    Firstly, putting pressure on the car in front to yield to you is, as you said, what we do at the track. It was his driving that caused him to damage a wheel.
    I plan on running Road Atlanta, so I will optimize my Z06 for that purpose...carbon fiber wheels, Cup 2 R tires, Z07 pkg.

      I know right? He was pretty nice about it after he regained his sanity, but the death of that wheel caused him to momentarily lose his mind for sure. The highs are high and the lows are low with the Carbon Fiber Wheels. I have always wanted to do Road Atlanta. I'll send you a message if I ever make it out.

    Again, enjoying the content brother keep it up! Do you know for the Carbon Aero, is the Carbon Flash actually carbon fiber or is it just another material? I know the wheels are both obviously Carbon fiber, but whay about the Aero?

      Great question, thanks for watching! The rear wings and splitters are carbon fiber no matter what. I’m not sure what the canards are made of, but it’s the same for both versions. “Carbon flash” is the name of the paint they put on the cheaper aero. It’s a black paint with metallic flakes. They presumably spray it over the Carbon fiber parts that may have had small blemishes or imperfect weave.

    Thanks for another great video. No CF wheels for me as I can’t afford to replace them 😂

      Thanks Chente! To tell you the truth they may be going in the basement except for twice a year or so when they come out for major time trials events :)

      If you buy another set of "normal" wheels you just bought a carbon fiber wheel so use them and enjoy the overall ride benefits etc they will impart to the overall experience of the car in its highest iteration.

    I love the exposed carbon wheels but I would be too terrified of putting a wheel off on track and turning one into a nice piece of garage art

      @RecordsRebuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, I know it! But think about it, how many wheels have you ruined on track so far? It’s still zero for me, fingers crossed!

      It would make great garage decor. Especially if you broke it yourself.

    So. I like the less the better too but. With a car l like this with all the expensive low aero in front id just have to have the front end lift for going in & out of driveways etc and the cameras for the front so as to not smash the front aero into a curb when parking. I know you can't get the front cameras on 1LZ and I think possibly not the front end lift either. So I'll have to go 2LZ and go with little to no visual fufu stuff which is what most of the options are.

    • @RecordsRebuilds
      @RecordsRebuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a great point. I’m struggling with the same decision. They have it set up so that the front cameras and front end lift cost you about 15k though (once you factor in 2LT) and that’s insane.

    If it's our local track...I unfortunately know how easy it is to damage wheels when you sightly dip it off the track in certain spots. That said in my slow car/karting experience doing any time trial/attack related stuff if you even think you're being pressured or being slow better to let the car go. I ended up going faster many times for various reasons after I gave the point by. You're not racing the guy catching up to you, you're racing yourself and the clock.

      I 100% agree, better to be safe and pass them again later. Then you know for next time. I agree about it being easy to damage a wheel, but I also haven’t damaged any wheels in the past 5 years and I’ve dropped one off more than a time or two.

    The thing that worries me about C/F wheels is the tyre shop. Does the guy changing your tyres care enough about your wheels to not damage them. Does the shop have the correct centre stabiliser that registers on the wheel lug nut holes, and not the centre hole? Most small tyre shops will not have the new machine that doesn't touch the wheel.

      I know right? I am considering buying a machine to mount them myself. We will see

    why the graphite satin wheels look diferent that the graphite satin with the red strip wheels? I talk about the graphite color

    • @RecordsRebuilds
      @RecordsRebuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it’s just the lighting. Think of black whelks as gloss black and satin graphite as flat black. Both of the satin graphite wheels are the same base color

      @@RecordsRebuilds I agree but I have seen some wheels that do not look like matte black but rather the color that is seen there in the video. I am very confused with that.

    CF wheels are bad idea. yes its a $10k options, but what about replacement costs? CF GT500 wheel are $8000/EACH

    I hope they don't crack like all the other Corvette wheels do.

    • @RecordsRebuilds
      @RecordsRebuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, easy now, that was one specific wheel. I agree though, it was very poor form for GM not to stand behind those wheels.

      @@RecordsRebuilds I'm referring to C7 and C8 wheels. Both have had a lot of cracking issues. I went aftermarket forged immediately.
