Heard this on SoundCloud years ago. Mac has an absolute treasure of tracks he never released due to him being a perfectionist, so if he had one thing he didn't like about the track, it would just sit on one of his dozens of giant hardrives. The account on SoundCloud that was somehow hacking into his computer or cloud, was releasing drops everyday. It'd be like an 1hr long mix of one song after another. All unreleased and ALL BANGERS. Unfortunately people started sharing to FB and what not, so it drew macs estate to look. Day after his main and back up account were wiped. Used to make me so mad, I'd wake up and go find and play my new favorite mac track that only a couple hundred people had ever heard, and it'd be gone. He ended up making more accounts, wasn't the same tho. Tracks weren't as frequently dropped, and the ones that were, were only clips. Like 30 second clips of a song. He's probably still in the depths doing it somewhere. Unfortunately I didn't know how to download the tracks back then, so I'd have them forever. Now when one gets dropped on SoundCloud everyone downloads it immediately. Like we heard those songs his estate released probably 2 years or so before they even announced it. Wish they'd just drop them, or find a mixer to make them into albums. He has literally thousands of hours of unreleased, and that came from one of his best friends, ThunderCat. His estate could have released 3 or 4 albums by now, all of which would have been bangers, and there are 1 or 2 tracks that'd absolutely hit the top 100 charts and maybe even you'd hear Mac playing off your radio again. My old SoundCloud account has ALL the "names" to them, I put that in quotations because no one knew the name, so the guy would just listen to it a few times and pick one.
The guy actually had a back up back up account called Larry Fisherman. It was spelled in unique fonts if I remember correctly. Wonder if this account is the same OG that dumped SoundCloud with Mac Tracks for 2 years and had all the die hard fans going absolutely nuts with "thank you" and "you're the absolute man" "thank you for your work and providing these tracks to the people" had to be a really die hard Mac fan to find the account. Alot of the single song tracks had a minute buffer (so just silence) before the track to get passed the SoundCloud scrubber A.I. That worked for a bit, still does. They hour long tracks are super hard to find now tho if you were lucky enough to be around then count yourself lucky. We heard Mac tracks that less then a thousand people have ever heard. Miss those days, the account would actually change the title to a song if enough people commented and agreed that it should be called something else.
I went to hs with Steve Lacey, smoked a blunt with him with the homie Jeffrey. He played a Mac miller song he produced in the car that morning. Few weeks later he died and we graduated :(
