spaces (around my house, like you do). 2.5inch 2s or I've just purchased a crux3 to try out the 1s scene as per your video. I'm curious whether you use hdzero or analog goggles with a walksnail vrx? whats the latency like with a vrx? I saw something about the hdmi output (conversion from walksnail to hdmi out) increases latency even more. Whats walksnail on a micro like with the latency in a small space? Its really expensive to purchase the whole walksnail setup just to test

    • @MoeFPV
      @MoeFPV  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@xyic0re714 No bother at all - very good question. I think I wont be able to give you a good answer as latency perception/tolerance is different pilot to pilot. I can say you will probably feel it, if you primarily fly analog and HDZ. Will it be enough to ruin the experience for you? I want to say no. I really enjoy WS for what it is, and is amazing to fly on micro quads. Though I would say its best to try it, if you can, before purchasing.
      I have the walksnail goggles x - the VRX may have some minor additional latency depending on which goggle you are using it with. It really only works with the HDZ goggles or the new Skyzone 04X pros as they allow for the use of the low latency mode. All other goggles will have increased latency as you can not use that mode. I had the HDZ goggles and the VRX was a fine experience compared to the new goggles x.

How do you find the walksnail goggles x compared with the hdzeros, I really like the fit of the hdzeros (zero light leak), and I like the community focus of hdzero. for me fpv is a lot about tinkering/community.

      I can say I’ve very easily noticed increased battery sag on bt2.0 13mm motors compared to an xt30 build. I found myself hitting the dirt a lot more than I normally would at the end of the battery. I also asked kabab this question personally to affirm that reasoning. I never built up a walksnail 3” 1s on bt2.0 because of this
      BUT it’s not as though you couldnt build one up on bt2.0 - you’d still have a great quad and, depending on the build weight , motor size and kv, you may not even notice a difference. Don’t feel as though you have to invest in a bunch of xt30 1s bats to experience this awesome platform !

      I've built multiple of these on 2s. Out of those options, I would go with the 8000kv for 2s 3inch. 6400kv might be just enough, but it also might not. You can always limit motor output if 8000kv is too much, but with 6400kv that's what you got. Also, if you want to experiment with lower pitch props, you need the extra kv :)
