Hey Maurice! Thank you so much for your review of our product! This is one of the most impressive videos we've seen about our product! Hope you continue to use and love SIMPLER Hair Color!
I'd advise sectioning your hair to get a more even application. As someone who regularly dies their hair, this product is a bit pricey imo. Especially if it's a demi-permanent dye. You were absolutely correct that the skin protector is just Vaseline. If you ever want to try dying your hair without this kit, you don't need to buy anything fancy. You're definitely correct that it's much easier if a friend can do the back. When I am doing that by myself, I use a hand mirror to see the back in a full sized mirror. Final tip, double or even triple the amount of product you used. You want every strand fully covered. If you apply too little, it'll come out uneven and patchy. More is more.
Hello , sorry for my ignorance on this subject but what does a Demi permanent dye mean ? How long would 1 application last before needed to be reapplied ? For me it’s a toss up between this or Madison reed, but madison reed says needs to be applied every 2 weeks and it’s 28$ each
what products do you use? I'm looing for a longer lasting solution for my beard and mustache. My hair doesnt need it only my facial hair for some reason. thanks in advance.
@@saulbloom6865 hahaha, got it , ya I’m new at this , I was like wtf is a Demi permanent dye lol ? Makes sense now , like I said I’m new at this lol, but aren’t they all semi permanent ? Even the harsh stuff doesn’t last more than 8 weeks I hear, but I want nothing to do with anything that can damage your hair with those harsh chemicals
Head and Shoulders is a known clarifying shampoo, meaning it strips your hair. It is a known trick people use when they don't like their color to fade it. So I would suggest a gentler shampoo for longer-lasting darker results if you aren't gonna use a shampoo for colored hair.
Hey Maurice. I'm in my 40's and have been looking for a good men's hair dye for years. I'm totally unhappy with everything I've been using. I've been watching your edc content for years as well and just happened to stumble upon Simpler and your video. Having you review the product instantly gave me good feelings about Simpler. I'm gonna try it thanks to you. For several reasons I trust your endorsement. Thanks man, carry on!
It worked great. I just bought my second box of Simpler. It's much easier, faster, and less messy than the other box kit brands I've tried. I have brown hair and other brands have a lot of red in their products. After a few weeks, my hair would look almost orange in some light. Simpler provides a better color, in my opinion. I'm very happy and would recommend to anyone unhappy with other DIY brands. Good luck.
Quick question. I have brown hair without any gray in it. However, my beard is pretty gray and I like to keep it trimmed pretty short. Maybe a couple days growth. Is this product good for men with shorter beards my concern is the skin staining? Thanks.
Maurice, Suggestion: For your longer hair on top, brush in your hair dye going in both the left and right directions. This will help give you better coverage on all of your hair, on the surface and the hair close to your scalp. Also, was there a specific reason for choosing this product? I'm guessing there might be more cost-effective products available that would work equally as well. Although, just a guess.
I've never considered dyeing my hair. My hairline was receding before I turned grey. I shaved my scalp in 2010 or there about and never looked back. Still, I think you've done a great job, especially considering this is the first time you tried it. If it works for you is all that matters 😉
Hey Maurice, enjoyed your video and it was informative , have a question for you, after you stopped using it (assuming you have) or you missed a session , does your hair turn orangey or a light brown? Thanks !!
I put it in my hair too. It works really well, but if you have strong Gray, you might want to leave it in longer than an hour because if you wash it off before your graze will look blue. But it works really well. I haven't been able to redo mine yet. Because I've been driving on the road. But if you have strong bright gray, you might want to leave it in more than an hour to make sure it stays black.
Have essentially same hair, hair colour and cut as you. Curious a few months out. How quickly did the grey return on the sides and was it now super obvious you died as the sides grew out?
Very good review glad you mentioned the smell. I've been trying different products and some really smell bad . Been using JFM many years but for some reason it has started to burn my skin really did like the product until recently.
You could always try running a wide tooth comb through the top of your hair to make sure that you're getting the hair color down to the roots and throughout all of the hairs.
Man, I've used this product for a year.....however, the last time I used the dye, my skin became extremely irritated. I will give it one more try with the behind the ear sample, but has anyone else had this problem?
Btw, I found something similar in Japan a couple of years ago called bigen for men. It’s a lot more affordable as well - do try if you have a chance (:
Hair dying is always easier with a friend. When I was younger I used to dye my hair all sorts of colours, but the bleaching process was a nightmare and it is definitely something I wasn't good enough to do alone.
I tried it but unfortunately I didn't care for it. It is not a permanent dye so it wore off in a couple of weeks. I used medium brown which was brown at first but as it wore off it made my hair reddish. That never happened to me with Just for Men.
Maurice, while I like your salt-n-peppa (😉), I think you did a good job. I started using Madison Reed during the pandemic. That was my first foray into DIY hair color. It’s a lot of work, but was way cheaper than salon hair color. I’ve since let my natural hair color grow out - I don’t have as much gray as I thought I did.
looks like it didnt even work well on your "beard". it seems way more expensive than Just for Men and the results are not what I expected. thank you for reviewing this and stopping me from making a terrible decision.
It worked well for his first time, the more you use it, the more it will work all over. Did you expect jet black hair instantly? Next time he should color his beard first that way it sets longer first
If you have a reaction from the Just for Men product, you will have it from this as well. I just tried it on my beard, and within 2 hours after use, I have chemical burns on my face! I do NOT recommend this product!
Im making every one aware that this product is no different then other products maybe the ingredients are different but the burn after is the samee trust me
It’s definitely not recommended to use specifically head and shoulders because it is known to strip your hair of everything, especially color. Ideally you only want to use it when you have dandruff and then once a week after it goes away.
Very disappointed with it. It promises an easy way to apply but in reality the can dispenses the two products unevenly (way more white foam than color, sometimes only white foam), making it really hard to do retouches without wasting a big amount of product. For an expensive dyeing product like this, this should work much better. There is no need to get a fault dispenser. Great marketing, poor product. Very disappointed with it.
I’m sorry, but your natural hair is beautiful with its silver streaks going through. Your natural hair complements your skin tone. It looks so much nicer than dyed hair. Please don’t dye your hair. You are beautiful the way you are.
@@joelow1282 what you see in the picture is my natural hair. I’m a little bit more silver now because the picture is about a year old. I stopped dying my hair 20 years ago when I was 40. Actually I will be 60 in a few months so technically I stopped dying my hair 19 and three-quarter years ago lol. Since I stopped dying my hair my hair is so much healthier. It’s different to take care of because the texture is different of my gray, but I don’t have to wash my hair every day my hair and my hair has a lot more body and softer.
He actually looks younger with color At the end of the day what we are all looking for is our confidence back. Some people keep it, others need a boost. No matter what one individual says. He still looks at least 10 years younger

Nice! At least you've got hair. What might you recommend for someone with thinning grey hair? (asking for a friend ;)

Stop with the "Im the least intelligent...." - it's really obvious that you are extremely bright.
I was thinking the same thing. It’s good to be humble, but you can be humble without depreciating yourself.
Yeah, seems fake when he overdoes that sort of thing. Still a fan tho!
I just spray and mix. But this stuff does not darken enough to work

I tend to get migraines after using hair die because of the chemicals. Is this a product that doesn’t contain those chemicals?

Awesome video as always!
This was so easy! And cool! I think getting 3 or 4 uses out of each purchase is very nice.
Would you know if the stores would carry this?
Wow, I almost bought it. It looks like I will stay with my current dye. $60 is not acceptable.

That would have been great when I was younger, unfortunately, now I have very little hair. But it looks like it worked well for you.
Just embrace it and shave it all off! Then it looks intentional instead of like something that's happening against your will.

you should brush it totally back rather than to the side. Your hair will all be brushed back but you won't miss spots.
Good video. Not your usual jam, but sometimes it’s good to mix it up.
